For me, it has to be Ultima Weapon from VIII. While he lacked the challenge of Omega, he looked badass and the build-up to fighting him along with the air of the battle provided by the music perfected the atmosphere. He wielded a huge version of Cloud's Ultima Weapon which was a great addition and his general look impressed me very much.

Maybe Zeal's second form in Chrono Trigger. Just an awesome arrangement.
I'm trying to think of other cool "grand bosses", but I can't recall any others at the moment. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. You can find me on the Fediverse! I use Mastodon, where I am @[email protected] ( https://sakurajima.moe/@glennmagusharvey ) |

All SE games or just FFs?
Assuming the latter: Final Bosses: Kefka, Zeromus, and Ultimecia Storyline Bosses: Gilgamesh, the Turks, Fuujin and Raijin, and Kuja. Ultima Weapon in FFVI, too. Optional Bosses: Death Machine, Omega, Shinryuu, Emerald WEAPON, and Possible spoilers: highlight to view Gilgamesh in FFXII. Other games: I second Zeal in Chrono Trigger. Also Lavos, too, and of course Magus. All of the Ten Wise Men in Star Ocean 2, especially Gabriel. All the tri-Ace optional bosses. Lucifer in Star Ocean 3. Zoma in Dragon Quest III, and the final boss in Dragon Quest VI was cool as well. Eh, all I can think of for now. This post has been edited by Zeromus_X on 10th July 2006 16:24 -------------------- |

The coolest boss I'd have to say every time you fight Seifer from FFVIII especially at Deling City. That is definitly the coolest fight.

All SE games. I'll add the fight with the 4 elements in Xenogears in Anime Relic Dungeion 1 where they combine.

A few Squeenix bosses come to mind for me--the last of the Ten Wise Men in Star Ocean 2 (do forgive me for forgetting his name), Magus, and Atma Weapon.

Kuja is my favorite by far. As far as the downright coolest boss, Seifer takes the cake.
Arrogant, cocky, conceited, refuses to go back on his decisions whether they're right or wrong, and despite his hatred and rivalry for Squall, acknowledges him as a greater warrior with admiration and respect. A good guy in the role of a bad guy. Gotta' love his Hyperion and Fire Cross limit break. -------------------- "Thought I was dead, eh? Not until I fulfill my dream!" Seifer Almasy "The most important part of the story is the ending." Secret Window "Peace is but a shadow of death." Kuja |
