Get Lufia and SoM2 for sure. To find any rom it is easy, just type it in on google. But you definitely want to get SoM2 and a translator for the game, since it is in Japanese. They have made several translators for SoM2, forgot where they are though. Like I said, I just type it into google mate.

Lufia is a great old school game. It's difficulty is decent and it's fun, meant for old school rpg players like myself.

Whoa, whoa, I should have checked in here earlier. Don't give links to ROM sites in this thread or in the public forums in general, please.

Some more to add to the lists: Mega Man X, X2, X3, 7, Soccer, and MM&Bass; Breath of Fire.

(D*** ROM link policy. It could be so much more helpful.)

Edit: (Never mind d***ing the ROM link policy, in response to R51's next post. Now d*** annoying copyright lawsuits.)

Gosh, I'm so happy that there're Lufia fans around here!! biggrin.gif

Other quality RPGs include Enix's difficult but excellent 7th Saga, the Zelda quality action RPG Illusion of Gaia, which is the prequel to Terranigma, and Soul Blazer, prequel to Illusion of Gaia. I'll try to remember a few more later.

There are ways to give him links other than ways that could potentially get me in trouble. Stop whining.

I would have mentioned 7th Saga and Illusion of Gaia but I found both to be bland; Illusion of Gaia especially. Who the hell fights with a baton?

I recommend:

Dragon Quest IV, V, VI
Bahamut Lagoon
Front Mission
Ogre Battle: March for the Black Queen

For translation, look for Dejap on a search engine like Google. They only have translations, no links to ROMs or emulators.

You gotta get Top Gear, Top Gear 2, F-Zero, Stunt Race FX and Super Mart Kart. Those are some great racing games man. I'm not much of an RPG guy so I can only suggest the obvious FFIV and FFVI. However here are some other great games: Gradius 3, Super R-Type, Star Fox, Zelda: Link to the Past, Mega Man X and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. You can't go wrong with those games.

I know where you're coming from, 7th Saga requires hours of leveling up. IoG gets better when you get the Freedan alterego in the first dungeon, he's a sword wielding dark knight.

And hey, it's a flute! tongue.gif

Radical Dreamers, which was translated by the very talented Neo DemiForce. Grab the patch here, at his website. As for the ROM, good luck, but it shouldn't be too hard nowadays.

Radical Dreamers is a storybook RPG that expands on the story from Chrono Trigger. Of note is the fact that a lot of stuff from Radical Dreamers was actually incorporated into Chrono Cross.

ToP is great, as is Liva a Live. The Dual Org games are SUPERB, too. And if you use SNES9x, get Star Ocean.

Radical Dreamers eh? Never heard of it, I might take a look into it, royalknight, what kind of fighting system is it? like Chrono Triggers? that was really cool... oh right, the topic.

Any of those listed above are great, Secret of Mana, has a great battle system, kinda odd story, Final Fantasy 4-6, F-zero is great, and Super Mario Kart is fun, but I must re-iterate... why only a week left?

--------------------
Legend (all based upon MY opinions):

* = Very bad game
** = Slightly below average, disappointing at times, but not THAT bad
*** = An average RPG, typical, worth playing, but nothing to get excited about
**** = Better than average, you should at least check it out
***** = Highly Recommended, great game, Well above all the rest

+ = Will need a translation patch, or it to be already hacked with the patch in order to play it

I may have messed up deciding whether or not you need a patch or not (and vise versa)...a bit hard to remember which needed patches, and which don't.

Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow is a must have. It is the last great game for the SNES, having come out shortly after the N64 was released. It's quality brings a tear to my eye, cause to me it's the last shout of the system that I consider to be the best ever. Farewell, mine SNES.
