I just finished this piece, and had a craving to share it right away. And seeing as it's 4:30am and no one's home or awake, I thought I'd post it here =D
I originally intended to do an action shot of Rydia, but whenever I do full bodies I tend to test out different eye, mouth, face shape, etc. styles beside the image. My eye test turned into a full portrait of Rosa (I chose Rosa because Rydia's overdrawn, though she's my favourite character). I based her largely from the new CGI images, but simplified because I'm bad with details XP I did the image fully shaded, and it turned out pretty good, so I scanned it to test out my photoshopping skills. I edited the photo in Adobe ImageReady, a version I got when I downloaded Photoshop CS2 (which expired after 30 days). ImageReady has a lot less features than CS2, so I had to do all the lineart and everything else with a mouse (no tablet yet, too expensive ATM). Then I resized the image and saved it as a JPG. It took about 5 hours to finish, and turned out pretty darn good, I think ^_~ This post has been edited by MandaCookie on 8th November 2007 10:05 Attached Image ![]() |

I haven't a clue as to who Rosa is, but that is a great portrait! Beautiful job and keep up the good work

Quote Female protagonist from FFVI wasn't it FFIV? she was the lady with the arrows and white magic (I think). Yes, she's the female heroine of FFIV and object of affection by not only the lead hero, but also his best friend.

All the lineart and coloring by mouse alone?! Your wrist must be killing you! But it's worth it; this is an awesome portrait. I get it was good practice, too. Thanks for sharing it with us!

very nice. i have no idea how you did it, since the most art i can achieve on the computer is circles and lines, but this is great no matter how it was done.
