Story:
Jacob Seig Amin was born to Seigmon and Lara Amin in a small dwelling near the town of Maranda, at the time of the rise of the Empire under the tyranny of Emperor Dantus Gestahl. In those days, Emperor Gestahl was taking the firstborn son of every family in the Empire and raising them to serve the Empire. Jacob fell victim to the ruler's decree and was whisked off to Vector, where he would begin his training as an Imperial MagiTek knight. While there, Jacob befriended a boy by the name of Jaron. While Jacob missed his family greatly and was not always happy with the way his life was, he accepted matters as they were. Jaron, on the other hand, resented what had happened and was in constant rebellion. The boys' friendship grew as they were taught the techniques of magic and participated in the research that took place in the MagiTek factory. Then, one day (Jacob and Jaron being sixteen years of age), word came that Jaron's mother, father, and two younger brothers had been killed in the crossfire of an Imperial attack. Jacob tried to help his friend, but Jaron would not be comforted. He promised Jacob that he would not rest until the Emperor was destroyed, and that he would do whatever it took to make this happen. One year later, Emperor Gestahl granted Jacob Amin a pass to go visit his family in Maranda, for the first time in sixteen years. Jaron was given special permission to accompany his friend. But what was an innocent attempt at friendship on Jacob's part turned out to be a terrible and angering experience for Jaron as he watched his friend interact with his mother, father, and the two younger brothers and younger sister he had never met. Not more than a week after arriving in Maranda, Jacob Seig Amin returned home to find his entire family dead, at the hands of him whom he had thought was his friend. Jaron let every feeling of bitterness and hate he had rise to the surface as he attacked Jacob, with the full intent of destroying the entire Amin family. He announced to Jacob that he would leave his past behind and begin a completely new life, a life that would be dedicated to the destruction of all that was good. With a new life would become a new name. Now calling himself Kefka Palazzo, he overpowered his once-best friend and left him for dead. Only barely alive, Jacob was taken to Maranda where he was cared for and soon sent to the village of South Figaro for respite. Being the only one (with the possible exception of Emperor Gestahl himself) who knew who Kefka once had been (and who Jaron had now become), he actively began to oppose Kefka and the Empire. One year while teaching, he learned of an underground resistance group (the Returners) who were preparing to strike out against the Empire. Not long after this, South Figaro was occupied by the Empire. Jacob remained where he was, all the while wondering whatever had become of the boy he had known as Jaron (and wondering at the same time what he could do to stop him), when he was approached by Locke Cole ...

Jacob: Who ... who are you? You're not one of ... them, are you?
Locke: An Imperial? No, I give you my word. I am Locke Cole, a Returner. Have you heard of the Returners?
Jacob: I ...

[The screen goes black and you are given the opportunity to give Jacob a name.]

Jacob: I have heard of you! I have been waiting and watching for a chance to strike back at the Empire ... I'm Jacob. Kefka destroyed my family.
Locke: Wait ... you're saying you want to join us?!? [An Imperial officer enters the room.]
Officer: There he is! The Returner!! [Jacob and Locke are summoned to battle.]

Jacob: Locke! First I'll weaken his defenses by making him relive the worst memories of his life ... [A prompt, "Select MEMORY," appears on the screen] ... now we can finish him off!
Locke: Thanks, Jacob!!

Locke: Well, the Returners could always use an extra hand. But are you sure you understand what you're getting into?
Jacob: All too well, my friend.
Locke: Very well. Welcome aboard!!

Locke and Jacob reach the room where Celes Chere is being held. Here, Jacob reveals his past as an Imperial officer, and he is partial in what convinces Locke to rescue Celes. When Terra, Sabin, and Locke reunite in Narshe for the first time since the battle with Ultros, Kefka does not recognize Jacob, and Jacob does not make his identity known to his former friend. Later, on the floating continent, Jacob attacks Kefka just after the demented general murders Emperor Gestahl. Telling Kefka that he has gone far enough, he reveals himself as Jacob and taunts Kefka into attacking his old friend.

In the World of Ruin, Jacob is found in Narshe, in Arvis's home. When the Returners find him, he reveals that he was with Banon when he died not long after the world's destruction. He also tells them of his own past with Kefka, the boy he once knew as Jaron. Jaron had indeed kept his promise and destroyed the very Empire that had enslaved him, but the consequences of his choices affected the whole world.

Negotiate - If successful, this command instantly ends the battle, however, the party will recieve only 1/4 of the exp and GP they would usually gain. Success rate depends on enemy.
Convert - If successful, the enemy attacks other monsters as opposed to the party. Success rate depends on enemy.
Cowardice - Removes Cezaine from battle.
Beguile - Halt all party attacks for one turn - the next turn, every attack will be a critical hit, and be of the element the target is weak to. Sometimes the enemy will escape before the turn of power arrives, leaving the characters with no EXP, GP or Magic Points. Some enemies cannot be beguiled.


Appearance: Sprite-wise: a brown ponytail, green eyes, a dull green shirt over black trousers. Built thinly, like Gau.

Personality: A charismatic, articulate and witty pacifist, Cezaine is a creative and calm young man who enjoys nothing more than relaxing on the warm seas outside of Nikeah with a good book.

