Just a few quick tidbits from the wonderful world of gaming.
The first is that a sequel to Paper Mario has finally been confirmed. The game is being developed by Intelligent Systems, the Nintendo in-house team that developed the original title. The sequel will retain the unique art style of the original: "paper thin" sprites in a fully 3D world. There is no set release date as of yet for the title. One might recognize the Intelligent Systems label as it has been the force behind such titles as Donkey Kong, Excitebike, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Tetris Attack, Super Metroid and the Fire Emblem series. Source: Gameforms The second scrumptious tidbit of the day involves money and not an actual game. More concretely, it is that Microsoft has lowered the price of the Xbox to $149.99. The drop places it in the middle for lowest price of the three major consoles. This might make the console more appealing to gamers recently leaning towards purchasing a Gamecube instead because of its much lower price point of $99.99 Source: Games_Are_Fun -------------------- "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." - Aristotle |

Interesting that Sony hasn't lowered their price on the PS2, maybe it will become 149.99. Even though I have a Ps2, it doesn't matter, maybe Nintendo will lower the price to $79.99 and Include 2 contorollers. As 4 Paper Mario, shouldn't Squenix develop it, now that they are werking again.

Actually Nintendo did release a television advertisement that I saw myself a couple of times and it was saying that the price of the Game Cube had been dropped to $79.99...after that I went to Game Stop and they were still $100...I bought one anyway but the price hasn't changed according to the advertisement, but the ad was released about a month before Christmas and I haven't seen that ad since.Game Cubes are still $100.

Individual stores can charge whatever they want. The price on TV is probably the price that they recommended to the stores or something. |

If Sony wanted to stay competitive they would have to lower their price. I don't know if they will right away though. They might wait and see if Mircosoft's price drop affects PS2s sales. IIRC they are beating mircosoft and nintendo by a alot right now...
