Tellah-FF4- Hey look at me !!! I am a great sage with only 4 MP !!!! ( I'm exageratting, but I think you get the point )

Wakka-FF5- Not even my grandma is so religious ( " It goes against the teachings of Yevon" i just hate that phrase )

Queen Brahne-FF9- I just hate her, is she even human ?????

Strago-FF5-You are a shame to Blue Mages everywhere x_X ( I just find him useless, his Lores aren't good and Terra is a better mage )

Tifa-FF7-"Look at me, I am a b!tc* that also has feelings" ( I just don't like her personality )

Plain and simple, which Final Fantasy Character do you just don't like? For me it'd be Squall from FF8, although he does wield one mighty unique weapon I just don't like him. He's that "Loner-social-outcast-that-puts-up-a-tough-front-and-is-'misunderstood'-but-is-just-a-guy-who-just-doesn't-want-to-make-friends", and no offence to anyone but I just hate guys like these, too many of 'em back in high school.

Relm from FFVI. Three reasons:
1. She's an annoying little girl.
2. Her weapon is a paint brush
3. She's not a Moogle, Tonberry, or incarnation of Odin

It's been done.

However, I like the topic name of this topic a LOT better than MogMaster's topic name. (Mods: can we please, pretty please, keep this topic title, in the event of a merge?)

But yeah, my post is in there.

the only character i really hate is Edward he is very annoying and completly useless. He was such a coward once he got in critical he ran away. How much more useless could you get.

Well, I haven't been an active user of this board to want someone destroyed, so I'll have make do with what I got.

Amarant from FF IX. Loner-types (I'm not the biggest Squall fan either, BR) can get on my nerves, and Amarant's plotline was so out of place and forced (the Treno flashback, the Ipsen's Castle scenes, etc.), and the fact that he looked like a bizarre clown-scarecrow didn't help either. Eiko was annoying, but her story sequences were actually good and she could be humorous on occasion.

Selphie from FF VIII. I just don't understand what the point to her character was, and she embodies everything I dislike about female game characters: too much overdone cuteness/childishness, slutty clothing, a slots-based Critical (I'm not sure if FF VIII's version of limit breaks were called anything, but I always called them Criticals), and REALLY annoying dialogue (train song, anyone?). To add insult to injury, she is always a presence in the dreaded "omg wat ffgurl is teh h0tt3st lol" thread.

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I'm surprised that no one's started bashing Edward/Gilbert or Cait Sith yet.
Edit
I leave the computer on for too long and an Edward-basher beats me to it. Great.

I've always imagined Amarant as a Jamaican outlaw (Due to the dreadlocks) monk and him having Vin Diesel's voice, but yeah his plotline is questionable. And I dunno about Selphie, I've come across many girls who more or less have her personality, so I took a liking to her (am I the only person who helped show her around the Garden?). And I also never liked Steiner, too much of a stuck-up one minded robot, if it weren't for his compatibality with Vivi I probably never would've used him.

I have a feeling my choices will be unpopular.

4 -- Nobody. Hell, I have a fondness for even that spoony bard.
5 -- Eh... you can't replace ALL the characters in a game, can you? Besides Faris because her Amano design was so cool.
6 -- At /least/ three characters should have died after the Floating Continent disaster. Bye, Strago. Relm can go. Shadow was supposed to die anyway. Setzer annoys me.
7 -- Aeris. YUFFIE. Cait Sith.
8 -- See 5. Can we especially kill Selphie? Please.
9 -- 9 was acceptable. Eiko, if no one else.
10 -- Auron. I hate that pseudo-badass crap. Lulu too. And Rikku I would smash with a hammer.
FFT -- Nobody. Even the crappy characters in battle had a good personalities. Even Algus, as I get to keel him ded.
CT -- Nobody, though I kill Magus every time. HE DESERVES IT FOR WHAT HE DID TO FROG.
CC -- Everybody. Absolutely everybody. The entire game, I want it gone.
XG -- Chu-Chu. Get the hell out of my face with that crap.

Chu-Chu. Most. Pointless. Character. Ever. There was simply no reason to put that piece of pink fuzzy crap in the game, let alone make an entire race of 'em and make one of them a playable character. If I hear anyone say words to the effect of "ur stoopid u no chuchu (omg KAWAII lol) is teh best gear in teh game if u give it drives stfu owned" then they can go straight to hell on a f*****g hockey puck.

