I still say it should be green, but I went ahead and hacked the game so I could see what she would look like with blonde hair. Well, it worked pretty well...

OH MY GOD! It's her mother, Madonna!

It's a green. The videos are based off of Amano art, and I've seen enough Amano art to know that he prefers warm earthtones over everything else.

Anyway, I saw the pics on site. Looks pretty cool, but you couldn't change the hair without messing up the colors on her clothes?

To be honest, I could, and I did at first, and then I decided that it didn't look right. So I handed her a new.... leotard? wtf is she wearing, anyhoo? Maybe I'll get one of her original dress and the blonde hair.

Her hair in that pic is more of a yellow green if you look at it closely...if you think i'm lying print it out on glossy paper (if you have any, and no that's not what I did, it's on the back of the OSV Piano book) and look reeeeal close. It only looks yellow in certain lights, that's probably how Yoshitaka wanted it to look.

Well, while Amano's character artwork portrays Terra with blonde hair, I think I would be unable to ignore the fact that IN THE GAME ITSELF she sports green hair.

While Amano designed her with what seems to be blonde hair, I think that the actual portrait and sprites from the game should be used as the authority here... therefore, I say GREEN.

It's important to remember that Amano's artwork is concept art, meaning his designs are basic character designs that are meant to give the game developers an basic idea of what to work with when designing sprites, etc. If all of his artwork was used as is for sprites, about 90% of the FF games' spritework would look completely different. For example, the Fighter/Warrior and Knight in FF1 have blue armor in Amano's designs, but they are red in the game. In FF5, Butz has white hair in Amano's designs, yet has brown in the game. Celes has a yellow-orange bodysuit and no cape in Amano's designs, yet has a green leotard(swimsuit?) and a white cape. And Mog was yellow* in his designs. All of Amano's designs have been altered when making sprites, I think for various reasons. Palette limits, for one thing (FF1). Also, I attempted to edit up Celes' sprite and make it look like Amano's, but the yellow-orange was too close to the skin color and it made her appear, 'unclothed' . So, obviously that had to be changed.

So for various reasons, Amano's designs were used as just rough sketches rather than actual sprite designs. Therefore, Terra's hair is actually green, as per the game sprites, since they are the designs that actually made the cut. Just as the FF Fighter/Warrior and Knight are red, Butz's hair is brown, and Mog is white*.

*Mog was portrayed as being yellow in Amano's designs even after they were designed to be white in the previous game.

I think the best way to describe Amano, would be "Final Fantasy concept artist".

He's also known for Vampire Hunter D, G-Force and other favorites...

He's the one that draws out the characters, etc for the game developers in order to inspire them when visually creating the sprites, worlds and so forth.

Oh and just to add my 2 cents to the topic...Terra=Green hair.

In the game, she has green hair, because she just does. Maybe to give her a more magical look?

I noticed that about Amano. I saw some sort of an art book in a store that featured his work, and every single woman in it was blond. Kinda bizarre.

I like Terra's hair green. That's pretty clearly how it is in the game, and I'd give the final result of the game more authority than the design that preceded it.

Her hair is blonde, check the FMV's, and my freind to the left of me thinks it is urple. hehe.

RRRR. The hair is fickin green alright!? The sprite is green, the menu pic is green, who gives two pieces of crap what some website or even an artist says? Sorry the get roused but it is.

Yeah, her hair is quite green. (Note the picture at the top of CoN). Maybe with a dash of blue-y-ness.

yeah amano does color everyones hair in blond.. yuna's hair is brown but in his art it's blond. only one i remember seeing of his that didn't have blond hair is cyan's which is black..
