I was playing 'Tales of Phantasia' over the weekend and a character in the town of Midgard said something that made me think of FFIV. I have attached a screen shot of the scene. Heeeee.... I'm glad someone in Square still remember FFIV.
Note: 'Tales of Phantasia' was never officially released to the US game market. The maker was Square (soft). Has anyone else ever found a FFIV in another game? If it never was released here, doesn't that make it a fansub? If so, then any similarities in ToP are just as likely as a result of the fans as they are Square. Neat, still, but not so neat as if Square had done it themselves.

Quote (Cloud_Strife510 @ 10th December 2003 09:35) doesn't square just love to make connections between games </understatement> R51's right. It's probably like J2E putting that Backstreet Boys song in FFIV HT -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

J2E was a group of translators that edited Japanese ROMs to have English text. They worked on games that were never released here, like FF4 Hard and a couple of the Dragon Quest games. They're no longer in existance, though I think some of the members might have gone elsewhere.

Actually, it was published by Namco. If you sit through the intro, there's a screen of Cless and either Mint or Arche fighting a monster, and "NAMCO" is written in big letters over the picture.