You're packing a lot of rage there, Cully, and I'm cool with that, but why so pissed off at Magus? I'm a fan of Frog and all, and he did "rather enjoy this form," so why all the hate towards everyone's favorite black magic badass?

Oh, I don't want him to "be destroyed," as the subject says. I like his character. But I like Frog a lot more. And Frog doesn't really enjoy being a frog, he just said that to be cool.

Cannot forgive for Cyrus death/Frog curse/non-remorse for both acts. He dies in 12000 BC. Boo-ya.

Also, "black magic badass" -- as said before, I hate pseudo-badassness. That is, acting all broody and grumpy and monotone. The only badass that I really like is Id. Because that boy is a BAD ASS, yo!

Edward, Tellah. Reasons have already been said over and over again.

Terra, Celes and Relm. Yes that's right, I hate every female party member in FFVI. Good for nothing magic users can't match a good sword. Mp runs out in this game, the blade doesn't go dull.

Everyone in VIII. Just because I hate this game as much as a fat kid hates broccoli, spinach, and exercise combined.

Eiko. You have Garnet, and kids can't save the world (with the exception of Link of Legend of Zelda)

Yuna. How do you go from a holy summoner to a gun toting whore? I saved the world, so long clothes???

Paine and Rikku... just because X-2 makes me vomit.

Rafa. You're such a burden on Ramza. At least I can turn your worthless hide into a crystal and never see your sorry face again.

ok I don't want anyone one to die. but characters I dislike:

1) Squall - he's a bit of a sad git isn't he?
2) Tidus - try not to whine so much.. please
3) Those very annoying jesters of Queen Brahma - you're not funny!
4) the blue guy in FFX - waste of time and space in my opinion.
5) Quistis? with whip in FF8 - pretty annoying
6) Yuna in FF10 - Boring!

sorry for forgetting the names! I think most of the characters are brill' though. Cait Sith is cool... but perhaps he shouldn't have been a main character.

But, but...besides Relm, the other two equip swords/heavy weapons/armor. Doesn't that redeem them an itty-bitty bit? sad.gif

And because I forgot to add 'im to my list, Seymour. He can impale himself on his pointy, pointy hair, I say. Would make for the most interesting scene in that game.

Yeah. Besides Terra and Celes, who can equip the Illumina? Only Edgar and Locke, that's who. The ladies also have the best armor (Minerva) in the game. So yes, I spit on your choices for destruction. Ptooie, ptooie!

Hmmm, well in order of their appearance...

#1: Rosa, FFIV: I agree with the previous statements that Terra and Celes can really whoop some butt given the chance, with swords or sorcery. Rosa however, borders on the insanely useless. She's a healer... Whoopidy doo. I can respect healers sometimes however, as in the case of Raine from TOS. But why could I respect Raine? Because she didn't dress like she belonged on a street corner, didn't get herself kidnapped at every turn, and didn't whine to, and drool over the main charecter. Rosa is a grade A Mary Sue, and for that, she deseves to be destroyed.

#2: Edward, FFIV: I still ponder just what Square's game designers were on when they thought the ability to run away like a wussy, automaticaly, was a good idea. Especialy when he doesn't stick around to be healed either. Little jerk... The only good thing that came of Edward was Tellah's famous insult, "You Spoony Bard!"

#3: Umaro, FFVI: No plot significance + No charecter development + Berzerker = Toss him in the gutter, the lousy filler charecter.

#4: Cloud, FFVII: Frankly, I wasn't wild about this game to begin with, but his confusing whining really got on my nerves after a while. Plus the way his charecters personality bounces between brooding and mushy is just silly. Also, the spiky hair and oversized sword never did anything for me. thumbdown.gif

Characters I Want To Push Off A Cliff

#1 - Sephiroth

By having silver hair and wielding his seven-foot sword, he's been automatically introduced into the Evil Hall of Fame. Why, I have no idea. Compared to past villains, he lacks in the villainry department and his motives are not clearly defined. He has potential and fails on most levels of badness.

