What are bags for??

Hiya Guys,
1) Right now in FFT, I am in the begining of chapter 3. I went ot a shop to buy weapons and for the ladies, they have Bags!!! What the heck do bags do?? THey're completely useles when i use them with my summoner or Agrias....Sword are better, don't you think? Why did Square even add bags?  2) RIght now I am in Underground Library 3, where you fight the Lancer dude who wants the zodiac stone...Agrias is level 30, and that guy's level 26, He attacks Agrias/Other members and does 120 Damage....I attach him with Agrias and I do 54 Damage..What's going on?? How can he be better than my guys when he's a lower level guy? |

Ill try to answer no 1.
Basicly, BAG is another word for FLAIL  except often times the bags will give you a postitive status like regenThe bag will do a random choice of the following 50%/100%/200% damage to whoever it strikes. I really dont like bags/flails because of the random damage. Well, I'm assuming by "Lancer guy" you mean Izlude. Izlude is actually a Knight Blade. Anyways, have you checked his armor, shield, helmet, and weapon? One of those four objects most likely has Defense Up points. I haven't fought him in a while, but he JUST may have DefendUP as a Support Ability. Check him and make sure.

They're pretty crappy as melee weapons, and I doubt they were intented to be used as so. 2. Levels are not everything. I believe Izlude was a Knight Blade/Dragoon, which, I believe, probably means he has nice attack and defense, but he's slow. That and how is your equipment? If you have old equipment and he has awesome equipment, the bad guy will be better for sure. |

Hey tas are u sure about those 50%, 100% and 200% damage figures? Cos one time i smacked a monster with a bag and it dealt less than 10 damage, so im like "what kind of useless crap is this", but the next time i hit someone, just for the hell of it, it dealt 70 damage

I'm quotin' you... 1.The bags are for the ladies to look stylish and warrior-like the same time... Hit the guys with the warrior's purse(the bags)....
