Dear god I hope I didnt just make another post that has been done before, doing it once is embarassing, doing it twice is going to severly lower my self esteem. Well, whats left of my self esteem. Anyway like the poll says, what is your favorite battle system. Me personal, I love the classics all the way, but every now and then I'm all about the tactics. Somewhat torn, but I think i'd go for Classic, just cuz, you cant beat the classics, oh yeah!

As I've said, I don't get to play games much anymore but whenever a new Final Fantasy game is released, I'm always on it. Yeah, the Classics are more fun! And I've never ever thought of going to buy Tactics, it looks so stupid. Real Time Adventure like Zelda came second, since I've played all the Zelda Games but completed none.

I'm a fan of the turn-base style of the classic FF games. I don't know why, but I just am.

Well you could even divide it further and put ATB (VI - IX) or turn-based (I,X). I prefer the ATB because its more realistic but still allows for a good deal of strategy. I did hate IX's ATB because it would still charge while spell effects were going on, unlike any of the other ATBs.

Well, I voted turn-based, but that could be broken up into three other categories - Party turn-based (FFI-III), Individual turn-based (LoD, Grandia II), and ATB turn-based (FFIV+). I prefer ATB slightly over Individual, because they both make speed a factor, and ATB makes you "think fast."

I voted turn-based, but seeing as how you could divide it into three categories (just as DP said), here're my preferences:
1. ATB-based (FF4,5,6,7, CT) 2. individual turn-based (SMRPG) I don't like party turn-based (FF1,2,3), although I will tolerate it. (It makes for completely different strategizing, and betting on a lot more things happening. I don't exactly like that.) And what's the "Hybrid Battle System"? -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. You can find me on the Fediverse! Hybrid system is like Parasite Eve, where there are elements from both live action rpg and turn based rpg. You have the items and abilities menu and at the same time your basic attacks carry ranges and are triggered by a key rather than selecting a command on a menu.

I went with the FF version although the Zelda version was a close second
