Pardon me I believe you can get a wall ring earlier, once you've finished the battle for narshe against kefka. Its in the rich man's house in one of the chests.

Close but no cigar. Remember, the question is when you get them, not where. No hint, unless you consider my last sentance one.

You can get the running shoes during the first visit to south figaro, not just during Locke's scenario.

Okay, you got it, your turn to give a question Neal. Too bad Keith you just barely missed it, maybe you will answer the next question. I love those Running Shoes. I was expecting the Thunder Rod to be the big toughie.

Not really. The Thunder Rod is popular for use against TunnelArmr, so someone not knowing about it would be surprising.

Woo thank you.

Alright, not a hard question but one that could require a little thought. Ignoring any outcomes from abuse of slot/magicite, when is the earliest point in the game in which you can obtain the Gaia Gear, and how many of your characters (at the time) are able to wear it right away?

You can steal it from the Baskervors outside Thamasa, which would mean it could then be equipped by Shadow, Locke, and Celes. There may be an earlier point, though.

There are only two enemies it can be stolen from, Baskervor and Latimeria. Latimeria is found in the World of Ruin, so we'll knock that one out. Baskervors are found on the island where Thamasa is, and ALSO in the area of Nikeah.

There's just one problem. The earliest point in the game in which you can reach Nikeah is through the Serpent Trench in Sabin's scenario, which doesn't include Locke, so no stealing. So, I'd have to say that io_rage is right on this one...EXCEPT...

You can grab a ThiefKnife from either Dadaluma or steal one from a Slam Dancer in Zozo, long before you ever reach the island of Thamasa. Shadow can equip this, and since he's in your party at the time of arrival on the island, he can randomly steal a Gaia Gear from a Baskervor.

Those who can equip it at the time that it's stolen would be Locke, Shadow, and Terra. Celes is not in your party at this time. She goes with General Leo, IIRC.

Rubicant got it. Terra and Locke go to the island with Shadow, and Celes/Leo go off somewhere... else.

Don't want the question though, so someone else grab it.

a fairly simple one: what is (hypothetically) the highest amount of damage one can do with one selection of an action? hint: so that isn't the number that pops up, as that is limited to 9999

Actually that question can get quite interesting, if we're talking about highest amount of damage per one selected option! Obviously there's the genji glove/offering combo for 8 hits of 9999 damage each, but that's just not interesting enough! After all, that's only 79992 damage!

Lets pretend we're in a fight with Hidon and his 4 little Hidonites, and we've got the Crusader esper. Lets also pretend that the person equipped with the crusader esper has a maxed out "magic" stat and is level 99, and that everyone in the party is unequipped completely. Why you would do this, I have no idea. However.

Use the crusader esper attack, which will launch a mass fire-damage attack against all enemies and allies on the screen. Hopefully with a maxed out magic stat (and with all your party members unequipped so that they have low mag. def), you should hit 9 things with the attack - 4 party members, 4 hidonites, and hidon himself - for 9999 damage. That means we get a final tally of 89991 damage! Woo! biggrin.gif

(Also: if you need to, you can use the debilator to make all the hidonites and hidon weak vs fire)

If I win this, I'm passing up the question for now.

That's not the right answer, and there are no Baskervors around Nikeah (WHOAMG RUBES IZ RONG! tongue.gif). The earliest point is when you acquire the Airship, you can fly to Crescent Island and encounter the Baskervors then.

Information obtained on CoN's FF6 Enemies page, so technically, they are wrong, not me. Bwa ha.

I don't wanna sound stupid or anything but the game has moved on from rubicant's question, but never mind. at any rate, keith gets it. I was thinking of the genji glove/offering combo, but you get a cookie for thinking outside the box. *hands a cookie* technically you can get more than that; it depends on the highest number of enemies one can have. I was about to say 'keith, you're up' but on his bidding, it's up for grabs

I am 99% certain that Crusader is a non-elemental attack. So the fact that Hidonite #3 is immune to Fire and Debilitator usage are irrelevant.

Your Crusader answer is very ingenious. Good job.

Of course, stealing your methodology, one could attack 10 targets...the Hornets appear in 1 formation of 6. Which incidentally are Weak versus Fire (irrelevant now). So targetting 10 with 9999 damage causes 99990 damage! woohoo

Detah, that is what I thought too, except CoN database lists Crusader as fire elemental. I have no idea if this is true or not because I don't have a save in WOR. Mertron which can also hit the enemies and your party definatly is though. Now for a question:

The relic ribbon guards against almost all status ailments. Name the ailments you can guard against when you can first get it. I do not want all the status effects in the game, just the ones you can get by the first time you get it.
Edit
Bare with me here it is late and I can't remember the exact terminology

not wanting to make a discussion on the subject, but look on the CoN espers section.

Hornets never appear in groups of 6. Deep Eye does, Luridan does, Bomb does, Balloon does and Psychot does. Technically Flan do it to, but I don't think you ever get to see all six of them.

Maybe when casting Life3 on the first one, then on all three of them? Bah, I'm over-doing it anyway wink.gif

Probably not. If it's triggered by FC 12, Life 3 will stop it from happening since the status will keep them from dying. Of course, there's an exception there for the undead, but Flan aren't undead.

Edit
However, delayed Life/Life 2/(Muddle/Phoenix) spells will not work on the Flans that fade out. It will work on the ones that die normally, so you can get four Flans in that group alive... but since there's already a four Flan group, it's kinda pointless.

Is it not my turn to ask a question or somthing? I thought Rubicant was joking with the way he edited his post. Just in case he wasn't the answer is Magus. Now can we get back to my question above? I think that a max possible damage discusion would be great in the right place. I don't think this is it though, is it??? I think it is my question at the moment though because he said it was up for grabs.
Edit
Or was Strago's last name Arrowny? Come to think of it I forgot.

Yeah there's an old lady in Thamasa's item shop in WOB that says Strago isn't Relm's real grandfather, but a friend of her mothers.

And it's obvious Shadow's the daddy. That's why Relm's the only person besides him who Intercepter doesn't maul!

Nope, I just double checked and it is still my somewhat easy question, about the ribbon. It has been at least two days since Rubicant last posted when I asked it. Here it is again.

By it of course I meant the ribbon. By ailment I meant things like poison and confusion.

I will give up the answer tomorrow and then it will be up for grabs. Anybody can get it sooner if they give me the answer.
