Quote (Hanyou @ 9th January 2004 03:03) Quote (Tidu-who @ 8th January 2004 23:26) I dont get it. What makes it Chicago? (i'm half polish, and i live an hour and a half from chicago..) Unless that's just a random fact or something. It was just a fact. And to answer Doughnut it's a :. Like a clock 5:60 = 6:00. You could also do 56^0 = 6^00 since they both would equal 0. I still think it is Figaro's turn however. Actually they'd both be equal to 1. -------------------- What would Zorro do?-Homer Simpson |

okay, heres one, and its the best i can do with this cold attacking both my brain cells: Two soccer teams compete in the Scottish cup final, Celtic and St. Mirren. The score is Celtic 0 St. Mirren 1 at full time. But St. Mirren never scored. Why?

Celtic scored on themselves? I'm know next to nothing on Soccer, I'm guessing full-time is when the game is over?

A firefighter stood on the middle rung of a ladder, spraying water on a burning house. He then climbed up 6 rungs before the heat of the flames caused him to come down 10 rungs. After some minutes he was able to climb 18 rungs to the very top of the ladder. How many rungs did the ladder have?

A deaf lady was tricked by a conman. She was told that he could make her hear if she bought a single letter (a,b,c...not the ones you send people) from him. She agreed....what letter did she buy?
I have hints availble if needed. This post has been edited by doughnut on 18th January 2004 02:21 |

The conman could have communicated using a different means, such as written language or sign language.

Don't get dragged down in the technicalities. And yes, a single letter. No more, no less.

Say the letter W...Now what's that sound like? It sounds like "double U", as in two U's. Now, if the conman tricked her into buying the letter W, she cant hear what the letter W sounds like, therefore, enabling the conman to get away with her money...But, if you said I was wrong, then so be it.
EDIT: The conman could've technically said W was two U's, but since the deaf lady cant hear that, he leaves, or writes it down. This post has been edited by Calculator on 18th January 2004 02:53 -------------------- Quote Woe to the Defeated -Brennus, Celtic leader |

I still don't understand....I guess I'll have to give you guys this hint to understand it better.
See, the letter that the conman gave her actually DID make her hear, but she was still disappointed with the results. |

There is an object.
