Leo: African American or Caucasian?

I have to go with Black.

I don't know if I've posted in this before, and I don't really want to skim the whole topic to find out.
Anyway, I guess that Leo is caucasian. His character design is pretty fair-complexioned, as is his sprite, and his new GBA portrait also reflects this. I guess he looked darker skinned in the SNES version, maybe due to color restraints or some other reason? Well, I don't really care what color he is because I still like him as a character, but I've always thought of him as caucasian. C'mon, this is so easily decided. He's Leo, short for Leonard. And Leonard Part 6 is one of the greatest movies of all time. That Leonard was played by Bill Cosby, who is black, therefore this Leo must be black as well.
 I'm with the "doesn't really matter" crowd, this is about as silly as the "Is Sabin gay?" thread. -------------------- Wasabi Viniagrette: Mix 1/3 C rice vinegar, 2 Tbsp sesame oil, and 2 tsp powdered wasabi. Excellent over cold udon noodles and shiitake mushrooms for a Japanese pasta salad. |

General Leo is a Caucasian. His SNES menu pic was just taken shortly after he got back from his Mexico vacation.

Leo's just really tan in his menu portrait, but he's a white guy. With weird colored lips, but no mustache. And he's rockin a flat mohawk. Or maybe he's got the Guile hair like Sabin, except for no pony tail... (By the way, Sabin's just got a buzz cut/Guile hair with a small pony tail at the bottom of the back of his head, this does not qualify as a mullet.)
Now Sigfried, depending on whether or not you think his sprite is wearing a mask could be black. He's either a black guy with a goofy smile or a guy with a crazy fencing mask. |

I personally think he's black, mainly because FF needs to represent more black people. Too many whites and Asians.

It seems pretty obvious that he is white, this might clash with amanos art. but the characters are usualy drastically different ingame and amano's work. Like all the chicks being blonde, etc. Has anyone considered that maybe he is an Albino and black meaning he is black but his hair has no pigment leaving it blonde, and making his skin slightly lighter. I grew up in a third world country where there skin was more brown than african black, I had a friend who was an albino and therefore had blonde hair, still doesn't explain why his hair is straight and not curly. I suppose he could have straightened it but that is stretching the imagination, then again, it is a fantasy game, anything is possible really.

I always thought he was white. The sprite is clearly white and the menu pic, as has been stated, looks like poor shading
