I just recently went through the snes rpg's I'm currently getting ready to play FF6 with my friends (were gonna race), but anyway I wanted to see what everyones method of mayhem was for X-Death. For me, I simply used a couple of the potions that double your life, then I had Bartz throw excalibur, and had everyone mimic that throw (and it surprised me that it actually worked), the battle was over in no time.(Of course im sure if any boss has 30 excaliburs sticking into them they probably wouldnt survive.) What was your strategy?

Usually I have someone with the chemist ability power up everyone, have my strongest attacker, usually Bartz, just attack like crazy, someone heal and cast holy, someone use $toss and someone mimic that. That method has always worked for me.

Four mimics, one character needs to know X Fight. Everyone takes double grip or two hands(to compensate for the fact that each attack with X Fight is only half strenght), everyone's equipped with the legendary weapons. The first character does X Fight, and the others Mimic it.
Can't beat 16 full strength physical attacks every turn. -------------------- Sabin: ... to Mom... and to Figaro. "A true classic never goes out of style!" I'll top ZNR's suggestion of X-Fight with X-Magic
![]() Here's my winning combo: Butz: Mimic class, abilities attached: Blue, X-Magic, Summon Lenna: Mimic class, abilities attached: Capture, MgcSwrd, Revive Cara: Mimic class, Black, White, Throw Faris: Mimic class, X-Fight, Dimen, Item My opening combo with Exdeath and with NeoExdeath was to X-Magic two Bahamut summons, and then to mimic that as much as possible. If I needed to heal, I would use Cara's white magic, and then either mimic that or go onto doing one of these: (if Butz is up next) X-Magic: Bahamut, Bahamut (if Lenna is up next) Capture or Revive (if other party members are down) (if Faris is up next) X-Fight or Meteo (unless I need to use items, in which case I have Faris do that) Then I mimic that or do a better move until I get back to Butz's Twin Bahamut strategy. Twin Bahamuts (X-Magic with two Bahamut summons) will deal about 3300 damage to all four parts of NeoExdeath twice in a row. And I had the most trouble with Grand Cross, since only Faris could use items, and only Cara could use white magic (think Heal spell). -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. Very interesting, it also occurred to me that you could do that tactic except use Flare, Meteo, and Holy as your basis, but throw in a twist: use Quick. It would be a serious MP drain, but the amount of damage you'd be able to do would be pretty incredible, you could go on until your your MP literally runs out, then Mimic it...unless Mimic only worked for the last X-Magic sequence.

First of all i set everybody as a mime
then give them these abilities Butz: $Toss, Black magic, White magic Reina: the same Krile: blue magic, white magic, attack Faris: 2-sword, Mgc sword, attack This works wonders against x-death -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

I used to use Bahamut all the way, but I found that it takes a real long time to kill him. X-fight is flawed because for me they sometimes will hit a part of X-death and not do damage. In the end, everyone becomes a Mimic and keeps GP-tossing him till he dies. Other than that I dun use anything else actually, unless of course someone needs healing.
Yeap, Mimics in FFV are definitely more powerful than Gogo in FFVI!!! -------------------- Student of CCS, Grandmaster of Alternative Literature and Musical Passionista at your service!!! |
