It's 35:

24 that you talk to and 5 that you have to beat when you talk with them.

Edit
I'll make even clearer:

Each guard fought: 4 points each (20 points total)
Each guard talked to: 1 point each (24 points total)

Making a total of 44 points before the "question period".

He wasn't talking about "how many invisible points can you get", he asked 'how many soldiers can you talk to that increase the "soldiers spoken to" message'.

My answer is still valid: 35, I was just giving more details. Please don't sue.

Its irrelevant. The highest "soldiers spoken to:" message you can get is 24, unless there's some soldiers hidden in some super secret rooms that you can only get to through a walk-through-walls cheat with game genie.

Why are you (female doging) on me when I'm not the only one with a bad answer?

And where does the question specifies the "Soldiers spoken to" message?

Quote
Whats the max number of soldiers you can talk to, before the banquet?(Only ones that give you points count)

My guess is still valid! It's trivia! I'll only accept a "it's not the good answer" from the guy who asked the question.

That better? What he means by "only the ones that give you points" refers to the fact that you can speak to certain soldiers in the facility and not have them increase the count. Example: the soldiers in the throne room that say "dinner preparations are underway". You can talk to them, but they won't increase your points.

I know, that's why I explained my guess that is 35. I knew about the ones that didn't give points, that's why I explained my "higher than normal" answer. I never mentionned the useless soldiers in my answer.

Close, but not quite smile.gif imperial is closest

35 is closer to 40 than to 26. If it was 35, Megayummysoup would've been listed as closer by the question maker.

You talk/fight the extra couple guards during the banquet, so I'm assuming they don't count. Pretty sure the answer is 24 anyway, but we'll wait for confirmation first.

Is it 24? I seem to remember running around like a nutcase with about 22, trying to get the last few, so I'll guess 24. (I guess I could go look it up in an FAQ, but that takes the fun out of it for me.)

Edit -
Oh, I see someone had guessed 24 before me. I had it bookmarked on p50, so I didn't read that. But it's still the active question.

Very well then, apology accepted. Try this on for size:

What boss enemy in the game does a kick attack virtually identical to Yang's kick from FF IV and the Monk's kick from FF V?

Wow. I'm like... honored.

This one will be terribly easy, I'm sure, but what was the domestic (American) name of Final Fantasy VI Original Sound Version?

This is the last time I tell you. Do not make questions that require knowledge of other games. This is an FF6 trivia thread, not a general video games trivia thread. If you want to make broad cross game questions, go to the General Squenix Gaming section of the CON forums. It is specifically designed for cross game questions and comments.

I thought this was a very fun thread. But some of you are intentionally trying to ruin it for everyone. I figure if you continue to ignore the rules, then the moderators are going to lock this thread. Then no one gets to have any fun.

Oh, come on. I certainly am not "trying to ruin it for everyone." I was just trying to come up with a question that wouldn't be ass-easy. Would you like any cheese with your whine?
