Final Fantasy Tactics: Great storyline and great gameplay.

Dynasty Warriors: It helps me relive stress sometimes. Releases my anger in a less harmful way.

Tales of Destiny: The boss fights were fun, and the action was icredible.

Final Fantasy: Many memroable memories came with this game. *sighs*

My favorite video games of all time are:

1) Final Fantasy VI (SNES) - Best storyline, best characters, best graphics, best villain, best everything

2) Shadow Hearts (PS2) - It's a horror-RPG that's set in the early 1900's. You can change into demons and stuff. It's REALLY awesome. The guy at the beginning get's punched in the face and his face gets torn apart, and then it like comes back together like magic. It's animated too, so it's REALLY cool looking. It's the "sequel" to Koudelka for the PS1 (if anyone has played that, it's a different story though).

3) Tales of Phantasia (SNES) - This is a pretty awesome RPG too. Never released in the United States before. It has a lot of..."bad" things in it as well. *coughs*

4) Persona 2 (PS1) - This is also a horror-type RPG. You fight demons and use your "personas" to help battle. It's kind of a modern day type setting as well. Has voices too.

5) Final Fantasy IV (SNES) - Was a wonderful game. My second-favorite Final Fantasy game in fact.

NES/Famicom
Dragon Warrior - I played Final Fantasy, but I always somehow liked the simplicity of this game.
Final Fantasy - I played FF4 and FF6 before this, and I STILL love this game.
The Legend of Zelda - A game so classic, so awesome, so deep, that my DAD got more hooked on this game that I did. I remember he even called up Nintendo Power to find certain items, created and copied maps meticulously at work, and rushed home after picking my sister and I from school to continue where he left off.

SNES/SFC

Chrono Trigger - Unique battle system (back then) and epic storyline.. sweeeet!
Final Fantasy 4j/3e - The best storyline in an FF game I've seen.
Final Fantasy 6j/3e - Favorite FF game. Ever.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - I don't know how many hours I invested into this game.
Lufia 1 and 2 - Very rarely do video games cause me to cry.
Megaman X: When Megaman transformed from a "cool video game series" to a Ogre Battle - Oh, the challenge, the strategy, the tactics, the story... and of course your reputation!
Seiken Densetsu 3 - First fantranslated game I finished, and what a satisfying experience that was!
living, breathing universe.
Super Metroid - 24 Mbits of pure enjoyment, puzzles, tricks, and secrets galore.
Tales of Phantasia - This game is just so... beautiful.

PlayStation (1 & 2)
Zone of the Enders 2: Hands-down the greatest mecha game ever made.
Time Crisis 3 - Nothing much can compare to shooting lots of enemies. LOTS of them.

PC
Command & Conquer - The greatest RTS ever created. I was born a C&C/Westwood fan, and I'll die one, too.
Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance - Most realistic Star Wars flight-sim out there (at least until the SWG expansion comes out).
Wing Commander II - A nice, evolving storyline that REALLY did depend on how well you did you missions.

1. Sonic the Hedgehog series. If it weren't for this I'd never be playing games at all.

2. Quest for Glory series. Best way to introduce people to RPG's. Alot of originality made this a classic.

3.Baldur's Gate 2(SOA,TOB). QFG left me wanting more and this series delivered. Great plot and characters unforunatley the end of the series.

4.Legacy of Kain Defiance. Clearly the pinnacle of the series so far. This continues the greatest story of any game ever created. If you love great stories you must play this. Long time LOK fans get a real kick out of this one.

5.Dynasty Warriors Series. Ultimate form of stress relief. Nothing better than a hard day than pretending the person your killing is someone you hate and your Lu Bu with the Way of the Musou.

6.Dynasty Tactics 2. Finally we can conquer China ourselves and look and many more great figures during that historical period.

7.Final Fantasy Series. Just playing these games and I understand the greatness of the RPG genre.

1. Final Fantasy VI - it's the only reason I bought a SNES, and it's the reason I still play video games today.

2. Chrono Trigger - not as good as FF VI, but it's easy, fun to play, and I never seem to get tired of it.

3. FF VII - it's the only reason I bought a PSX.

4. FF IV - it's long and it's still interesting.

5. FF VIII - many people hate it, but I thought it was great, except for a few problems.

6. FF I - It started FF, and it was the second RPG I played.

7. Dragon Warrior - boring as hell now, but it was the first RPG I played, and I couldn't tear myself away from it (granted, this was in '89 or '90 I believe).

1. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (GCN)- this has to be the first survival horror game that didn't fell like a survivor horror game. this game had none of the flaws of games like Resident Evil. No crappy camera angles, no akward controls, no repetitiveness. speaking of camera angles, this game has a PERFECT camera system. in fact, the camera begins to feel like an actual character as you progress through the game. the sanity system was my all time favorite video game innovation. as you lose sanity, the character will start to hallucinate and eventually, the game will begin to mess with your head as well. you'll be playing the game and a message will pop up saying that your save file has been erased. and just as you're about to throw the controller at your screen in anger, the screen flashes and you realize that it was a snaity effect. btw, i only felt like putting a reasoning for my number 1 game.

2. Need For Speed: Underground (X-Box)-

3. Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past (SNES)

4. Max Payne 2: the Fall Of Max Payne (PS2)

5. The Mark of Kri (PS2)

6. Metroid Prime (GCN)

7. Halo (X-Box)

8. Mario Kart: Double Dash (GCN)

9. Mario Kart 64 (N64)

10. Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando

FFVI: My first true experience with RPG's it got me to go back to FFIV and finish it up. First off the music really struck a chord with me and it set the somber mood for the entire game. I really liked that about the game overall. It was adult, both in it's characters and atmosphere. It didn't come off as cutesy at all and that was just my cup o tea back then.

Silent Hill: This concerns the entire series, but I liked the original the best. First time I ever saw a scary game that actually frightened me (RE is not scary folks...it's shocking at best).

Colony Wars: My first space war game and I couldn't get enough. Again, it was all about the atmosphere. Nothing beats going after a ship twenty times your size and watching it blow to pieces as you head to the next target. The wannabe James Earl Jones narrator was a blast too. If you check out the database information they got in the beginning, you really get a taste of what went into this title. They got backstories for their backstories on everything in the game, planets, ships, spaceports, everthing! The sequel gotta a bit smaller and more melodramatic, but it was still a fun ride. I quit after the third one, which was pretty awful, however, it had one of the best space battles I've ever played on a console.

Actraiser: I remember gettting hooked on this when I was young and renting it all the time. It was too short, but God (no pun intended) whatta kick ass genre buster. It was a kick ass story driven SimCity/Populous game that also required some good ol fashioned Battleaxe skillz. The rom I got right now keeps me from finishing the game, but I still play it all the time just cause it's so dambed fun.

Ico: Another game who burns twice as bright only to live half as long. Once again, it's all about the etheral atmosphere and the incredible detail to the characters. They feel real, and I don't just mean the technical aspects.

FFIX: Best one since VI and I've yet to play a more enjoyable and all around solid FF game since. From it's characters to it's story and just plain overall (I just can't stop) atmosphere, it's de ubercute/KAWAII!!!!!1111. It just fills me with this warm feeling inside that somehow bypasses the intense cynic in me. Prolly cause it's so dambed heartfelt and honest and consistent in it's style. Music is catchy too. Reeeally catchy.

The Necessaries: Games that have already been spoken about enough. I'm practically required to list 'em.

Super Metroid
Legend o Zelda: Link to da Past
Metal Gear Solid

My ALL-TIME favorite game is, has been since I've first played it, and (probably) WILL be until I'm 60 years old is FINAL FANTASY TACTICS.

The game-play is top-notch, the story is unparralled, and the characters are unforgettable. There were twists and turns around every corner, a great many conflicts surrounding the main conflict(s), and your party's development was ENTIRELY decided by YOU. BUT, I think the main reason why I chose this one is because Ramza, the main character, resembles me by appearance (somewhat), personality, and outlook on life in general. Ramza is more like me than any other character I have ever played in any game so far, even are childhoods were roughly (not entirely) similar. The player's choice of his character development in battle make him even moreso my all-time favorite video game character.
Here's to Ramza "Ruglia" Beoulve!!

