Sure. Post away. Anyone may post the next question. If no one posts by noon EST today, I will post a new one.
No one has posted so here it goes. Name 7 ways that Terra can give the POISON status to someone. (note: no Rippler/Rage or Rippler/Dance tricks) This post has been edited by Detah on 23rd January 2004 18:12 |

I'd have to go with the seven above, except the Rippler one, because it seems like he said "No Rippler".
For the replacement seventh, I'd have to go with Merit Award, equipping the Poison Claws. |

You are still one short of the 7; 2 short of all 8 possibilities. Jakaed got #6 Merit Award + Attack with Poison Claws. One method left. Its a toughie. If no one wants to try, then Jakaed is up for getting 7 correct. I'll give away the #8 method over the weekend sometime. Addendum: No one guessed the other Poison attack method. The final list is: Poison, Bio, Attack while infliced with Zombie status, Poison Rod, 'Use' Poison Rod, MagiTek BioBlast, Poison Claw and the Desperation Attack Riot Blade. Jakaed is up. Tempest may be an abnormal spell-casting weapon, but no exclusions were posed and thus it should be part of the answer.
However, it doesn't matter, as he was declared correct, and that's all that is required for the game to continue. ![]() -------------------- |

I am so confused byt he last six posts... what does an Itangir have to do with anything?
And Riot Blade, of course. All I know about desperaion attacks is that they kill stuff more dead then the character normally can on their own. Hmm. Trivia, trivia... Who is Aishya? (Who, what, where, when and why? I'm sure all of those are answerable, somehow.) |

Aishya is the name of the woman that soldier is chasing around (or is she chasing him?) in Maranda in the WoB. I think there's some hint about marriage there?

Jakaed has not replied regarding sbq92's answer and over 2 days have passed.
If you are going to post a question, please come back and check on answers periodically. Here's the next question. What is Strago's max Magic Power, without using any Esper levelup bonuses? Bonus: with Esper levelups. |

Sorry, that was my bad. I've been out for the weekend.
Yes on Aishya, sbq92. She says "Wanna get hitched?" You can take that any way you want, marriage or no. ![]() To Detah's question... I really wish I knew his (or anyone's) base Magic Power. Either way its uh... +29. Unless Earrings have some hidden numeric value that isn't written anywhere in the game. And I wouldn't know any stats like that unless I were to crack open ROMs and bask in their gooey innards. Either way, for the bonus, It should be... 157. +7 from the Magus Rod, +6 from the Behemoth Suit, +7 from the Paladin Shield, + 5 From the Magus Hat, and +2 from each Barrier Ring. I know Strago's (along with everyone else's) starting Magic Power was posted in some thread a while ago... I'm not going to hunt for it though. I guess whoever finds it can just add 29 and ask the next question. ![]() |

No. And No. Both answers are wrong.
And as a side note: The Paladin Shield does not provide any stat bonuses. This post has been edited by Detah on 2nd February 2004 23:56 |

Paladin shield not giving stat bonuses? I'm... pretty sure it does. Either way, since I double checked with the weapons and armour tables on the site, somebody's got to change them.
I was pretty sure The Paladin Shield gave +7s across the top. As like... an opposite to the Cursed Shield. Muh. Whatever. I'll just wait until someone is right, then. And read that. |

I guess no one is interested in this question. Here is the solution.
Strago's starting Magic Power is 34. +7 Magus Rod +7 Magus Rod +5 Magus Hat +6 Behemoth Suit +2 Barrier Ring - Genji Glove ========= 61 The absolute lowest level you can acquire Strago is L8. 99-8=91. (number of Esper levelups available) 91x2=182. (Total Magic Power points from Espers) 182+61=243. (Strago's Maximum Magic Power stat) I am on track to reach this max during my current playthrough. It should be interesting to see how much damage a Bolt 2 spell can do. I'm especially interested to see what it takes to max out (9999 dam) the L2 spells. (Earrings, Hero Ring, Morph, target weak vs Element, etc may be required.) Anyone may post the next question. EDIT: I was just informed that stat boosts from Espers cap at 128. So ol Strago can only put 64 of those 91 +2 levelup bonuses into Magic Power. Making his Magic Power max 128+61=189. I'm so glad I didnt waste my time leveling up yet. I think Ill divide those remaining 27 levelups between Vigor and Speed. Vigor for the Heal Rod/Magus Rod and Speed for...well, Speed is always good. Offering is wrong. It cancels weapon-cast spells.

Because Throw removes all specials except Elemental. Thats why I guessed Rage. I thought Rage did the same thing.
hmm, lets see. Cyan's Swordtechs, like Dispatch. |

Heh, no, if Rage did that, we would not have the Wind God (Gau w/ Merit Award/Tempest).
And contrary to popular belief, SwdTech's attacks have nothing to do with weapons. The ONLY part of SwdTech that a weapon affects is availability. This post has been edited by Master ZED on 6th February 2004 21:36 -------------------- |

So Cyan would have to have a Merit Award, since he can't normally equip them...since they say they allow for SwdTech, wouldn't that be the right answer? Or are you looking for more of a direct attack that somehow circumvents the draining?

Neal: Yep, I'm looking for an attack involving the Drainer itself, hence the Throw exclusion since if I left that in, the question would have been too easy.
One more hint; the attack in question belongs to a person that can equip the Drainer w/out Merit Award, along with Gogo. -------------------- |
