Well, what should I do with one? I received one as a gift completely unexpectedly, and I'd never planned on owning one, so I don't even really know what games are out there. It's been suggested that I buy a GBA and an adaptor to play it with the Game Cube, but I don't know any good GBA games, either--I never wanted one. ^_^

I have Mario Kart. That one's fun?

Anyway, what are some entertaining games? Please tell me a little bit about them, if it's not too much trouble. ^_^

Now, is your Mario Kart the Super Circuit for GBA, or is it Double Dash for gamecube? I have Super Circuit, but no Gamecube. If you plan on getting an adapter for GBA, I suggest getting one or more of the Golden Sun series. From what I hear, they're some of the best RPGs for GBA.

As for Gamecube games, I 'haven't the foggiest'! I hope they come out with some of the FF series in GC; then I would probably buy one. But for now, I'm stuck with a GBA, a Nintendo 64, a Dreamcast, and my trusty ol' PC.

Gamecube rocks. There are a whole lot of great games to choose from, and more coming out in the near future.

Legend of Zelda - The Wind Waker - Worth playing if only to spite all of the 13-year-olds who screamed "omg celda" as soon as they saw the screenshots. The game is fun from start to finish, with smooth gameplay and vibrant graphics. Earning great reviews and high sales from the harshest of critics and consumers, Wind Waker is a fine purchase.

Metroid Prime - A thing of beauty, and another Nintendo game to break all expectations. When it was announced that the next-gen Metroid we were all waiting for would be a first-person shooter, many cried out in dismay, including me. But we were pleasantly surprised to see that the game stayed true to its entertaining roots, while bringing a level of graphical and gameplay sophistication heads and tails above the norm.

Super Smash Bros Melee - The quintessential party game, a favorite of the casual masher and the seasoned expert alike. The simple, intuitive gameplay and the fun themes and modes bring this unconventional fighter to the top of the pack.

Mario Kart Double Dash - It's just fun, and the added element of two characters to a kart is less a gimmick than it is a creative gameplay innovation. There's a lot to see in Double Dash, and the multiplayer is top-notch.

Viewtiful Joe - A must-buy, one of the quirkiest and coolest games on any system. Viewtiful Joe pushes the envelope on graphical excellence and fluid gameplay. The game is fun to play and sweet to look at; and it's definitely no slouch in the difficulty department, either. Viewtiful Joe is a good challenge, and a great game.

Of course, these are just a few. A Gamecube is an awesome addition to any collection, thanks to Nintendo's tradition of first-party excellence. I'm especially looking forward to Twin Snakes and Harvest Moon - A Wonderful Life coming out in the near future.

F-Zero GX - A futuristic racer with very high speed vehicles that hver inches off the ground. The tracks are like rollercoasters, and contain half-pipes, loops, upside-down segments and more. It's a pretty good challenge and you race with 29 other racers (I think) at a time. There's even a story mode.

Super Monkey Ball 2 - This game has lots of mini-games, but the main quest is to mavigate through obsticle filled mazes. You control a monkey who runs inside of a ball to make the ball move. The main quest and the great mini-games will keep you busy for a long time. The mini-games include Tennis, Golf, Baseball, Soccer, Dogfight, Race, Bowling, Boat Race, Shot (shoot at targets), Billards, Target (fly in the air and land on targets), and fight (battle with punching gloves).

NBA Street Volume 2 - This is a fun street basketball game where you can do all kinds of tricks. There are many different courts to play on too with lots of background scenery.

Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time - If you haven't played this game on the N64, see if you can get the GameCube version (it's identical to the original). This game gets mad props, and is considered by many to be better than Wind Waker. I hope you know what Zelda games are about. tongue.gif It's an action/adventure/puzzle game.

Need For Speed: Underground - I have the PC version but there's a Gamecube version too. This is a great arcade racer centered around the import tuner theme. One unique and fun aspect of this game is modding your car. Add body kits, custom lights, wings, vinyls, hoods, exhaust tips, underbody neons, as well as straight forward performance mods (cold air intake systems and other must haves, even turbo kits).

I haven't played it, so I can't really give a good description of it, but I hear the Skies of Arcadia game is one of the best RPGs for the system.

I don't know if it's correct, but that's what I hear.

On a related note, http://gamerankings.com is a great site to find out which games are good and which are poor.

Edit
The full title is Skies of Arcadia Legends

Yeah, Skies of Arcadia is a good game. Well, it was good on Dreamcast, at least.

Hey, I remember now that Pikmin was supposedly a good strategy/action game. Maybe we could help you more if you told us what kind of games you like?

Thanks for the help, guys. happy.gif I appreciate the recommendations and the information.

I usually stick to RPGs, but I like racing games as long as they're fun (I like Mario Kart, but not the more realistic games). I'm not usually very good at action games, but I like the scary ones. I also like puzzle games.

Didn't they release a FF spin-off title (like how FFT and FFMQ are) on the GCN?

If you're into horror games, then Gamecube has a whole slew of Resident Evil remakes for you. Though the premise is the same in these, the graphics and gameplay are much more refined, the AI is smarter, and the games are considerably more difficult. There's also Eternal Darkness, a critic's darling that gained something of a cult following. It's a bit older, but still good, and you'd probably be able to find it used at a great price.

And DP is probably talking about Final Fantasy - Crystal Chronicles. I'm fairly sure it hasn't been officially released around here, but those who have imported the game love it dearly. Supposedly it has a number of interesting gameplay features that lend to a great multiplayer experience. It's also been cited as one of the few games where the GBA compatibility is actually very useful, as it allows you to access your character's individual menu without disrupting the flow of the game. I'm looking forward to it.

From what I hear, Animal Crossing is a must have. Personally, I like Gauntlet: Dark Legacy aside from the fact that it is all hack and slash. Also, the game colections ( Sonic and LoZ) are a must if you missed out on them before. By the Way, does any one know if Sonic Adventure 1 was relesed on Cube. I know 2 was, but I didn't like it all that much.

I can vouch for the greatness of Zelda, F-Zero, Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, and Metroid, but Animal Crossing is the one GC game I have that I'm dissapointed with. I had pretty high expectations for it, but for the most part it just bores me. I wouldn't bother with it unless your a huge Harvest Moon fan.

I love Animal Crossing! <3 It is so cute! I think it's a must have myself.
I just got a Gamecube too, and I got the Zelda Bonus Disc, which you can get if you go to the Nintendo Website just because you have a gamecube! Mario Smash Bros. Melee is a really good game. Soul Calibur II is good, and so is the Mario Kart game. I also got Windwaker, which I'm gonna play sooner or later. *L* Those are the only games I have, but I'm actually waiting. I can't wait for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles to come out. It's supposed to come out the 9th of February. At first I wasn't excited about it, but the more I look at the screenshots, the more anxious I get! Yays! I mean, LOOK at that face? Why dissapoint him?

Another game that I am waiting for is Tales of Symphonia. I really loved the Tales of Destiny games, so I can't wait for that one.

I'll shush :D

I just recently played this, and Super Smash Bros. is a TOTALLY awesome game. It's even more fun multiplayer; up to four people. It's really cool sleep.gif
