Theres a possibility that your chars simply aren't strong enough. And if so, I hope you have backup saves or else your probably screwed. If so, at least theres one lesson. Use backup saves

To defeat Wiegraf, I always used the same technic : Ramza as a Monk, with the Two Swords support ability, and any useful reaction ability I have at the moment (Auto Potion, Sunken State, anything you like). If you're lucky, you'll take him down in the first round (you can reload until it happens if you want to...).
I never had a problem to beat Velius and his minions : just pound him with everything you got (Calculators/Priest would go wonder, Knight/Two Swords, Summoner...), and concentrate only on him. He won't last long. Good luck. ![]() |

Weigraf is a tough battle, but there is a way to prepare in order to make the battle ridiculously easy.
First, make Ramza a Ninja with Equip Armor, and give him the best two Ninja Swords you can afford. Â (Some people prefer to make him a Two Swords Knight or Monk, but then you lose the valuable move bonus, which is important.) Â Give him Auto Potion as a reaction ability, and get rid of all your regular Potions, as it will be much more effective with Hi-Potions. Â His secondary ability should be Guts, and you should probably give him a move bonus (+1, +3) just in case. When dueling Weigraf, run away from him at every opportunity, so you can stay out of range of his sword techniques. Â This should be easy, because of all your move bonuses. Â On every turn, your Action should be Yell. Â Keep Yelling until your speed is ridiculously high, and you're going four or five times in a row before Weigraf gets a turn. Â After this is accomplished, just go up behind Weigraf, and hit him with your double attack using each of your turns. Â With that much damage stacking up against him, he should die quickly. Velius will then show up, but ignore his friends. Â Ramza still retains his high speed, so he'll be going quite often. Â Just keep focusing on Velius with everything you've got, and he should go down in short order. Â (I usually beat him before he has a chance to summon anything.) -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. If you want to be really, really cheep (like I usually am during this fight) put auto-potion on Ramza, then stock up on x-potions and throw away all your potions and high potions. Then proceed to SM's yelling strategy. Even if he does get hits in, you get 150 HP back every time, so it's not very devastating.

Build, build, build, build, build, build, build.
Getting my characters 20+ levels above the Story enemies have never failed me. Â Trust me, if you can kill people with one hit, it's a good thing. Â If you don't have that kind of patience, just give Ramza Guts and Yell until he is going like 5 times in a row for every one turn Weigraf gets. Â Then hit him once which should kill him. Â When your and his helpers come in, just focus on Weigraf and don't screw with the other demon dudes. Edit: Put Auto-Potion on and get rid of all your normal potions and only use High Potions. Then he gets like a bunch of HP if he ever gets hit. -------------------- I find your lack of faith disturbing... |

But getting 20 levels higher than the enemy will pose no challenge whatsoever. I'm always at the same level as the story battle enemies. That way, I won't have an advantage and neither will they.

i dont even think about that battle untill im lvl 35. i have ramza as a lancer with the item ability and the equip sword. make sure he knows x-potion so he can heal himself. always jump and every tikme you take damage that brings you to criticle, move as far away as possible and heal your self for TWO rounds. move in and jump. use lancers, samuries, and knights as aother alies.

Well i would recommend making 3 lancers, Ramza as one of them. Then have agrais as a holy kight and Mustadio. Ramza if fully epuipped should do 143 points of damgae at level 30 each time he jumps on Wiegraf after 2 attacks wiegraf is done. then have your lancers for the Velius battle so when he gets clops going on they can jumpo have mustadio and agrais take care of the Archiac Demons mutadio can attack them or Arm Aim them. Or you can get a theif and charm the archiac demons it funny when they cast giga flare and dark holy on themselves they are the only monster i have ever seen attack themselves when charmed.

Well, if you don't want to beat him the cheap way, you can beat him without levelling up ridiculously. Put Weapon Break on Ramza and break Wiegraf's sword, then he'll be helpless. Heal yourself up and then put him away. If you are the same level as Velius, you might have some trouble there, but just throw everything you have at him and you should beat him... Without having to resort to cheap Yell techniques. It's actually quite a challenge then.

Ramza as a Knight w/two swords and move + has always worked for me, I didn't even need auto potion to beat him.
NOTE: 1 of the swords was a blood sword stolen from Gafgarion at the execution site, regained around 100 hp per attack. (If you REALLY wanna be cheap, equip him with 2, his attack goes down, but he's nigh on immortal...) |
