If you have ever leveled up to Lv. 99, you must have encounter some human adversaries of the same level (especially in the Deep Dungeon, since the ennemies here tend to be 10 levels ahead of you). If so, you should have observe that they always come equiped with the best equipment available in shops, generally Thief Hat, Black Costume, Light Robe, and the strongest weapons available.
Maybe you would have noticed that the exception to this rule is the Archer class : the high level archer comes equiped with the Ultimus Bow, wich make a lot of people think it was originally meant to be purchasable (it does have a high sell price, when all the other non purchasable weapons are sold to a price of 5 Gils).
Then comes the real reason of this post : I recently encountered an Archer in the Deep Dungeon, and he was equiped with the Perseus Bow, wich is the best bow there is. It made me wondered several things : did it happened to any one of you? Does it mean that some opponents can come equiped with the best weapon of their class, or is it just this battle, or this specific class?
If anyone can answer this, I'm really curious of knowing if you can steal more precious and one of a kind equipment, rather than resort to the use of item duping.

What you are saying is true. I have also leveled up all my characters and I sometimes find extremely strong weapons, not in which you can buy. I always had this happen to me in the deep dungeon. I think that is the best place to find your equipment. The only stuff you can steal from the enemies outside of the deep dungeon are all those things you can buy in an item shop.

Whev levelled up to level 99 in deep dungeon i have encountered several archers with Yoichi Bows, and only i few with Perseus Bows. Stranger than that though i encountered a priest with a mace of Zeus, and a Ninja with a Defender and the defender isnt even one of their class weapons!!!! that was the strangest thing i have ever seen regarding equipment.

Yeah, Archers can come equipped with Yoichi or even Perseus Bows. But you will NEVER, EVER see a generic Knight equipped with a Knight Sword. Another hypothesis of mine is that the Defender sword mght have been buyable, as well. It costs the same as a Rune Blade, thugh, so you can't be too sure.

There's also a pretty profitable Chemist battle on the first map after acquiring Orlandu (where you fight the Ninja leader), wherein you can steal a random collection of magical guns. The only bad part about this is that, since you're fighting Chemists, they sometimes have Mainteance, which will prevent theft. I'm not sure if their levels factor into their equipment, but I thought it was worth mentioning, since these guns can't1(to my knowledge tongue?gif) be purchased.

The only way to activate this battle is to approach the map from the South(?)East (r}ght side).

None of the guns that shoot magic can be bought. aI believe that some of them, however, can be poched. If you want to know which ones I suggest you look it up on GameFaqs. They have the biggest game data base that I have ever seen.

I think you're wrong, Edge, as I just went through the entire FFT section here (which, by my own admission, is one of the best on the internet), and found no guns that could be poached. They can be only stolen, won, or found.

Edit
Of course, since Thou has proven that I can't read, we'll go with what he said.

Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? Or perhaps buying a really good looking shirt?

It is true that no magical gun can be poached, but there is the possibility of poaching a Stone Gun from the Dark Behemoth (this information being, of course, confirmed by CoN's database happy.gif)

Dangit, I hate getting false info thumbdown.gif . I must have read from a false source that said magical weapons can be pouched. I know that you can still some from a Zodiac Knight and enemies in the Deep Dungeon. I guess I better double check what I read for now on, eh.