Story: For several years, the young Cezaine had worked as a freelance scholar, often employed by the empire to research the War of the Magi and the Espers. He lived a relatively peaceful life in Nikeah, in a small house near to that of his elderly parents who he cared for and tended to, and often took trips by sea purely because he loved to relax upon the waves and joke with the sailors.
As time went by, Cezaine began to grow suspicious of the Empire. He had always wondered what they were doing, and, in the back of his mind, he had probably guessed, and as the announcement was made concerning their intentions, Cezaine severed all ties with Gestahl, the Empire and the increasingly authorative Kefka, and, for a short while, worked for Nikeah's shipping industry, where he was never happy - he was a thinker and a joker, his hands were far too clumsy for tools and ropes!
Then came the ruination. Though Nikeah remained relatively unharmed, the events shook Cezaine and he grew to doubt himself. No longer was he the comedic young scholar, as he became increasingly quiet and reclusive. On the rare occassion he did venture out to Nikeahs' trading area, his face was grey and bags under his made him look tired and aged, and all could see it despite the cheery facade he put on.
After a while, Cezaine began to regain his faith in himself, and realized moping about the house would not solve anything. It was not a sudden realization, but a slow dawning, and he began to go out more and more and look happier and happier. He began to research rebellions and organizations against the Empire - though he was a pacifist, desperate times called for desperate measures.
Eventually, he chanced upon stories about a small group who had recently conquered the leader of Kefka's cult, MagiMaster and stormed his Tower of Magic.
Cezaine knew well enough that searching for a few people that could be anywhere on the face of the earth was worthless and a waste of time, and so he hatched a plan.

It was a bright, sunny day in Nikeah, and Cezaine stood at the waters' edge with a book in his hand. Many months had passed. Cezaine chanced a glance around, and, when he was sure it was safe, began reading aloud. His voice was usually soft and calm, but it was now booming, raw, as he chanted in foreign tongue, as the sea grew dark and murky. Cezaine knew not how long had passed, but the winds grew strong and wild and there, drawing rapidly closer to the port was a black shadow, lean and sharp, cutting through the water until Cezaine could hear the thing's lean form cutting through the icy water, until, suddenly, the great blue-green serpent jumped forth and came crashing down, sending waves crashing over the port and Cezaine and overturning an entire ship. The waters ran calm for a second before the saturated Cezaine, but then, it happened again. The townspeople became frenzied, some stared in awe, some ran for cover, and Cezaine joined their ranks as the sea-beast destroyed the ports he held so dear.
Then they arrived. Pushing through crowds came a motley crue of characters, carrying an air of power that made the townsfolk shrink back instinctively. This was Cezaines' chance, as the serpent jumped for the would-be rescuers poised and ready to attack, and he took it. Cezaine jumped forth as one man, an armoured and aging knight, was cruelly speared by the creatures' swordfish-esque head, and, standing before the beast as a man with nothing upon him but his clothes, he looked to it and cried 'Sea-Demon! Wretched beast of the depths! Never again shall you turn your evil form upon the innocent!' And with that, he uttered some words that none could hear clearly, and the beast gave a sudden, heart-wrenching roar, before succumbing to whatever forces were at work, reduced to nothing but an oddly coloured stone.

Shortly after, Cezaine was confronted by the rebels. When asked how he calmed that beast, he simply smiled, winked, and said 'I suppose I just have a way with animals!'

The truth is, in those few months Cezaine put his Esper knowledge into practise. Leviathan was one of the most intelligent espers, he knew, and so he tried to get through to the Esper. With careful study, he called Leviathan to him, and after a while befriended the sea-beast. He taught it of the world's plight, and got it to agree to give it's power up. Working with the esper Leviathan, Cezaine sealed himself a place amongst the rebels, and assured himself a chance of vengeance.

He never told the others of how he staged it all.

Oh crap, I just remembered Mog is a Dancer. So it doesn't do any good to have another dancer does it? I just always wanted to make my own FF character who was a girl and either some kind of chocobo jockey or entertainer. Kind of with a dirty mind and quick wit. Girls in FF's tend to be either wholesome girly girls or just annoying.

Well, she could be a singer. Like a female bard. Her special is Sing, which brings up a menu of songs that you learn throughout the game. They are learned from people across the world (kind of like in FFV). Soem ideas"

Requiem - Damages the undead (and oldie but a goodie) Learned in Thamasa from some townsperson.

Some elemental songs, one each for Fire, Ice, Bolt, Water, Wind (not enough Water and Wind elemental things in this game!), Holy, Poison, Earth. They could have clever names, but I'm not feeling very clever today. They can be learned in clever places too, like Ice Song in Narshe, and Fire Song in the Esper Cave (I don't know, maybe the Ninja would teach her). To learn the Water Song (called Sea Shanty -aha, finally my brain is working) you have to ride a boat from Nikeah to South Figaro with her in your party. One of the sailors teaches it to you.

How you get her back in WOR: She is working at the Opera House. That actually gives you a reason to go there in WOR beyond the Dirt Dragon. You go there, and she is mad because the Dragon is messing up the show. So you fight the Dragon (with her mandatory in your party), and she rejoins. (Of course the impressario is mad - she was his new Maria.)

How to get: These events may only take place after you've obtained the Falcon, and only if you saved Cid's life from malnutrition. Also, you have to have not killed any of the eight Crusader dragons. If you visit Cid's hut at Solitary Island after those pre-reqs are met, Cid will be entertaining a castaway, our man Drake. An automatic cutscene will tell you that he was a captain of the guard working in Vector, when the apocalypse flung him in to one of the chasms created by the earth tearing apart; the next thing he knew, he was there with Cid. After you tell him what exactly happened to the world the past year, he'll automatically accompany you to Allbrook, where he'll discover that his family was killed during the apocalypse. Upon learning this, he'll ask to accompany you permanently. Personality-wise he is little more than a loyal soldier, somewhat bewildered with the new powers that Magicite and Crusader have given him (see below) and determined to stop Kefka.

