I've completed all sidequests and mandatory stuff, and there's nowhere to go now except Kefka's Tower. Problem is, I won't go until I've topped every character Lv. 99, All Magic, and Special Ability Status. I've got the Cursed Shield equipped waiting for it to transfer to the Paladin Shield. Nothing left to do but strengthen my characters, but there's still certain items I'm waiting for, such as the Economizer.. Two options I have for getting an Economizer is do the (a.) unwise decision of giving up the Gem Box for an Economizer at the Colosseum or (b.) defeating the Brachosaurs in Dinosaur forest. But of all the many Brachosaurs I've defeated I've yet to recieve 1 Economizer upon defeating them, which under the CoN Brachosaur classification says I should recieve upon defeating.. Anyone got any ideas why I'm not recieving it?

Just because a monster has an item, doesn't mean it's going to drop it every single time. Unless there is some strange version discrepancy that I can't recall, I can confirm from firsthand experience that you WILL sometimes get an Economizer from Brachosaurs.

If I remember, there was another member who, for some reason, never received an Economizer dropped from the Brachosaur no matter how many he faced. I think it was Narratorway who had this problem. How many times have you faced the Brachosaur? Usually it took me a good 10 battles with the Brachosaurs, more or less, before I got one to drop.

there is a third way to get economizers, steal them from the Aquila enemies inside of the Pheonix cave. (To raise your sucess rate of finding, and being able to steal it from one, put locke in one team and gogo in the next)

That wouldn't raise the chances one bit.

Aquila is just as rare as Brachosaur, and the chances for stealing an Economizer are just the same as winning one from Brachosaur (1 in 8), unless of course your levels are low, then the chances are that much worse since you could potentially not steal anything. Also, switching between groups has no effect on random encounters that I'm aware of, so that's a waste of ability by splitting Gogo and Locke, but it's not like you need both of them anyway since Aquila unfortunately has a Fenix Down as a common steal.

The best way to get Economizers is to bet the Strato at the Collosseum. Then you can guarantee a meeting with the Aquila and win or lose, should your character manage to steal the Economizer, it's yours.

As for your Strato, that will earn you a Pearl Lance if you win, which can then be bet for your Strato back. You can steal Auras from Retainers which you can then bet for Stratos should you lose, and White Drgn appears on the Veldt (Pearl Lance is a rare Steal), so it's not like you can't ever get your Strato back again.

Zed, you truly are a MASTER! thumbup.gif

I like that idea because I'm within the 45-50 level range right now, and even those Brachosaurs can be a -hctiB when they do Ultima, Swing, and all sorts of other crazy stuff.

And yes, now that I've got Scimitar and Sky Render the Strato is useless so I'll definitely try that. Thanks Zed!

For Economizers, Aquilas. That Collosseum method makes it almost too easy to snag a few. Beats wandering around for hours just trying to find the right creature.

Of course, if you're training in the Tyranosaur forest to get to LV. 99, then Brachosaurs would be a good source, that is, if you don't require one immediately. smile.gif

What are the chances of encountering a Brachosaur? I've run into a ton of Tyranosaurs in that forest, but never a Brachosaur. However, I've run into at least one Aquila before, since I know I got its rage.

well Zed, I think this'd work, but you tell me if my logic's flawed, if you gave Gogo Offering and the Merit Badge or whatever it's called, and gave him Atma Weapon, then for abilities, you gave him Mimic Fight Steal Steal, would that improve the chances of stealing from the Aquila? (not the success rate, but the chance of using the action Steal)

Edit
the wohle offering atma weapon is just so you do'n tlose the battle, it has nothing to do with stealing, fyi

Give Gogo Mimic Steal Steal Steal and Equip him with Merit Badge and the Blackbelt. He will steal every time his turn comes up and counterattack the enemy so that the battle will end eventually. Personally I don't use an Economizer though because I'd rather use a Relic that is actually helpful. Such as Marvel Shoes and the Gem Box. Anyone can blast off an Osmose before using the 2nd spell on a Gem Box. No need for an Economizer at all IMO.

Fighter - Give him three steals, and yes, in my experience, it would improve your chances of using Steal. The reason I say just equip Steal three times is because the Collosseum automatically gives characters a Fight command anyway, so there's no need to worry about it. Gogo will Fight eventually.
