Moogles have been around since FF III and have appeared in numerous games, Final Fantasy, or otherwise.
In FF III we saw them taking up residence with an old man, whose name I can't recall, in a place where you needed Possible spoilers: highlight to view to reach them. A testament to their ability to survive harsh environments (they had to get there somehow) the nautilus, the fastest airship in the world, due to rediculously high wind speeds, In FF VI Possible spoilers: highlight to view Mog survived the end of the world FF VII (or possibly IX, I don't recall, though I believe it was VII) had us play a minigame in which Possible spoilers: highlight to view we assisted a young moogle win the girl of his fancy. The end result was proof that Moogles breed like rabbits. Yet despite all this evidence that shows us just how skilled Moogles are at the art of keeping themselves/the species alive, FFT had Moogles extinct now what the heck could have done that? My best guess is whatever the heck threw Ivalice out of the age of Airships, guns and robots did it. I'd like to hear some of your theories This post has been edited by Generic Fighter #382 on 5th November 2003 14:06 -------------------- Club Sandwiches. Not Seals. |

It doesn't go into detail about what happened to the moogles in Tactics, but the only time you get to see one is with the Mogri summon that heals members of your party within a certain radius. However, on the info for one of the places on the world map (I think Sweegy Woods), it does mention that it used to be home to the now-extinct moogle. To see the info for places on the world map, move the pointer over the spot and press the button that shows info for spells and stuff. I think it's select.

Moogles were a delicacy for chocobos, and so the birds ate them into extinction.
Kind of funny how the animal that is extinct in the world is the summon who heals you, don't you think? -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

Well I'm most certainly disappointed in any lack of moogles.

the moogles--they are plotting to take over the world. this is why they are not there.
they saw the war of the lions and the (as they call it) antics of Ramza as a superb time to train the moogle troops so that they can overthrow the world. as stated in the original post, they are naturally able to survive many different climates and they breed like "rabbits". the extinction by chocobo is just a hoax DP. this is what they want you to think. see, the chocobos are in on this too. they are tired of being ridden like a common horse. they actually have an agent that infiltrates your team. Agent Rodney Cobb, alias "Boco". His orders were to look helpless in the forest, in this way exploiting Ramza's weak point, compassion. He is to stay with the team until they either kick him out, or the battle is complete. Afterwards he is to return to HQ where he can deliver the information on human's fighting capability. Back to the point. For decades, at the beginning of the story, the moogles have been training. Their leader, Mog, is a genius at military tactics and espinoge. He proved his abilites in "The Battle of Dragons" where he led a small, but powerful, team of young Moogles against 100 Red Dragons and was successful. IN fact, he did not lose one soldier. In short, the world better beware, because the Moogles are going to return, and they are going to take the world over. How do i know this information? I am working with them. Yes, i am human, but only half. My father is Mog, and i shall cast off my weak human side and join him in remaking this world! you have been warned This post has been edited by the n00binator on 24th November 2003 00:40 -------------------- once you can accept yourself, you will never be alone |

Quote (vivi4ever2000 @ 22nd November 2003 19:11) i Figure all the moogles are now just with the summon and it was ffIX where u helped the moogles breed. Actually in FFVII you played an arcade game where you had to feed a mog, something like that. I think it was called mog house. In FFIX there are moogles everywhere, and theres on couple, whom, after receiving a kupo nut have a child. IIRC -------------------- This one time I punched a bear in the forehead TO DEATH! So they have one in Disk 2, two in Disk 3, etc. Quote (the n00binator @ 23rd November 2003 19:39) the extinction by chocobo is just a hoax DP. this is what they want you to think. see, the chocobos are in on this too. they are tired of being ridden like a common horse. Chocobos eating moogles
I don't think that chocobos would eat moogles. I can't see Boco (from final fantasy v) eat Mog (from final fantasy vi). -------------------- I will be the mustard of your doom! |

i think you kinda missed the point with the horses comment DP. The whole game is made up, and i was just having some fun. It wasnt so much a theory as it was a parody of what could have been. in no way am i concluding that this happened.
