This topic was inspired by MorgueN's comment in "Worst FF Villains" which contained as an exact quote the title of this topic.

What do you think of "stupid annoying villains" in general, and who do you think is the best, and why?

I personally think Ultros is by far the best. I don't know of any other cretin in a Square game coming close (even Dalton, Ozzie, and Yakra are far behind, and I can't say much about Gilgamesh since I haven't run into him enough times).

"Stupid annoying" as in personality, then Kefka is number one and Ultros is number two

"Stupid annoying" as in a difficult battle, then the second battle with Scarmiglion. I was under-levelled the first time, and I was stuck on him longer than any video game boss.

Bahamut in FF8. HE was easy to beat, but his room was hell, and if you want to avoid the random encounters, its very tedious, and the ruby dragons you have to fight are incredibly annoying.

For me, it would have to be Ozzy from Chrono Trigger. He was very annoying. I was glad when I finally beat him. I also didn't like Palmer from ff7. I felt good when I beat him up.

A note about Ozzie from CT: I discovered that he really does (as do the guides say) have 1000 HP. If you manage to beat all 1000 HP out of him, though, it doesn't do you any good--he's still in his barrier form; it's just that your can't target him anymore and your cursor automatically moves to the switch.

But it is very amusing to see those switches go off and to watch him drop into his own hole. Where'd he get those holes anyways?

In FF4 Dr Lupie and the Magus Sisters were an annoyance. The trio were bright and sometimes ugly and just wouldn't and I was thinking "Silly b*tches I'm not scared or dying here". As for Dr Lupie when you discover what happened to Edge's parents I felt for the poor ninja, really I did Lupie was dispicable and annoying. Credit to Square for coming up with him.

In FF5 Gilgamesh was too funny to be annoying and he had cool music to boot. Ex-Death's minions who teased him were annoying. How dare they think they compare to Gilgamesh.

FF6 again Kefka was too funny to be annoying but his fast ones did annoy you at times. As for Ultros he's the one I want to jump up and down on and kill so hard it's not funny. Stupid annoying octopus wasn't even funny, but its ok me and Dark Paladin killed him.

FF7 Palmer gets a vote. Scarlet's major slappage also gets a vote. Heidigger for being a dolt also got a vote.Rufus was good but isn't bad ass because his name is Rufus. The villian that must die bad and (I love you, Reno, Rude and Elena) did was Don Corneo that horny little munchkin that couldn't get it up I bet.

FF10 It's no surprise. Those damn Guado! They're ugly, They're arrogant, they teased poor Seymour. Seymour was the only one you could look at and even he was annoying.

Then the idiot kills off all the Ronso instead of his own bullying kind, the Ronso ruled the Guado must die

Im gonna say the first Ultros fight. I like his character, but I think this is a tough fight at the point in the game. I honestly consider this one of the toughest battles in the entire game (even compared to the final boss).

I was thinking of stupid annoying in terms of their attitude, and in particular, I was thinking of Ultros. (Yes, in case some random person out there is wondering, this category does include the Pokemon cartoon Jessie, James, and Meowth.)

One of the most annoying enemys has to be the Gezzards from FF8 and the Iron Men from every version. Gezzards are incredibaly weak adn they dont give u anything useful. Iron men well they just pop up every where and tend to beat u down if your not strong enough.

Oh yea, I forgot Palmer. I HATE him a whole lot . I was so happy when I got to beat the snout out of him. He is a coward, he brags a lot, and he is a fat guy continuosly spinning a gun and taunting you. Oh, it felt good to make cloud use his awsome skills on him. I only wish I got to beat up that one guy which wanted to marry Aeris. I forget his name. It was Don something. Oh well.

Don Corneo. I think everybody wants to to kick his @$$ beautifully. He's not really a stupid annoying villain, but he's just plain stupid and annoying.

Edit: And he doesn't want to marry her. He only wants to spend the night with her

Yes it is very fun when don corneo bites the dust

but the most "annoying enemie" and i mean really annoying not just villians that come back.
the villians that annoy me the most are the short stupid rhyming duo Zorn and Thorn from FFIX, to me they are more annoying than Don Corneo and Palmer combied
Zorn and Thorn are the most annoying by far
*they resemble mimes too much

She is by far the most annoying character I've ever dealt with, and worst of all, she sticks around for the whole game until the very end.

It's either her, or the battle judge from tactics advance. If you've played FFTA you thing he's a stupid annoying villian too.

I think Kefka is probably my favorite FF villain. He has that "stupid, annoying" typeset, but he doesn't come off as stupid and annoying, at least in my opinion. I think he's hilarious. Seymour from FFX wasn't too bad, either.

Sephiroth and Kuja were the most annoying bad guys for me. Sephiroth was cool at first, but then he degenerates into being nothing more than stark, raving mad, and you spend the rest of the game following him around and trying to outdo him in terms of stupidity. Kuja was just...kinda dumb and pointless, like much of the rest of FFIX.

Dood I loved Kefka too, if for no other reason than that laugh. When I made that post, I had completely forogtten about Kuja. I chalk that one up to the fact that I've been trying to forget having ever played IX. Terrible.

Palmer yes, but I like Ultros, Dalton, and Yakra.

Yakra isn't much of a threat, Ultros is pretty funny, and while Dalton jacks your ride, he upgrades it for you. A lot of the ones mentioned are mostly comedy relief "villains" who pose no real harm and some benefit you (perhaps with an item, an event-connected benefit, or at least experience/tech points).

I'd say Doom Gaze myself. Sure, you get a big benefit, but at first he'll knock you around a lot plus you never know when exactly he'll show up.

Kefka was pretty annoying, story-wise. I mean, a hilarious kind of annoying. I'd say that Bowyer's (from SMRPG) personality was annoying, too. "NYAAHH!"

Ok, Kefka made me laugh, his theme is catchy and he provides a comic relief from time to time with that laugh of his....

Ultros was just funny...
