Well I got it 2 days ago and I'm on my 11th hour.. I stayed home from school today to play it... ha ha.. anyway I think I'm supposed to be finding the empires fortress to stop them doing naughty things to the Espers.. but i haven't a clue where it is, i went all the way around the world because I thought it might mean the camp.. but that was gone when I got there.. Sigh...
I got a map somewhere on the internet but its not on it.. so where am I going, and a map would help?

Also when my peeps have learned their abilitys from the espers, how do i unequip them and swap them around? and how do i use the ability because nothing ever comes up under magic when I'm in a battle...

Feel free to mock the n00b.
But also answer questions or I'll look at you sternly.

If you need a map, go to the main bit of this site and go on STORES and MAPS and WORLD OF BALANCE. Magitek Factory should be there - I think that's what you're looking for.

As for Esper swapping, it's vital you change the espers as soon as the character learns all the skills before training up again, because then levels will be wasted which could be spent on learning new skills. Go on the menu, go on SKILLS, go on ESPERS and then double clicking on an Esper will replace it with your current one.

If you've learnt some magic skills for sure, scroll down a bit when you press magic. They might be further down. If you go on MAGIC when in battle, you can press up and the option to use your current esper will appear. You can only use the esper once per battle.

The place you're looking for is in Vector, which is marked on our map, but as you can see, you can't get there by land. You might be able to get there with an airship, though. Maybe you should look for someone who could hook you up.

(Apologies if you already have an airship, but it sounds like you don't, since I seem to remember it taking you to the right island and stranding you there.)

If you still can't find him,

If you are on the southern continent, go to the towns. I cant exactly remember the names but they are spread out. Lots of usefull armor and weapons in the shops. Leveling up in the forest is also usefull. When you encounter a group of 6 chickenlips, cast float on you're party and use Edgar's Noiseblaster. They will eventually kill themselves with quake. Easy experience and Magic points.
