Just a thought about Shinra in FFX2
Possible spoilers: highlight to view Near the end of the game, Shinra analyzes the farplane data and says the energy of the planet's life force could be harnessed into energy, and that they could find a way to use that energy. They could make a city that never sleeps. Thats basically what Shinra Corp was doing in FF7, that could be a midgar reference. What do you guys think? The mako burning company could have named their company after the founder of the technology. This post has been edited by PrinniesDood on 5th December 2003 05:15 |

I've never played FFX2, but I'm not at all surprised at the cross-reference. This isn't the first, and it sure won't be the last. But above all, it's interesting.

The name itself was interesting, but when he started talking about what I mentioned in the spoiler, I started to get curious. Wonder if FF7 took place far in spira's future.

At least one FF10-2 developer did say that they considered the game as a distant FF7 prequel, citing the same thing. See this thread:
Final Fantasy X and X-2 are prequels to Final Fantasy VII (Qhimm.com) It doesn't seem like that's solid enough to be considered canon, but interesting nonetheless. |

i noticed the same thing Dood, anbd it just reinforces my theory that eventually when the FF games do end (yes it will happen eventually) Square will realese one game that links all of them together.

Dooood! That would be awesome. I know the games have had refrances before, but this one really jumped out at me.
