I assume based on your post, that which character is involved is important.

Muddle status and Pep Up have nothing to do with it.

If a character gets 'X-Zone'd they disappear from the battle screen. When you next view them on the menu screen, they are dead and have 0 hp. So obviously, the answer has nothing to do with X-Zone. As already stated, _how_ you first gain the WOUND status is irrelevant. Getting the positive HP afterwards, is the substance of this question.

Guess: Use a revivify on them to get positive HP back, then use normal healing items to fill the HP?

Using Revivify on a Zombie character will just restore them to 1/8th current hp and remove Zombie status. Using Revivify on a WOUND character will not work at all, I believe. In any case, the solution has nothing to do with Zombie status.

Quote (Detah @ 15th April 2004 09:15) If a character gets 'X-Zone'd they disappear from the battle screen. No, they just die. If X-Zone did do that to characters, then the Life 3/X-Zone bug would be much more famous and far more dangerous. -------------------- |

I do not know if that works. I suspect that they remain dead and have 0 hp when you have them rejoin the party. I can't rule out your answer though, because I have never tried it. Perhaps tonight.
I will reveal the answer tomorrow morning at the 2 day mark. |

Haven't tried this, so I don't know if it works, but...
If a character who is dead leaves the party -- such as Sabin, who floats down the Lete River -- comes back, might they retain their status but have full HP? -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing? Im pretty sure that when a party member leaves during a scripted scene like Sabin jumping off the raft or when Mog leaves after completing the Narshe Mines 3 party battle, that they rejoin your party (next time) with full HP, regardless of their status when they left. But I havent confirmed that either.
In any case, that is not the answer I was looking for. Lots of good guesses. But no one is close yet. Hint: This is only done in one place in the game. |

1) You never regain control of Leo so you can't look at the menu screen and see him dead AND with 9999 hp.
2) You dont regain contol over Leo after the battle. Leo is alone in that party, so if he did die under your control, the game would be over and you could not go to the menu screen. In any case, it has nothing to do with Leo. This question involves the regular 14 playable characters in FF6. |

Perhaps... Does it have anything to do with Shadow or Celes on the Floating Continent? Perhaps you've had Shadow die, then you left the continent, then when you came back he had full HP, but was still dead... Or Celes was dead, but has joined you again when you get to Kefka and Gestahl but has full HP?
Just a couple of guesses... -------------------- --sbq92 <>< |

When you defeat Umaro, Mog orders him back to the airship, when you get back there, Umaro is alive with max HP. It has nothing to do with Umaro.
It has nothing to do with the Floating Island. When you get Shadow he is alive and well, full HP. If you place Celes in your party for the Floating Island, then she is a normal character and she either has the WOUND status or doesn't. If she is not in your party, then Celes will appear during the Kefka/Gestahl/Statues scene, but she will not appear in your party menu. This question involves actively doing something intentionally to create the situation of WOUNDED + full HP. Frozen status and WOUND status are two different things. Frozen does NOT mean you are dead. My question only involves WOUND + full hp. The answer has nothing to do with Frozen status. In fact no status is involved other than the WOUNDED status. Regarding the greyed-out comment. I am not talking about their portrait. I am talking about the text for their name, Level, HP, and MP and the word Wounded. I use the default colors so it is grey for me. I do not know if it is grey for other color schemes. I have never given Gogo any commands other than Fight, Mimic, Magic, Lore and Item. Therefore I cannot comment on the effects of Gogo using the Spiraler Blitz. But I would suspect it function just like it does for Sabin. He dies, and his HP _and_ MP are set to 0. So this would not satisfy the Wounded + 9999 HP requirement of my question. But there may be some glitch that I am not aware of with Gogo. In any case Gogo's special commands have nothing to do with the solution that I am looking for. This post has been edited by Detah on 16th April 2004 03:29 |

I only meant that it may be a glitch that I was not aware of. I never ask questions which involve glitches. I do not encourage that. I was pretty angry when the Relm glitch messed up my cart.
Time limit is up. Zed is correct. The full solution: The Vector kid says "CURE" and everyone in your party gains 1 hp, regardless of status. You can repeat going to him and full heal a character to 9999. Any character can do this. That was a bit of a red herring. MasterZed is up. Sorry for late reply; daughter is sick today. |