#2 - Squall Leonhart

Every time I see the cold-faced loner with a troubled past, I want to throw my analog controller into the tv screen. While each character is "unique" in some way, the characteristics that are used as a foundation are trite; yet, they're a FF staple. But, to his credit, at least his past isn't unknown--not knowing your past is immediate qualification for Most Cliched Character.

#3 - Paine

Since Auron didn't magically get written into the FFX-2 plotline, his shoes were filled with a punk girl with a troubled past. She's the rock of the Gullwings, always there to give blunt replies and moral support. While she lightened up towards the end of the game, her mark was made. Whoever stuffed Auron's personality into her body needs to be kicked off the cliff as well.

#4 - Yuna

Yuna, the sweet down-home girl from FFX, was a character I could live with. Unknowing in the ways of the world, following in the footsteps of her father: all characteristics that could be passed off as believable. But, magically, in the next edition of Spira, she's a gun-toting, skimpy-clothes-wearing rockette. Finding something to do during the Calm is a poor excuse.

#5 - Irvine

Gunslingers and the spirit of the Old West are something I can appreciate and enjoy thoroughly, but this "trained gun user" seemed to be only familiar with being irrelevant. He has usage in battle yes, but plot-wise, he could be a no-show and still work. Not to say he has no importance at all, but his roles are so small that they could easily be taken on by other characters.

Still, I don't have it in my to fix my hateful gaze upon a pure gun user. If only he was needed more in the story...argh. He disqualifies himself for that reason.

#6 - Seymour

The coifed freak from FFX needs a forceful shove off a cliffside. For a villain, he sure makes you hate him but probably not for his deeds. His voice was unbecoming of someone who wanted to kill everything (big surprise!) and his potbelly--while Guado-tastic--was laughable. While I can respect his weirdness and differentiate him from the baddy norm, he still doesn't cut it for me.

#7 - Edward

The character who may be the most ridiculed in FF history. I like bards, but Edward almost ruined it for me. Never have I seen such a girly minstrel, and the auto-hide option was hilarious (I imagined him hiding in a tree, behind a rock, head in the sand, etc.) for the character.

He really was a spoony bard after all.

#8 - Tidus

What can you say about this guy? His one-track mind is permanently set on "blitzball quotes", and he seems to know nothing about anything. To top the cake off, when you cast Scan on him, it details about how he's cried. Just an extra laugh directed at him.

#9 - Kimahri

Thanks for including him in the game, Square. Y'know, his Ronso Rage was uber-helpful and his entrance into the plot came really early in the game, so you got to know him and like him. This character made FFX!

He gets a footnote at the bottom of the FF series' book, which is both sad and fully deserved. In words he could understand: "Kimahri filler character."

#10 - Freya

While I liked Freya's skills and used her occassionally, her use in the plot quickly fell off track by the time you leave Cleyra. I truly wish she that she would have reappared as an integral character down the road, but she didn't, and thus she's a failure. Being "Zidane's long-lost friend" must have been good enough reason for her to be in the party.

I did hate that little bouncing Cait Sith, just because he was pink.

Wow... What a topic. I want to start off by saying that I think Zell was one of the coolest FF characters and FF8 would've been more interesting having him as the main character instead of a cold, brooding, and aloof character-turned a chummy, goody-two shoes. I would say I hate Squall as a lead and prefered him and Rinoa as anything but the two main leads.

Cid from FFVIII is another "bomb-worthy" character. The worst Cid ever is this one, and I would say an insult to Robin Williams to have this joker look EXACTLY like the great comedian.

Now, keep in mind that FVIII is my favorite game in the series (tied with FFT), I just would've preferred some minor changes.

i dont think ive posted for this...let me see, which one would i get rid of...thaz kinda tough! well, id have to say either eiko or kimahri because very seldom did i use either of them. although eiko was really funny, i just had to stick with garnet for my summoner/ white mage. as for kimahri, i just plain neglected him most of the time. i just never really used him!