Abilities: Upon joining, he has no special ability. Eventually his special ability is Dragon, a variety of offensive and defensive attacks gained from defeating the Crusader dragons. After slaying a dragon with him in the party, he'll learn the ability in a short in-game cutscene, during which it will be revealed that he was cast in to the lair of Crusader during the apocalypse, inhaling demonic energies and withstanding their dragon power. Each time you defeat a dragon from then on, he learns a new Dragon attack, whether he was in the party or not. Following are ability descriptions and how they are obtained.

Cleansing (Blue Dragon) 52 MP - heals all party members the equivalent of a multi-targeted cure3, also recovers all from poison, sleep, and darkness.

Defender (Ice Dragon) 48 MP - Same ability as the Golem summon, using 2x Drake's HP as the cumulative safety net.

Time Rift (Gold Dragon) 72 MP - Slow2 + Haste2

Angel Dust (White Dragon) 36 MP - single target only, equivalent to cure3 on a living target, life1 + cure2 on a fallen target.

Concussion (Dirt Dragon) 60 MP - A powerful Earth attack to all enemies (allies unaffected:))

Backdraft (Storm Dragon) 66 MP - A powerful Wind attack to all enemies

Darkside (Red Dragon) 0 MP - Drake's HP goes to 1, hits a single target with the amount of HP Drake lost two times (2 separate hits).

Snakebite (Skull Dragon) 50 MP- Strong single-target non-elemental attack with possibility of slow, stop, or an instant kill.

Story: Fought in the War of the Magi, but evil humans sealed him on Narshe. He lost many of his powers and became just a shadow of an Esper. When Kefka ruined world, seal was lifted, and Titus escaped. You may found him in dinosaur forest in northern Veldt. Unlike others espers Titus was evil being, who dreams dominating world of humans. But Terra and friends don't know that.

While reading this thread, I saw some pretty interesting characters that were created here. I've decided to add my own character to the list.

DarkSword skills:
DarkSide- At the cost of 1/4 current HP, strikes a single enemy like a normal physical attack. Causes more damage with more HP.
DarkWave- A more powerful version of DarkSide. At the cost of 1/2 current HP, strike all enemies with a dark wave. Causes more damage with more HP.
Charon- Sacrifice life to do 2x Current HP to a single enemy. Can break the 9999 Damage limit.
Appearance: Clad in dark colored armor. Wears a black helm that covers his entire head except for his lower face. Carries a large black claymore. His sprite would look similar to DK Cecil's battle sprite.
Weapons: Claymores (A new, two handed weapon type only he can equip), Swords, Atma Weapon. If equipped with a sword and no shield, he automatically uses two hands.
Shields: Can equip any shield. If he equips a claymore, he cannot equip a shield.
Armor: Heavy only.
Relics: He can't equip Gauntlet or Genji Glove. He works well with the Offering and Muscle Belt.
Attitude: Calm, collected, sometimes cold at times, but has a good heart.

Spoilers may be in the story. Read at your own risk.
Story: Monroe was an old friend of Clyde and Baram. He didn't participate in the train robbery with them, though. Upon hearing about Baram's death and Clyde's mysterious disappearance, Monroe followed what his father did and took up the art of the DarkSword to become a mercenary. He was hired mostly by the Empire to fight in some of their small skirmishes. He became a reputed fighter who would get the job done. His last job for the Empire was at Doma. He was on the frontlines attacking from the south. After successfully occupying Doma, news gets around that Kefka poisoned Doma and everyone inside. After that mission, Monroe stopped taking jobs for the Empire, as he felt that the motives of the Empire were evil, even though they paid well. He stopped taking any jobs for a while, and lived off the money he made working for the Empire. He learned that a small group of rebels, the Returners, were hiring anyone who would fight for them. Monroe decided to join...for a price. At first, his asking price was more than what Banon wanted to pay. Eventually, they worked out a deal, and Monroe became a Returner, just in time for the attack against Vector with their ally, Narshe. When Monroe arrived in Vector, Ghestahl had already "surrendered" and was having peace talks with certain Returners. However, after General Leo was slain and the Floating Continent lifted off, the Empire turned on the Returners, slaughtering most of the fighters. Monroe barely esacaped with his life. He fled to Maranda, and arrived just in time to witness the destruction of the world. He survived, along with a handful of people in the town. A year later, he is back to being a mercenary, taking jobs from anyone who would pay the price. The party stumbles upon him at this point.

To Acquire him: He will join your party for a rather steep price: 30000 GP for 10 battles. After the tenth battle, you can renew the service by paying another 30000 GP, or he will leave. If he leaves, he will be back in Maranda. If you have Shadow in your party, he will permanently join your party. You can only do this if you've seen all of Shadow's dreams. Here is the dialog as follows.
MONROE: I will fight 10 battles for 30000 GP...*looks at Shadow* You look familiar. What's your name?
SHADOW: I am Shadow. I do not recognize you.
MONROE: Maybe you just reminded me of an old friend I used to know.
*Shadow has a flashback of Monroe*
After you hire him, go sleep in an inn. Shadow will notice that Monroe isn't in bed. He gets up and finds him outside, alone.
MONROE: Y'know, you look a lot like one of my old friends.
SHADOW: What was his name?
MONROE: Clyde.
SHADOW: !!
MONROE: What's wrong?
SHADOW: That's a name I haven't heard in a long time.
MONROE: You know of him?
SHADOW: I used to deal with him until he robbed that train.
MONROE: He mysteriously disappeared after that robbery.
MONROE: I wonder what he and Baram did with all of that GP?
SHADOW: I don't know.
SHADOW: But I might know where we can find him.
MONROE: Really?!
SHADOW: I don't know exactly where he might be, but I will eventually find him.
MONROE: If so, I will stay with your group, free of charge. I might finally find him after all these years.
MONROE: Well, we've got a big day ahead of us. I'm going back to bed.
*Monroe goes back inside of the Inn*
SHADOW: I have finally found him, after all these years.
*After this, Monroe permanently joins your party. But only if you saved Shadow.*

