Time's up. I gave away all the hints, so this *should* have been doable tongue.gif Like I said, something causes you and the guard to stop, and since you are in automatic mode it can't be anything you do. The only variable here is one of the returners who is walking around randomly near the conference table. If he happens to get in the guard's way during the automatic sequence then the guard (and thus you) will stop walking. Normally this is just temporary, and as soon as the returner randomly moves out of the way again you and the guard will continue walking. However, if you are very lucky the wandering returner will step in front of you right after the guard goes up the stairs but right before you go up the stairs. What will happen is that the returner takes one step up the stairs and then you automatically step right behind him. Since the returner is now surrounded by 2 walls and 2 people he can't move. You can't move because the returner blocks your path ahead and the guard up front won't move because he is waiting for you to move. Congratulations, it's gameover!

I had hoped for another poster to pick up the thread, but I guess it's up to me to revive this thing.

Here's a golden oldie (first one to get it wins): Edgar used the Debilitator on a monsters that does not have the Clear status. However, the attack misses! Why's this?

The debilitator selects an element randomly. If the monster is already weak versus that element that the debilitator chooses, then it displays 'miss'.

The Debilitator will never attempt to debilitate against an element that the target is already weak to, just like ForceField will never try to nullify the same element.

I guess that kind of gives it away.

The monster is already weak versus all elements.
I knew it was something like that. I encountered that once before. Pretty rare event.

That's the one. Right from the mind, I can think of Girl (third tier of final battle) and Siegfried (Colloseum). Ofcourse, you can debilitate everybody into a state of all-round weakness.

Edit
Edit: There is also a Hidonite which is weak against all elements. No more.

Name 5 ways you can replenish your MP without using an MP-replenishing Item like Ether, X-Ether, Elixir, etc.? I know of 7 ways. 3 of them are ridiculously easy, so you need to find 5 ways.

I did not intend to count Inns and Recovery Springs, but they satisfy the question. Good job DS.

Osmose (given that you have less than 2 MP, the monster has more than 2 MP and the monster does not have the Undead status)
Runic
Monster casts Osmose or Special like Warlock's MagicDrain on party member who has Undead status
Soul Sabre
Rage SoulDancer or Still Goin
Life 2
Empowerer

Enemy Special attacks don't invert damage on the undead, so that won't work. I didn't know for sure, but I just had a test on Mindreaper. Also, starting a fight at the Colloseum completely heals a character, so that could also be an answer.

Also: Tapir works wonders on a sleeping target, undead or not. Obviously this is Mog's Tapir, not the one who appears is Sleep runs out.

Also: Pep Up, anyone?

Okay then

In Terra's dream in the Mines of Narshe
When the Retuerner reports that S Figaro is taken in the Returner Hideout
When Kefka scorches Figaro
When the Blackjack is flying to the Imperial Isle
And are you counting the version you hear in the intro?

A good lot of traffic lately, but unfortunately too little to this precious one. Here's the question I'm fully allowed to ask:

Give me the earliest ways to learn every Lore. There is something difficult about this question, since some (most) Lores then can only be obtained in the WoB can be found in multiple places, meaning that it depends on where you take Strago first. For those, I'll say that the order Celes will first take will be regarded 'first'. I left the starter ones (Aqua Rake, Revenge, Stone) and the ones you can only learn from one enemy (GrandTrain, ForceField) out because they don't qualify for the question. Kefka's Tower is always last.

Here's the list. Enjoy

Aero
Big Guard
Blow Fish
CleanSweep
Condemned
Dischord
Exploder
L.5 Doom
L.4 Flare
L.3 Muddle
L? Pearl
Pearl Wind
Pep Up
Quasar
Reflect???
Rippler
Roulette
Sour Mouth
Step Mine

Could you explain this "areas coming before other areas" business, I'm still confused. And are any of my wrong answers wrong simply because one can't learn them that way or are they all wrong because they aren't the earliest ways one can learn them?

I'll explain with Rippler. You can learn Rippler from Gigan Toad, Reach Frog, Blue Drgn and Dark Force. Both Gigan Toad and Reach Frog can be reached at the same time after you get Strago, it's a matter of where you are going first. Therefore, I took Celes' timeline up to the airship as an 'order', which in this case would help Gigan Toad win because she encounters them very early while only the Falcon will let you meet Reach Frog monsters.

And with 'wrong' I mean that you can learn them earlier.

It is Reach Frog. Gigan Toad can't cast Rippler due to lack of MP, Strago won't learn it that way.

Quasar would still be last, because you can get Dark Force to cast it in Kefka's Tower. However, the "random" chance of getting it is very dependent on DF's last cast being Exploder, so several tricks would need to be used. The other enemy that uses it is Goddess, and that's even later.

Big Guard, of course, can be gotten from a Muddled, Sketched, or Controlled Earthguard on the Solitary Island.
