Yea I used the instruction booklet to get the answer. We'd best follow the rules and wai for confirmation regardless.

Yes indeed it is Strago. I'm sorry I didn't get back any earlier, especially since school just started.

The question goes to (not exactly Gaius Julius tongue.gif) Caesar.

Meteo, actually (yes, there's a pretty significant difference). Also, you want Snare, preferably from Rhodox Rage, because it can stall final attacks and therefore stop Meteo. Doom will just doom the caster if their M.Block is insufficent.

I'm pretty sure the 2 day limit has passed for the last question, and it seems the thread needs to be jump started, so I'll ask a (somewhat) easy question.

How do you get Mog's Water Rondo dance?

With Mog in your party, win a battle on the Lete River or in the Serpent Trench. Don't let him Dance to change the battle background to a different area, or the battle won't count.

Throughout the game, many of the best items are found in treasure chests, and some of them can only be found in chests. However, there is one class of equipment (for example, brush, katana, shield, relic, etc.) that you never find in chests and must always acquire in other ways. Which type of equipment is it?

Special is close, but you can find a Wing Edge in a chest in the Phoenix Cave. Keep guessing! smile.gif

Well, as the only Knife in the game you find beyond winning/stealing/whatever is the Murasame is located in an Orb, so you could argue that's not a chest.

However, that's probably not the answer you're looking for. So I'm saying Lances here.

I think it's spears. You don't find any of those in chests, only buying and winning.

Okay. There is one poison-elemental attack which pierces defenses. Name it.

It's been 6 days since last post, so I'll use my first ever post on CoN to take advantage! W00T!

Ok, question. hands on buzzers everybody:

how many different sprites are there for blocking an attack, i.e. a shield or something appears in front of the character blocking, and the word 'missed' popping up by him. there are some extra credit ones in mind, as well as some that are valid but can't work out the reason of.

also, I declare that if djibriel or other poster with complex questions answers then I put it up for grabs.

There are only two ways in which a question becomes up for grabs:

1. The time limit runs out on their posting a new question,

2. The answerer puts it up for grabs.

You can't control whether the person who answers the question can produce a new question or not like this. If Djibriel, myself, or someone else like us decides to answer and throw up something akin to "I encountered a Leafer outside the Veldt in the WOR and Strago learned L.5 Doom from the encounter. How could this happen and where did it happen" you can't stop them. That's not part of the rules and it never will be.

ok, sorry, i was just saying that cos I feel you h4x0rs have been posting a lot of those types of questions. I withdraw my statement and hang my head in shame of the thought of having my way...although I'm somewhat surprised you didn't answer the question. but hey, forget it and post before I start rambling...

I only answer these days if the question intrigues me or I have something new that I can smack people with and get them wound up trying to find the answer to, namely because I usually don't have a good follow-up query. Believe me, if I ever find another Tempest/CatScratch or another Life 3/Doom (especially something akin to that, that technique is still my all-time favorite bug), you'll probably see it here. smile.gif

fair 'nuff. but hey, it doesnt matter, all that matters is the question. anyhoo, I was kinda expecting one of 'you' to answer that question, as you lot know about that stuff...
my off topic sensors are tingling for some reason so i'll shut up now.

I think these are all of 'em:

Physical attack blocking shield appears, magic blocking shield appears, little cape thingy appears, two crossed swords appear, when you are invisible (if you can count that one), aaaaaaand I think that might be it. All in all that makes... 5. Then multiply that by 14 (not all the characters look exactly alike) to get 70. Then there's General Leo. He has... 4? 74. Then there's Kefka. He did a couple. 2 seems right for him.

That gives me a grand total of 76 different sprites. Am I close?

mathias is closest, but not there yet. I don't count jump as the missed sign doesnt come up, and is the zephyr cape the red cape that sometimes comes up? i dont know that much about it. I take it you mean the crossed swords when you say swords. when you say mshield I want specifics! there are lots of different ones for magic attacks! I will return shortly to see if you have answers

and one last thing I don't count the different ones for each characters.

Edit
oh yeah, I forgot to say that there are two more, but there are extra credit

Edit
*sighs* all right, as nobody tried I'll give the answer. where are you people?
anyway, with mshield there are as follows:
one for ice/fire/bolt 1/2/3 each
one grey one for aero (? correct me if I'm wrong techies, i don't know much about it)
a wierd grey one that seems to be for grey magic.
the extra credit ones are nothing at all besides the text box saying the spell cast, and the attack animation cast and it says missed

*goes and cries in the corner due to so few attempts after october 5th*