One last thing: During the ending sequence, Shadow's part will be different if Monroe joined permanently.
*Shadow, Interceptor, and Monroe are walking in a group. Shadow suddenly stops.*
SHADOW: Interceptor! Get going!
MONROE: Shadow! What are you doing? If you stay here, you will die for sure!
SHADOW: I know...Stay well...Old friend..
MONROE: !!
SHADOW: Baram! I'm going to stop running. I'm going to begin all over again...
MONROE: You were Clyde all along!!
SHADOW: I was hoping that you would find out sooner or later..
MONROE: I won't be the only one of us left. If you stay, I stay!!
SHADOW: ...then we will both stop running.
*The rest of the party is on the airship now...Shadow and Monroe were never seen again...*

akira:... you must be the first born child of madonna...

the screen goes to when madonna maduin and terra were blown into the human world, and the gate closes, it shows another baby in the esper world.

esper: oh... she got left behind.


so... akira became the new gatekeeper, and lived with the espers until, kefka and gestahl invaded. and akira is terra's litle sister.

Skill Description: Brawl, Is the function performed by Nestor when he is using the Whiskey relic. It is similar to be Berserk he does major damage, his defense lowers; but his HP goes up by 50% temporarily, he also cannot run from battle in Brawl mode. After the battle Nestor cannot enter Brawl mode for another 2 fights due to a hangover of epic proportions.

Story: You first see Nestor in ZoZo in WoB. He is passed out in the street and says,"The people are great here". If you have Locke in your party in Zozo a short scene will occur.
Nestor: Locke izzat you?
Locke: Hey, Nestor, wow! you terrible!
Nestor: Hey Locke you wouldn't have a few spare GP for a drink would ya? I could really use a....ZzZzZzZ.....
Locke: Nestor, you awake?
(Locke shakes his head and re-joins the party)

You can get Nestor to join after you get Locke in the WoR. Go to the Bar in Nikeah with Locke and an empty slot in your party, you will see Nestor at the bar and a short scene will happen.

Nestor: Whaddya mean your cutting me off!?! I'm not drrunnk *hic* I'm just getting started!
Bartender: You've been in here since morning, time to move on.
Nestor: Well, I'll show you...Grrrr...Brawl!!
Locke: Nestor NO! go easy on him.
Nestor: Outta the way Locke!
(Nestor charges bartender and knock Locke out of the way.)

Nestor: Hey, Locke, you alright? Geez my head hurts...
Locke: I'm fine. What are you doing here?

Nestor: Could you use a drunken brawler like me? I could use the money and I'll try not to be too much trouble.

Skill Description: This is the normal Jump from the DragoonBoots, but its a default command instead. If he has the DragoonBoots equipped, Jump becomes MagJump. This is basically the Magic Sword ability from FFV, but instead of chanting, he jumps in the air. He is invulnerable while he is in the air. He learns the MagJump ability for a certain spell when he learns the spell from an esper.

Story: You first see Travis in Miranda in WoR. He stands in front of the counter at the inn. If Celes is in your party, a scene will occur. The dialogue changes depending on if you saved Cid or not. He joins your party either way.

(If you saved Cid)

Travis: Excuse me, but have you met a man named Cid?
Celes: *suprised* Yes, how do you know him?
Travis: He is my son. *Whole party is suprised*
Celes: Are you looking for him?
Travis: Yes, could you tell me where he is?
Celes: Well, he's on a remote island. We have an airship, so we can take you there if you want.
Travis: Thank you very much! I can also fight, if you need me to.
(Travis joins)

Protect: This skill will take Keith out of combat to perform a specific battle function. Learned skills:
Guard (level 25): Causes Keith to stop attacking enemies for 5 turns. Every physical attack made against a group member will be absorbed by Keith for the duration, as though he were wearing the "True Knight" relic. During this time, he can not be given attack commands.
Horror (level 35): Causes Keith to stop attacking enemies for 4 turns, focusing the supernatural aura of his curse onto his enemies. For each turn spent out of combat, a random enemy is given two random status ailments. Will not target the same enemy twice, and if there are less than 4 enemies, Keith will still be out of combat for the full 4 turns.
Respite (level 50): Gives Keith the condemned status, and removes him from battle for the rest of the fight (or until he dies and is brought back to life with a Life spell). Causes all instant-death and status ailment spells cast at the party to only affect Keith.
Redeem (level 70): Causes Keith to revive all dead party members, at the cost of his own life. Removes Keith's sprite from the current battle.



Story: Rather than helping the frantic citizens of Mobliz save their children, Keith fled the city and barely escaped the devastation caused to the continent. The spirits of those who died that day became enraged at his cowardice, cursing him to never find rest until he made amends for those he could have saved.

