An interesting topic, I have some suggestions, if they are welcome.
Fire-arm: A would suggest a shotgun with a very short barrel, quick reload, and minimal recoil (as you don't want your arm to fall off after using it for a while). The best example of this is the shotgun from Marathon infinity, which can be fired and reloaded from one hand, allowing for a double shotgun approach. Melee weapon: This depends on style. I like a meter long wood staff... if the zombies are biological in origin, I don't want to go cutting them and spreading their fluids and catching thier zombie-ness. As for Demons, the best defense is to have the right friends on you side, and to be prepared. You can waste all your ammo trying to shoot them to death, or you can say your rosary before hand and watch as they run away with their tails between their legs. Also, never try magic against demons, as magic has it's origin in the demonic, and therefor will always work toward their adventage in the long run. There is nothing demons hate more than Mary, one mention of her name can send even the worst back from whence they came. Happy Hunting.
