Quote (MogMaster @ 28th February 2004 01:28) Equp gogo with The Throw command only Gogo with only the Throw command just attacks. I thought throw was disabled in the arena as not to throw powerful weapons, and I made sure to test this out in game. Gogo, does infact, just attempt to attack when his options are Mimic and Throw in the arena. Give Gogo Mimic and Tools, only have the Drill, and equip the Sniper Sight and a good enough weapon to kill it whether Gogo attacks or uses Drill.

You could just use Gogo with only Mimic set, equipped with a Sniper Sight, Merit Award, and ValiantKnife. Gogo will always attack, and will always hit with enough damage to kill the cactrot.

Put Gogo in with Blitz and Mimic - the other two skills empty, and no Espers.
Noting Black Mage's post below, do this before Sabin has Spiraler and after he has Bum Rush. There were actually 2 solutions that do work. Gogo got one of them. (Was specifically looking for a weapon that ignores defense, because otherwise every attack will do 1 damage.)
The other would be either Gogo, or Umaro using Sniper Sight AND an Offering. If gogo, just make sure Mimic is the only thing set, and for Umaro, his only 2 scripts are Fight, and special attacks. His special attacks ignore defense. Either way, when they do normal attacks, 4 hits for 1 damage = Dead Cactrot. I would have given it to you Neal had you specified a weapon that would haved worked. I'm fairly sure that any weapon that doesn't ignore defense won't do more then 1 damage to Cacrots. Edit: Verified that no weapon that doesn't skip damage mod would do more then 1 damage to a Cacrot. Due to the fact that Cacrot has 255 defense, and the damage calculation is as follows. Defense modification Damage = (Damage * (255 - Defense) / 256) + 1 Which whel calculated out would be. T = (D * (255-255) / 256) +1 T = (D * (0) / 256) + 1 T = (0 / 256) +1 T = (0) +1 This post has been edited by Fadien on 28th February 2004 14:56 -------------------- "And that, my liege, is how we know the Earth to be banana-shaped” -Sir Bedevere the Wise |

Whatever his weapon is, he will always do a minimum of 4 damage. Since the Cactrot has only 3 hp, he will die instantly. EDIT: Forget that! I wrote this a few minutes after Fadien wrote the answer! Okay then, here's my question:
I have a character in battle who is dead and also confused (with the green swirly thing over their body). When I revive the character they are still confused. How is this possible? |

Could it be that they had Zombie status. I can't recall seeing a confused zombie, but I don't know why it couldn't happen. Then you use revivify(sp?) instead of remedy to bring em back. viola

They are wearing the Cursed Shield, which causes BERSERK, COUNT, MUDDLE, MUTE and SEIZURE. Even when dead, Im pretty sure they 'still' have those statuses.

He's probably referring to Rage and how if you start a Rage while in a status that Rage is immune to, that status becomes permanent until you die and revive, at which point you're no longer immune but still retain the status through death.

You give someone the thiefknife and target Strago. If you're lucky, you'll have, well, absolutely nothing.
EDIT: I thinking about something (yes, it arrives sometimes!). If you wrote STEAL in capitals, maybe it's because that you want us to use the command STEAL. If that's true, you only have to muddle Locke or Gogo (with steal command only, you have more chances) and be patient. But, I think that he don't give items. You are correct.
Too easy I guess. I had never actively tried to do this before, but a few days ago the situation occured naturally. Locke stole from Strago and I thought that was interesting. The full answer is select STEAL for Locke or Gogo to attack a normal enemy. Then before that person's turn, cast Muddle on them. Locke or Gogo will then randomly target a party member and try to STEAL from them. You cannot steal an item, but rather you will always get the same message "Doesn't have anything." I guess it would make just as little sense to 'get' an item, since FFs have shared inventories, you would be essentially taking 1 item from your inventory and putting it back in again. |

the psycho cyan trick.
get cyan to do the "retort" swdtech, cast "imp" on him, and kill him with one physical attack or lots of magic (make sure its only ONE physical attack that kills him, be it from you or an enemy), revive him with a life spell or a pheonix down, and attack him. he'll kill anything until the battles over. if this is the case, and im pretty sure it is, your party members, your level and where you happened to be in the game were all unneeded. i guess it was just to set the scene. -------------------- You watch the world exploding every single night Dancing in the sun, a newborn in the light Say goodbye to gravity and say goodbye to death Hello to eternity and live for every breath Your time will come... |

Does Celes have imp at this point in the game? Cause it's before you get the ability to learn magic for anyone else

You got it! Actually, you can cast IMP on Cyan before or after you kill and ressurect him. But, you don't have to attack him in order to start the «Psycho killing Cyan bug». You only need someone to make an action (it can be Cyan) and Cyan will counterattack any action (that's because you kill him before he can do his retort [BUG #1]). After, he will couterattack his own action (because the imp status block the status «Retort» [BUG #2]) until the battle is over. Enjoy the massacre!
