First, I hate to insult you, but do you know what punctuation is? Well, from what I could read, I agree. My Georgia Studies class had a racism debate today, believe it or not. One girl asked me a question that hit hard. I was speechless and had to let my black partner help me out. The question was: "Why do you hate blacks so much? What did they do to you? Why do you feel you must hit them?" I had to take the place of a white racist and couldn't comprehend the question because saying "we just don't like 'em" didn't seem to fit well. I told my teacher
only a racist could give an answer that had any meaning, took my seat, and began to think. I won;t record my thoughts. Anyways, I concluded that racism should not be an issue today. You know, blacks use the argument that we brought them over here. We didn't bring any of you guys here. Our ancestors did. Therefore, they should not be mad at us. I feel I strayed way off-topic. I think what was said needed to be said, however, because this thread seems to have evolved into a thread about the n word. Excuse me for the language, but it was relevant to the paragraph. Moderator Edit Relevant, sure. Unnecessary, also! -R51 This post has been edited by Rangers51 on 13th February 2004 02:21 |

Closed because I feel this topic has really derailed. It's gone from a thread about swearing to why black people feel that a word that's, historically, been offensive to them is still offensive today.