1. Irvine. Badass sniper in a FF, no. I think not. His background is only in the 1st disc, too. I thought it was retarded how the characters know each other from back then. That was pretty lame, Square.
2. Strago/Relm/Umaro. They are pointless characters who fill up the plotline with nonsense.
3. MQ. Need I put a reason?
4. Zell, the whole punk thing didn't work for a crybaby. What the hell was Square thinking when they thought a FF character should like hot dogs?
5. Squall, more than likely Squall spends his time moping and writing lyrics for an unpopular band.
6. Cait Sith and Yuffie because they had no plot/background thought at all.
7. Paine, she is such a wannabe Lulu. Oh, look at me, I'm gothic and dress like a slut. Square should've just put Lulu as a character.
8. Rikku/Yuna(in FFX-2). Rikku-She dresses like a slut and has no real use in combat. Yuna-You'd think that someone with such religious belief would care about her dignity by prancing around with guns and no clothes.
9. Tidus. Nothing like an annoying, whiny, California golden boy for a hero... thumbdown.gif
10. Edward. I'm such a wimp that I have to hide in battle if I'm hurt. What kind of a monster falls to a pitiful harp?
11. Rosa. Yeah, I'm a damsel in distress waiting for my knight in shining armor and suck at aiming a bow, yet I'm an archer.
12. Selphie. She had good limit breaks but otherwise was just another useless character with big-ass nunchucks. Her hair made no sense and her dress looks outrageously slutty.
13. Quistis. What kind of teacher are you to go and cast blame on your misery on your students. It's not our fault you have no life and carry a weak-ass whip.
14. Cid, FF6. He looks like a ****** piece of candy corn for God's sake.
15. Cid, FF7. You smoke and bad-mouth a lady. Yeah, you're going to hell.
16. Queen Brahne, she doesn't look anything like a human and her daughter's as hot as Garnet. Yeah, sure Square.
17. All the characters in The Spirits Within. A movie about a fantasy world with swords and sorcery and you have a space-age plot and a Cid who tingles at warm moments. "Ohh... it's warm...," The plot made no sense, yet you have another slutty female main character.

Most. Redundant. Post. Ever. You go out of the way to mention FF VIII and then every single character in FF VIII? Same thing with X-2? Was all that really necessary?

But yeah, you know there's a reason behind #19.

Dagger/Garnet is Brahne's adopted daughter. She's originally from Madain Sari, having escaped with her mother after the attack from the Invincible. Garnet isn't even her real name. If you check out Madain Sari in disk four after some story sequences you meet up with an old "friend" that had mysteriously disappeared and learn a TON about Garnet's past, including both her real name and her birth mother's name.

Wow how many times has the word "Slut" or "Slutty" appeared so far? And I don't think Sephiroth's a cool villain because of his hair and sword, I mean c'mon the guy called forth a giant meteor to destroy the earth so he can gain ultimate power, now that's pretty crazy if you ask me.

I'm talking about the original princess, the real daughter of Brahne. How Garnet looks extremely similar to her.

2-Strago
What's up old man? not even able to stop a small fire, you think I wanted you to come with me?? You're so annoying!

3-Barret
Stop blaming all others and even yourself! «Damn, @#$@$ Shinra» ; «It's all my fault»

7-Butz
he's like: «Ho! I love chocobo & I found new friends fighting against bad guys but I'll still do it without saying a word for... nothing. Oh and look my hair style it's soooo cool no?»

10-Gogo
Who are YOU anyway? a trashcan?

I gotta say, this post caught my eye, for the reason of strong disagreement.

I consider both Strago and Gogo to be two of the most powerful characters in FFVI. Also, I'm a fan of Butz's character, and Barret is my favorite character in FFVII.

On the other hand, I agree that Cloud is lame. And on that note, Sephiroth is also FAR overrated, and Cait Sith's presence AND essence never quite made sense the way that humanoid beings did. And PLEASE redesign Tifa so that she is no longer the sex symbol of FF (not like it's possible by now, but that's just my opinion).

From FFIV, Edward is severely underrated, and Edge and Kain (especially Kain) are overrated. At least in FFIIus. So many people keep on saying how Kain is so cool because he's such a badass, and he's a badass because he can uber-jump like a dragoon and because he can betray your team, and stuff. If someone on my team betrayed us, I'd probably have his ass kicked and have him kneeling before me begging for forgiveness!

Locke of FFVI is somewhat overrated, but he's still a likeable character. Cyan, however, is underrated.

I have no real grudge against any character. It's just that it seems like Square didn't really spend much time developing personalities or spend much time on the characters themselves. After all, without customization, there may as well be memorable characters or storylines. It worked for Final Fantasy definitely...