Sabin and Celes meet up with Keith at the bridge to the serpent trench, who agrees to join them in their quest against kefka only if they prove that they are strong enough to give him the redemption that he wants. He assists you until you get to Nikeah (though he autoattacks and can not be given commands), then leaves the party, saying that he doubts your ability to carry through with the quest. From this point on, he can be found at the Inn in Nikeah. If you return and speak to him with 4 people in the party, he will reluctantly agree to rejoin you, only if you are able to beat him in combat. As a boss fight, his attacks will cause 2 random status ailments to the party member who gets hit, and he is immune to death spells and clear status.

As a character, he wields a single weapon with two hands, as though he were permanently wearing a Gauntlet relic. He is unable to equip the Genji Glove, Gauntlet, or Merit Award relics, but other than that, it's free game. His primary statistics are Vigor and Stamina, with a moderate Speed stat, and an extremely low Magic stat. Because of his inability to wear a shield, he has a fairly high natural dodge %.

Possible spoilers: highlight to view
If you don't wait for shadow on the floating continent:
One of the anchors of the airship gets stuck on a boulder when everyone's trying to escape from kefka's tower. Keith jumps overboard and cuts the chain with a sword, breaking his curse for sacrificing himself to save the rest of the party.

If you waited for shadow on the floating continent and completed a side quest that involved the two:
Keith intervenes at the end when Shadow is ready to let himself die, and convinces Shadow that it's not too late to live a normal life again. By saving Shadow's life and showing empathy, Keith's curse is broken.

Special abilities: Some MagiTek skills, Magic Sword--
Allow's the user to infuse his weapon with magic for a short period of time. Stronger spells means stronger sword attacks. This goes for all magic. For example, if you infused your sword with Life2, you can kill undead monsters in one go, but revivie everything else. If you infuse your sword with Bio, the creature he attacks is poisoned. The list of possibilities can go on.

Possible spoilers: highlight to view

Story: You first meet Jagazua at your first meeting with Kefka (the day before he burns Figaro Castle). He's doesn't seem very important at this point in the story. He shows up on and off throughout the game, nothing special until Leo's Death. He tries to help Leo, but fails. As a result, he goes AWOL, says directly to Kefka he wishes no part in this bloodfest, and leaves Thamasa and the Imperial Army. Here Jagazua hops back into his MagiTek Armor, and takes on the other MagiTek knights (and wins, of course), making his escape.
Next he shows up on the floating continent, assisting Shadow with the party's escape. Jagazua is also caught between the statues and tell's the party he will survive.
The next time you see him is when you save the boy in the house as Celes. He attempts to deflect the beam, but it hits the house. Depending on actions taken throughout the game, he joins the party either here or when you recieve the new airship.
When he joins, he explaines that he can no longer sit aside and let nature take the course of things. The balance between good and evil has become much too perverse, and the time to finish Kefka once and for all is now.


Whoo, that was fun. I like writing like this, i think ill do fanfictions. Hope you guys enjoy this character!

Locke can find Kendra in Owzner's house, where she stands at the wall opposite of the entrance. She vanishes as soon as you enter the secret passage. If you talk to her before entering the passage, the following conversation takes place:

KENDRA: Hmmm...you're no soldier. What is your business here civilian?
LOCKE: Oh...I'm uh...delivering something to the man in charge!
KENDRA: Why don't you hand it on over? I'll be sure it gets to where it needs to go.
LOCKE: That's a problem see... I have to deliver it directly, nobody inbetween.
KENDRA: What if I told you I've been left in charge of this operation?
LOCKE: *Surprised Face* How can I be sure you aren't lying?
LOCKE: I was told Kefka was in command!
KENDRA: *Wags finger* Don't believe everything you hear. Kefka is a lunatic, not worthy of any kind of command.
KENDRA: Now hand over your delivery and be on your way. I have important work to do.
LOCKE: My business is with Kefka, not you. Now tell me where he is so I can deliver this!
KENDRA: *Shakes her head.* Fine. Last I saw he was down below with the traitor. Be on your way. *Exits the house.*

IF FOLLOWED OUTSIDE:

Kendra wanders the streets in a pattern, entering a building and staying there. If talked to inside, the following dialogue takes place before she leaves the building:

KENDRA: Did you find Kefka?
LOCKE: Errr...yeah no problem, thanks for the help.
KENDRA: ...Then stop wasting my time.

If talked to again in another building, the following dialogue takes place:

KENDRA: Are you following me or something?
LOCKE: Nope, looks like we just keep running into each other.

If she is followed into buildings five more times (whether you speak to her or not), she will finally confront you.

KENDRA: Alright, speak up. What's your problem?
LOCKE: I...
KENDRA: Don't lie, I've seen you before. Your name is Locke, you're with the Returners. You're one of the few Returners who Imperial Troops know by sight.
LOCKE: !!!
LOCKE: Wha-I...
KENDRA: Don't worry, I'm not going to turn you in. In fact, I have a favor to ask...
LOCKE: ...
KENDRA: In the basement there is a prisoner. Formerly a general of the Empire, she has been declared a traitor for opposing Kefka.
LOCKE: How does that concern me?
KENDRA: Kefka has been partaking in horrible atrocities and should be arrested for War Crimes.
KENDRA: Unfortunately, Kefka is a favored servant of the Emperor, nobody else can even touch him.
LOCKE: So what am I supposed to do?
KENDRA: I want you to rescue the prisoner, she could be instrumental in bringing Kefka down.
LOCKE: One last question...
KENDRA: Why am I asking this and helping you?
KENDRA: The Empire is senselessly wasting life with this war. Though the Returners are increasing the death by resisting, if Kefka is left in power then the death toll could become catastrophic.
KENDRA: If Kefka is not removed from his position at the Emperor's side, terrible death could visit this world.
KENDRA: I figure the Returners are the only organization with any hope of opposing the Emperor.
LOCKE: So why don't you join the Returners? You seem to know a lot about us.
KENDRA: ...
LOCKE: Well?
KENDRA: If you excuse me, I need to go.
LOCKE: Wait, what's your name?