Aside from FFT, I'd say FFVIII (PSX) is tied as my No. 1 favorite games. FFVIII got me into the FF series and is my favorite of the numbered FF games. Favorite characters: Ramza and Zell Dincht. Other faves are:

Phantasy Star (Sega Master Sysytem) and Phantasy Star II (Sega Genesis): These two games got me into the RPG (and video game) genre when I played 'em while I was in Kindergarten. Favorite character: The esper wizards

Street Fighter II (SNES): This game is one of the greatest and shares many fond memories. Favorite character: Ken

Mortal Kombat series: Words can't describe this one. Favorite character: Shang Tsung

Diablo and Diablo II (with expansion) (PC): Got me into PC and online gaming and I have soo many fond memories and memorable moments. Favorite character: Sorcerer and Necromancer

Final Fantasy Tactics

I can honestly say I can't count the number of playthroughs I've done on this. So many things to tinker with. This game has absolutely insane customization, and an awesome battle system.

Kirby's Avalanche

Puyo Puyo is fun. Kirby is fun. Puyo Puyo + Kirby = win. This game has a ton of memories tied to it, so I imagine I'm giving it more value than it's worth. =X

Civilization III

So... many... hours... Such an addictive game. You'll be saying "one more turn" for hours. I've never played Civ II though, and most people perfer it to this one so this game might get trumped. ^^;

Mischief Makers

Great 2D platformer. Very nice level design, insanely fun to toy around with Marina, and the best trio of villians ever. A tad short though.

SaGa Frontier

Lots of people hate open-ended RPGs. This is one of them. People get annoyed with not being told where to go, but it really just results in you seeing more things that you wouldn't have looked at otherwise. The main reason I love this game is the amazing skill system. SaGa games are a blast; try one sometime.

I wouldn't quite say this is my top 5 games, but they sure are fun ones. I could never pick a set Top 10 or whatever, so I just posted ones I like a lot. ^^;

1.) Kirby Super Star

My favorite platforming game, and favorite Kirby game of all time! Replay value is through the roof, and not to mention getting 100% on everything! Unlockable games, and the treasures in the Great Cave Offensive guarantee hours of gameplay well-spent. And...surreal environments?! A Zeromus favorite!

2.) Final Fantasy VI

The FF that would reshape the series, and define what it is today. With a deeper story, characters, customization, and world (s), it's definitely one of Zeromus' favorite Final Fantasies, and RPGs. With a new incarnation on the Game Boy Advance, it'll be sure to please a new generation of RPGers.

3.) Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

With even more refined gameplay than it's predecessors, and an epic story (that probably killed the series...), it's another Zeromus favorite, that he's played too many times to be healthy. Filled with the standard greatness you'd expect of a game from tri-Ace; post game goodies, difficulty levels, a (less stupendous than the other games') Item Creation system, and the hour-eating Battle Collection. Sure to keep you occupied for a long time, if you choose to pursue everything...

Meh. Zeromus will stop ranting now.

My #1 and not-likely-to-be-topped-anytime-soon game is Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn/Throne of Bhaal (expansion). Goodness, talk about a game with replay value! Your characters can be any combination of classes and/or races and there are SOOO many quests to do, many with more than one solution. It's also fun to mix and match different joinable NPCs, each with his/her own quest(s) and personality and who interact with each other in all sorts of different ways, even to open violence in a few cases. It's got absolutely beautiful visuals, too, and I just LOVE the battle system. Awesome AWESOME game!

Other fave games in no particular order (subject to change, as well):

Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike - the only fighting game I continue to play time after time after time thanks to its cool characters and smooth controls.

Tetris - My list wouldn't be complete w/o this gem of a puzzle game.

Final Fantasy Tactics - my fave FF game in the series for all the reasons already mentioned here. I'll also add that it has my fave video game soundtrack.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 - a great turn-based fantasy-themed strategy game that cleared up all the balance issues that, IMO, really hurt 2.

Final Fantasy VI - the game that got me into RPGs in the first place and still one of my fave FF games (2nd only to Tactics). Along with the other reasons mentioned, it, too, has a great soundtrack.

Diablo 2 - Honestly, I'm not sure why I continue to return to this game, but I do. That's why it's on this list.

Secret of Mana - a story on par with the likes of the better FF games, an effective battle system, and yet another super-catchy soundtrack; what's not to love about this game.

Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past - This game's on many others' list for many reasons, and I agree with them all.

Wild ARMs 1 & 2: a big thanks to those of you who recommended these great games to me several months ago smile.gif .

Such is my list for now.
