Has anyone heard anything about a sequel to Vagrant Story?

Possible spoilers: highlight to view

As anyone who has played the game will know Square left the door open for a second, ie: The Phantom Pain - "and So begins the story of the Vagrant"

As I've been waiting for it for years (well 4), as its one of my all time favorite games, even knocking a few FF games down the list.
Even a remake would do me for the PS2, imagine Vagrant story with the same amount of detail put into it as say FFX.
It certainly would be a bestseller as I do think it has one (if not the best) story lines in any game.
Or maybe they'll make it into a movie, now that would be cool

well, they ar ere-releasing vagrant story on PS1 as a greatest hits, and if that sells well, square would be stupid not to make a sequal. And i've heard rumors that FF12 is somehow related to the world of vagrant story (and FFT + FFTA) because all four games have similar town/world names. Only time shall tell.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure FFXII is being made by the same guy who made Vagrant Story. So they are probably going to be similar in a few ways. So if you're wanting a 2nd Vagrant you'll have to wait a while because that guy is working on FFXII.

As for making Vagrant into a movie. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE NOOOO!!!

Everytime a game gets made into a movie it gets screwed up! Though I will admit I do have a good feeling about Advent Children because it was left in the hands of Square and not given to some hollywood company for them to screw up.

Final Fantasy: Spirits within was left up to square as well and we all know how that turned out.

Eden: I didn't notice what you said about the movie in my last pot. I have to aggree with Rujuken here, a vagrant story movie would suck. There is no way they could capture te feel of that game in a move.

I don't think Spirits Within was made by Square. I'm pretty sure it was made by some company called Columbus 'er something. Square just gave them the rights to use the name Final Fantasy.

Of course I don't have any proof on hand to back this up. Just watch the credits, I'm pretty sure it was made by Columbus. Are you SURE it was made by Square DC8?

Square pictures made it. Cloumbia Tristar marketed it. I think.

Anyway... Vagrant Story sequel? Not anytime soon. Squenix is concentrating on games they think will make money to pay off debts accrued by aforementioned movie. not good games.

Actually, I think a Vagrant Story movie would be pretty easy to pull off. I felt that the game was presented in movie-fashion, and as long as whoever handled such a project stuck to the game, it shouldn't turn out too bad. The storyline didn't have too many irrevelevant time-consuming going-nowhere scenes, and I think it would fit nicely into a RotK timeframe, although that would most likely deter potential movie-goers. Anyway, of all of Square's games (aside from Parasite Eve...Madonna actually bought the movie rights to that one ), VS seems to me the most marketable as a movie.

Oh, and I would absolutely love to see a sequel. Or maybe a prequel with Sydney. Both would be most yummy.