Screen fades to black, leaving just Kendra.

"A powerful Mage in service of the Empire. Her dedication to preserving life is admirable and her resolve is strong..."

*SELECT NAME*

KENDRA: You can call me Kendra.

Kendra then leaves and cannot be followed any further.

If you have followed Kendra and gone through these conversations, then she will appear as you take Celes out of the town's back entrance. The following conversation takes place outside:


KENDRA: Wait!
LOCKE: Kendra?
CELES: Kendra?!
KENDRA: General Celes...its good to see you have escaped unharmed.
LOCKE: What are you doing here?
CELES: I was about to ask the same thing.
KENDRA: I thought about what you said Locke...and you are right. I'm not going to help save lives sitting here directing a city garrison.
KENDRA: I want to join the Returners.
CELES: ...
LOCKE: Well then, we'd be glad to have you!
CELES: An interesting twist of fate.

Kendra has joined the party!


Meeting #2:
(18) Vector

Immediately upon entering Vector, you see Kendra speaking to a trio of soldiers with a young man between them. The characters hide behind a building as Kefka approaches.

SOLDIER: General, we have captured the target. What are your orders?
KENDRA: Well I...
KEFKA: Have them executed. Rebel Sympathizers have no place in the capital.
KENDRA: ...
SOLDIER: Yes sir!

The soldiers leave, dragging off the young man.

KENDRA: Do you have to solve every problem with violence?
KEFKA: Watch your tongue you insolent little whelp, I can do whatever I like. I should have you locked up for your rebellious attitude.
KENDRA: I'm just saying...
KEFKA: I heard what you are saying, but I'm the one in power, not you! ITS ALL ME! *Laughs, complete with sound effects.*
KENDRA: ...Yes sir.

Kefka nods and walks away. The party may then speak to Kendra or not, it is completely optional.

Scenario #1: Locke has met Kendra, but did not pursue her through South Figaro.

KENDRA: ...I wondered when you would get here Locke.
LOCKE: You! How do you know my name?
CELES: Well well..look who it is.

The screen fades to black, leaving just Kendra.

"A powerful Mage in service of the Empire...her dedication to protecting life is as strong as her geomantic powers..."

*SELECT NAME*

CELES: Kendra, its been a long time.
KENDRA: You've got a lot of guts coming back here. Joined the Returners have you?
CELES: I have my reasons.
KENDRA: *Nods.*
LOCKE: You still haven't explained how you know my name.
KENDRA: The Empire knows a great deal about the Returners, you especially. You have been a great nuisance to the Armies, General Leo himself has praised your ability to hinder our forces.
CELES: A great compliment.
LOCKE: So are you going to arrest us?
KENDRA: Actually...I'm going to help you. Rebellions are sparking across the entire Empire, even here in Vector.
KENDRA: I've done what I could to let these rebellious elements go undetected. Kefka's policies are growing increasingly violent and he needs to be stopped.
CELES: You always were overly sensitive.
KENDRA: Are you implying something?
CELES: Not really, just noticing how your respect for life made you a terrible soldier.
KENDRA: You'll find I've changed. Sometimes it is necessary to take one life in order to save ten.
LOCKE: Hold your horses here...how are you going to help us exactly?
KENDRA: There are two Returner sympathizers who have gone unnoticed in town. I don't know exactly where they are, but both will be willing to help you if you can find them.
CELES: How do we know this isn't a trap?
KENDRA: I suppose you don't...how do you expect me to gain your trust?

A choice appears:

I suppose you can't...
Come with us!

Choice #1:

LOCKE: We can't trust you...you still work for the Imperials.
KENDRA: A wise decision...still, I will not report your presence. Be careful, things are growing dangerous in the city.
CELES: Wait, Kendra...
KENDRA: Good luck Celes.

Kendra heads north towards the palace, vanishing before you can catch her.


Choice #2:

LOCKE: Why don't you help us infiltrate the MagiTek facility?
CELES: If we can free the trapped Espers and get them to help us, a lot of lives could be saved.
KENDRA: ...You ask me to betray my post by openly siding with the Returners.
CELES: It didn't kill me.
LOCKE: The Returners can protect you if Kefka comes after you.
KENDRA: Somehow I doubt that...but very well. There is a War to be fought and it seems fate has already chosen a side for me.

Kendra has joined!

If your party is full, a party creation screen will appear, Kendra Celes and Locke being mandatory characters and a fourth character being chosen at your discretion.


KENDRA: Alright, lets go.


Scenario #2: Locke never spoke with Kendra.

CELES: Hello Kendra.
KENDRA: General Celes...I'm glad to see you escaped alive. I assume this fine gentlemen helped you?
CELES: ...
LOCKE: Celes, who is this person?

The screen fades to black, leaving just Kendra.

"A powerful Mage in service of the Empire...her dedication to protecting life is as strong as her geomantic powers..."