Q: After the last turn was taken (could be anyone), Setzer is no longer seen on-screen, yet the battle continues. What happened on the last turn, and if any are applicable, what sequence of events led to this?
Name at least 10 ways to do this. Dead or alive, all that is required is for Setzer to no longer be seen on-screen (he could actually be off-screen if you know how to do that). This post has been edited by Master ZED on 17th April 2004 20:38 -------------------- |

1 Sucked by Zone Eater
2 Sneezed away 3 He used a summon with his 3-bar slot (Phoenix) and there is a glicth that make Setzer take a step backward on each miss. And he can be no longer on-screen 4 Infamous Relm's sketch bug 5 Blown away by Phunbaba 6 In the battle before Kefka, someone killed the last enemy but he does a counterattack on Setzer and killed him. Then, the battle continues but Setzer is no longer there. 7 Someone used Palidor 8 Setzer used jump 9 An confused enemy has done Escape on Setzer 10 Another glitch made by 3-bar slot, I can't remember the Esper that made Setzer steps forward. Quote (Ogopogo @ 17th April 2004 21:19) 10. X-Zone was cast and it hit Setzer, while missing some party members X-Zone doesn't remove your characters from battle visually. I, too, will go with Goonies, only I'll add: 11. You held L+R to run from the battle, but only Setzer ran away and you quit trying to run. I see six right answers so far... I'll address the wrong ones only.
Zechs, you gotta be more specific with your answers. Also, Vanish doesn't count as it leaves an outline visible. Goonies: On 3., you are very close, but Phoenix steps forward, not backward, and continuous use will eventually make Setzer start walking back towards the party once he goes about one step past the enemy IIRC. I don't *think* it will work, but I'll try tomorrow to see if Phoenix thru 3-BAR can go off screen. I can only think of a few enemy parties that would be able to let him do it. I can't accept Sketch as I've never seen it make someone disappear myself, and even if it can, it's a little too random for me to check up on. BabaBreath isn't acceptable as immediately after Phunbaba uses the spell once or twice, the battle ends. Escape doesn't appear in anyone's Control menu IIRC (Muddled monster attacks come from that menu) and even if it did, Escape can only target the caster. And Ogopogo, I already addressed X-Zone a few posts ago on this very thread. -------------------- |

Here's the 6 correct answers (I think)
1 Sucked by Zone Eater 2 Sneezed away 3 Died in a battle before Kefka 4 Palidor 5 Jump 6 L + R Then my next tries: 7 Maybe that 3-bar slotted Phoenix make Setzer step forward, but I know that there is one that makes him step backward. I don't remember which one ![]() 8 A confused Strago that have done his desperation attack on Setzer (?) 9 A confused Gau that have done Evil Oscar rage (sneeze) on Setzer (that remember me a certain #2...) 10 In FF6j, Setzer used the Equip anything bug and took an item that, when you attack with it, make you disappear, take a step forward or take a step bacrward. P.S.: Sometimes Sketch's bug isn't as random as we think. On some enemies, the same bug always appears like Intangir, Wirey Drgn, Doom Gaze. I don't know why but it's cool ![]() This post has been edited by Goonies on 18th April 2004 14:04 -------------------- «À l'aventure compagnons, je suis parti vers l'horizon! Quote (Goonies @ 18th April 2004 08:59) 8 A confused Strago that have done his desperation attack on Setzer (?) Confused characters can't do desperation attacks. Here's my next guess: 1. Palidor was cast 2. Setzer Jumped 3. Setzer was Sneezed away (e.g. Brachosaur, Hoover, etc.) 4. Zone Eater Engulfed Setzer 5. You tried to Run away, and Setzer did, but then you stopped running 6. Setzer was killed on one of the tiers of the final battle by a dead monster's counterattack 7. 3-BAR came up and it picked Palidor 8. Magicite was used and it picked Palidor 9. Confused Mog Dances, it picks Snowman Jazz, Love Sonata, or Dusk Requiem, and then it does Snare (this one is false, I just tried it) 9A. Some character other than Setzer Jumps, then one of the remaining characters does a Smoke Bomb 10. Jump/Launcher bug occurred (ok, I know this violates the no-glitch rule, but...) Bold indicates my changes (#9A does work for sure, I just did it) This post has been edited by Ogopogo on 18th April 2004 22:04 -------------------- Food is like magic in my ears. - Djibriel Ogopogo lives. |
