Have you ever gone onto a small island in the first world that has nothing on buildings on it and get into a fight with an invisible enemy. Well, I have and when I scanned the enemy it turned into a huge Bahemoth, nothing of what I never seen. It slaughered each of my characters with ease. My attacks did little or no damage on it. I barely got away by running away with one ally still alive. I need to know more about this creature. Has anyone got into a similar situaton.
Just to make sure you all understand, the thing killed my people in one hit. It was stronger than anything I have ever fought in ff6, including all the bosses. -------------------- I will be the mustard of your doom! |

I'm pretty sure you are speaking of Intangir. It has over 20000 HP, and absorbs all elements of magic, to my knowledge. But since it is vanished to begin with, all magic is guaranteed to hit, which means that the spells Doom and X-Zone will necessarily kill it. So will Snare (from one of Gau's rages and one of Mog's dances). Kill it to get 0 exp., 0 GP, but 10 MAGIC POINTS. Lets you learn magic really darn quickly.
You can kill it with physical attacks, but remember that in order to hit it, you need to make it appear, which means casting some magic on it. You can try casting some status magic or a weak spell on it to get it to appear, then try your best to mow it down with physical attacks. But remember that after about 1 turn it will cast Meteo, then cast Sleep on itself (which will make it invisible again). -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. If you like killing it cheap way, i think blow fish would work the best, but i never tried it (btw, no x-zone in WoB, bah all of u know anyway)... Intangir casts Meteo, not Meteor. I believe Meteo from Intangir is survivable with more than 900 HP.

Thats it! He used meteo attack on me. I didn't have more than 900 hp when I fought him though. Yeah, he tore me up. And when he finished me off, I stood up to scream "NOOOOOOOOOOOO". Ah, good times

X-Zone and Snare share the same special effect (stall final attacks of victims 1 turn), so both can easily kill Intangir with no chance of Meteo.
Just don't have Regen status on any party members when you seek him out, or you may get blasted anyway (my glitches and bugs doc gives more detail on this). Just warning you now since the G'FAQs board saw a lot of questions on why Snare was still triggering Meteo earlier this year, and I only found an answer to it recently. -------------------- |

The worst thing Intangir does is that whenever you use doom on him, he will cast meteo in a member of your party (in my case Gau always died..)
Also, I remember that he seldom uses meteo on your entire party for little damage(around 250-30 damage) -------------------- "I like Goblins. They make cute popping sound when they die" Phage the Untouchable "I am love I am true Worship me! Need me!" The Mana Tree (legend of mana) |

atlas, break doesnt work, try doom or x-zone
intangir casts meteo as his final attack if you cast doom on him, he does it to the person who killed him, when he uses it on everyone if you opt to fight him the hard way, the damage is distributed. -------------------- You watch the world exploding every single night Dancing in the sun, a newborn in the light Say goodbye to gravity and say goodbye to death Hello to eternity and live for every breath Your time will come... |

Fighting Intangir the "normal" way is fun and challenging, but bear in mind that he often escapes when his HP runs low, leaving you with nothing but wounds. No AP at all. This happened to me, I had fought him for a long time, and I was about to finish him off, when he suddenly ran away. That was harsh...

According to my memory, Meteo doesn't split damage; it does the same amount of damage to each character when it targets all characters as it does to a single target.
Also, Break serves to make Intangir appear, but doesn't work against it. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. Quote Kill it with Doom or X-Zone and get mad ability points. Actually, You can only get x-zone from Fenrir or the cursed ring(Which I don't think you can get in the WOB), and you get Fenrir for beating Phunbaba in the WOR. |

You can still fight the Intangir on the Veldt, though, in the WoR.

It provides "Pep Up" I believe, which is the most useless Rage/Lore/Blue Magic attack I know. It pissed me off, because when I first found Intangir on the Veldt, I leaped and when I got Gau back I tried it out. All he did was either attack or do Pep Up. This pisses me off because I really want Meteo. Is there any monster you can Rage to use Meteo? I know of none. Does anyone else? |

yea, when I first incounted an Intangir, he was a big pain to kill.
he countered with Meteo all the way and beaten me. (and he was the first enemy who used Meteo on my party.) when I used his rage, it was disapointing that he used Pep up. and since Tyranosaur's rage used Meteo, I feel like I was having some joy out of it. |

If that rage casted Meteo (or anything besides Pep Up), Gau would be nearly invincible. He's immune to almost every form of attack with the Intangir rage. It only makes sense to nerf it.

For a very (very!!!) easy win in WoB, bring Gau with you. Your party can be any level at all, but make sure Gau can Rage Rhodox (little Peepers-lookin' thing in South Figaro). Gau will either Battle (miss ^.^) or Snare the big guy, without putting himself in harm's way. Much more reliable than trying to get Mog to Snare it.
I bring this up for three reasons: 1) Someone said that Gau can Rage Snare, but did not mention what monster was required. 2) Rhodox does not have a Rage listing in CoN. Moderator Edit We're getting there. ![]() 3) It's very nice to know. ![]() This post has been edited by Rangers51 on 10th December 2003 13:11 -------------------- "N'GHAAA!