*SELECT NAME*

CELES: Locke, meet General Kendra, one of the Empire's best Mages.
LOCKE: The Empire? ...Don't tell me she's here to arrest us.
KENDRA: Hardly...I'm actually here to offer some help.
CELES: Help?
LOCKE: What kind of help?
KENDRA: I've been doing what I can to hinder Kefka's mindless slaughter.
CELES: It wasn't enough to stop the Doma incident.
KENDRA: ...No, I wasn't there, otherwise I'm sure Leo would have placed me in command.
CELES: Why don't you cut to the chase?
KENDRA: During my work I have allowed several Returner sympathizers to escape detection. Though one was caught just recently, the other two still evade the authorities, lying in wait somewhere in the city.
KENDRA: If you find them, I'm sure they would be more than willing to help you.
LOCKE: What if you are lying to us?
KENDRA: ...I might be, how can you tell?
CELES: We can't. Our only choice is to assume she speaks the truth.
LOCKE: That's madness!
KENDRA: Perhaps. If you will excuse me, I need to report in soon or Kefka will grow suspicious of me. If you truly don't trust me, find your own way to accomplish whatever business you have in town.
CELES: Kendra!
KENDRA: Farewell Celes, perhaps we shall meet again some day.

Kendra walks north to the palace, vanishing before she can be caught.



Meeting #3:
(27) Albrook

Scenario #1: The party contains Locke (Assuming you have spoken to Kendra in Vector or had her in your party.)

LOCKE: Kendra!
KENDRA: ...Locke?
LOCKE: Good to see you, its been awhile.
KENDRA: It is nice to see another friendly face after the cataclysm.
LOCKE: I'm surprised Kefka hasn't killed you by now.
KENDRA: I've been able to keep a low profile. Mostly I travel to towns that the Light of Judgement has visited, doing what I can to heal the survivors of the aftermath.

Terra: Maybe they knew you were coming and hid it all.
*Terra and Edgar laugh, Locke looks surprised*
Locke: Since there's nothing here, let's go.
*They walk towards the exit, but it closes*
Edgar: What the hell? Why did it close?
Nina: Aha! I knew you'd come!
*Nina jumps down*

Terra: Stop flirting with her!
Edgar: Yes ma'am.
Locke: You did this?
Nina: Yeah, I did! There's a huge bounty on your head, Locke, and I want it.
Locke: Oh yeah?! Well, you aren't getting it!
*Everyone gets into a battle pose*
Terra: No one messes with our friends!

*Battle*

Nina uses the same moves over and over - Charge, Blaster, Attack, in that order. All aimed at Locke.

*After winning*

Nina: *Huff, wheeze* You guys are tough!
Terra: Now, get lost!
*Terra, Locke and Edgar walk towards the now open door*
Nina: Wait! I can help you!
Edgar: And why would you want to do that?
Nina: You've been my best competition in a long while. Let's just say your power intrigues me.
Locke: I dunno, how do we know we can trust you?
Nina: I unlocked the door, didn't I?
Terra: I guess so, but you'd still better come up with some way to redeem yourself!
Locke: What's your name anyway?

*Screen shifts to Nina*

A bounty hunter who's power is unmatched. Where does her power come from?

You get to name Nina.

Nina: I'm Nina!


If you get Nina, a new scene unlocks itself when you go to the Cactuar Desert with the Lucky Moonstone equipped. Nina, Shadow, Locke and Setzer must be in the team.

Nina: Wow, never thought I'd be back here.
Locke: You've been here before?
Nina: Yeah. I tracked a bounty here one time and got jumped by the Cactuars.
Setzer: Sounds rough. Why'd they attack you anyway?
Nina: Turns out that the guy could control the Cactuars.
Shadow: What happened in the end?
Nina: Long story short, I got the bounty on him, and a few nice scars.
Locke: Hold on... What's that?

*Screen shifts to another part of the desert*

A white figure is stood there, wearing black clothes. He has red hair.

Figure: What? She's back? Excellent.... Cactuars! Launch your attack! NOW!

*Nina and co.*

Nina: Everyone! Get back!
*Nina uses Blast on everyone to push them back*
*Screen shifts to a battle*

*Two Cactuars. Once one gets beaten, the other uses [Current HP - 1] Needles on Nina. The rest of the team show up.*
Locke: NINA! Don't act so recklessly!
Nina: You guys shouldn't be fighting!

*After the battle, Nina is back on full HP*

Setzer: What do you think you were doing, attacking on your own like that?!
Nina: It's him. The guy I got the bounty on. Kane.
Locke: WHAT?! He's back? Didn't you kill him?
Nina: No, the bounty was for him to be recovered alive.
Shadow: There's a reason I hunt to kill.
Nina: How morbid.
Setzer: INCOMING!

*Battle, three cactuars*

After the battle.

Nina: Let's take the fight to him!

*Gang run at Kane*

Nina: KANE!
Kane: Nina, how gracious of you to come here. Saves me the effort of hunting you down.
Nina: What happened to you?
Kane: What do you think happened to me?! Being trapped in a dungeon, left starving, feeding on the disease-infested rats! What do you think happened?!
Nina: That's no reason to hurt those who weren't involved!
Kane: Oh, you mean those pathetic excuses you call friends?
Locke: Hey! We might be pathetic, but we can still kick your ass!

*Everyone gets into a battle pose*

Kane: Time for you to die!

