FFMQ is a cheap piece of BS. I think Square made it for money and Profits!

...
They make all games for money.

I found some interesting information on this website, chronicling the Ogopogo Examiner, what apparently is an old Square newsletter:

You might be able to find more nice information around that site.

Yeah, like your cartridge getting erased if you go through 64 doors in the Lunar subterrain. user posted image

While not as sophistacted plot-wise or complex engine-wise as the rest of the FF bunch, I found MQ to be an enjoyable addition to the series. I mean, come on, it WAS meant to be a beginner's RPG... don't get too mad at it for being basic at best.

In my youth, though, I found it to be very enjoyable and I'm sure it hooked many children onto Squaresoft RPGs that would not have looked into the company otherwise.

I liked mystic quest. I first played it when I was 3. What can I say it got me hooked into trying IV, and thenIII. And now i love all ff games. If it were any more hard at the time i wouldn't be able to play and enjoy it. But I also agree that the best definet starter rpg is super mario rpg. It is easy the story line picks up quickly and gives you a true feeling of rpg's.