*Battle. Everyone can use their desperation attacks and Nina's Blast is always available at four times the power. Kane has unlimited HP, but once you do about 99990000 damage, he gives up*

Nina: Kane! Just give up!
Kane: Never! Cactuars!
*Cactuars appear, but don't attack*
Kane: What? Why aren't you fighting?
Nina: Kane, look up.
*Nina holds up a gem*
Kane: Isn't that my.... HEY! GIVE THAT BACK!
Nina: No freakin' way.
*Nina crushes the gem*
*Cactuars attack Kane*
*Kane dies*

Nina: Man... Never knew how much trouble Bounty Hunting caused.
Shadow: It isn't a job for the weak-hearted.
Setzer: *Searching* Where is it... Aha!
*Setzer pulls up a scrap of metal*
Nina: What's that?
Setzer: An engine upgrade. Makes the ship go faster.
Shadow: I wouldn't be too sure...
*Shadow grabs the metal and wipes it*
*Metal is revealed to be Magicite: Cactuar*
Nina: Magicite?

*End extra scene*

A quick fighter (I can't think of what they're ussualy called right now). 23 Years old (most FFVI characters are in their early 20's). Similair to Locke, and they'd probably be rivals (not brothers, becuase Edgar and Sabin are already brothers, it isn't Star Wars where everyone turns out to be related).

Special ability is being able to select all (R or L) with the fight command, but of course the damage get's divided.

He also has a naturaly high evade rate, speed and stamina, but low defense. Probably an average magic user.

They meet the character in the WoR, and somehow the plot is twisted around to make him neccecary. He comes from one of those cities you never go to (on the empires continent). Maybe he's even the first one to meet Celes in WoR and is important in that way.

He's also one of those cheap characters. Develop his strength with espers and give him two weapons and offering.

OK i have an idea here

Name : Dusel
Build/Weight : Frail, about 100 lbs
Hair : thin, white
eyes : pale, glazed looking, no colour
unknown age, young though
special : powerful magic runs though his veins
personality : a loose cannon, shy, irrational, physchotic
Special : Magic rage, A powerful uncontrollable attack powered by dark magic.

Breif History: You find him hiding in Maranda in the WOR, he doesnt know much about himself but has been watching your party throught the WOR. if you confront him he runs away, but only once, after that he sort of freaks out and accuses you of a bunch of things. after some argueing he trys to run off, but runs into one of your party members. he loses control and torches the building. he starts to appolgize in the next scene when everyone wakes up at the inn, but is stopped by someone in your party, they say they could really use power like that to defeat Kefka. at the mention of the name the boy looks down. and it goes to one of those black screnes where it tells you about the character, it says something like "a mysterious child. The name Kefka seems to bring back the faintest memories, all too unclear to understand, perhaps overtime he will learn about himself enough to be a happy person, but for now, he just wants to move on, and maybe Kefka willl teach him more than anyone else can" so he joins you and the story continues as usual, he doesnt need to add much to the story, until, when you hover over Kefk's tower, he has a sort of flashback, only faint memories of kefka and a little about magic, and the goddess statues. he can't seem to put these together. when you land on kefka's Tower he says "wait, i've been here before, I'll be back...." and then he runs off. you see flashes of magic off in the distance, and only catch faint glimpses of him until you get to a point where you see the past. its of Kefka and the boy, you learn that this boy is in fact Kefka's Son! not only kefka's son, but the son of a powerful esper as well, just like terra. the rest continues as normal and upon defeating kefka, you see that the boy was watching. seeing the death of his father brings back a flow of memories, he goes off on one of his insane magic rages and leaves. you see him run to Mobliz, where he walks in, throws the dogs back, and sets fire to the houses, irradicating everyone. You have yourself a new enemy, more powerful then the last......

Personality: A bit dark, and insane. Not that smart, primal and instinctive..
Background: Zeta E.S.P. was created when Gestahl was experimenting with MagiTek armor and Espers and all that good stuff. Zeta E.S.P. was designed to be just a regular human, like Celes.. which genetically altered powers. However, while he was being created, the 'party' broke into the Magitek Facility and all the fighting caused the project to shut itself down.
A little bit later..
[SPOILER] When Kefka shattered the World of Balance by realigning the statues, the project flared once more. The disordered magical energies were absorbed into his creation pod, This completely augmented the magical and mental properties of Zeta E.S.P. He could now effieciently fuse himself with any source of magic that touched him. The imbalance of magical energy shook the foundations of the planet.. and the project awoke a bit too early, his fullest mental stage not completely reached. Ever since then, he has wandered the world of ruin, searching for Espers.
(If he was a game character, he would be playable: If the party managed to collect all the Espers, their next random battle would be Zeta E.S.P. In order to use him, you have to beat him, however, when he's a boss.. he can absorb magic attacks, and will gain new attacks if an Esper is used against him. This makes the battle hard, as his Boss form has tons of HP, and can use the attacks and spells that Ramuh, Shiva, Ifrit, Kirin, and Alexander give. He will only use Alexander as a desperation when below 1/10th life. Once retreived, his isn't so powerful. He cannot equip relics, armor, or weapons. However, he does have all 'basic' level spells built in (Fire 1, Bolt 1, Cure 1 etc) and he can equip up to four Espers. Depending on the slot (1: Weapon 2:Armor 3:Other 4:Special) and the Esper in that slot, he gains a new form when he uses his Metamorph ability. For example, if Bahamut was equiped to slot number 3, he would have giant dragon wings. If equiped to slot 1, he'd get claws, or maybe a giant jaw. Anything in slot 2 becomes his armor, so something like Siren in 2 wouldn"t be effective, but Alexander would. The fourth slot allows him to use an Esper's Special attack as an innate attack, so Bahamut or Shiva in 4 would mean a good Sun Flare or Gem Dust whenever he felt like it. Any combination is usable, but you cannot use a single Esper more than one time)
Zeta E.S.P. can fuse the parts of Espers to his body, merely by touching them.. and is usually classified as a Chimaera.[SPOILER]
