i know this has nothing to do with well, anything lol, but since im only like 5 miles away from the chatsworth fire, i tought i should report on it.

well, it started like 5 days ago in san diego, then more fires were sparked independentally north of LA, and now 5 days later it has spread through all of Souther California, it has now burned over 500,000 thousand acres and destroyed over 1000 homes, ill keep updating as more is reported.

feel free to close this for total inrevelance tot he site, or to post your toughts on this.

I have friends in San Diego and family in L.A. I'd be worried, but man, there's a wildfire every year out there. You get desensitized.

This wildfire is even reported in France, due to its severity and lasting time. It is rather impressive, especially due to all the houses burning...
We do have wildfire every year in the south of France, but nothing like this.
I didn't catch on the news if they knew wether the fires were criminal...can anyone tell me if they were?

You mean there are wildfires in places other than FL!?
Kidding.

But seriously, I know how it is. Here, we get a severe drought and fires every other summer.

This may really sound unbeliveable, but we've had forest fires in scotland in the past 5 years. Mostly as a result of arson or accendental fire, but theres the sheer fact that a fire going out of control in scotland couldnt happen in 1990 in the forests, because it always rained every week or so.

they say the San Diego fire was an accident, it got out of control, it started as a signal fire because a hunter got lost and waslooking for help, but the other fires are arson or at least thats what the authorities are saying.

man that fire is getting awfully close to sylmar now, wouldnt be surprised if i saw ppl evacuating from here as well.

Yeah, I heard about those wildfires on the news once. Sounds pretty bad. And the shots they had of it looked intense.

I do know some people in L.A. Hopefully these fires won't affect them though.

I have relatives that live up in the hills/mountains outside of San Diego, and there are forests everywhere there. I have not been able to get in contact with them unfortunately (uncle, and two cousins) so I hope they're alright (hopefully the house isn't burned, my uncle built it himself).

The clouds ran away, opened up the sky
And one by one I watched every constellation die
And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard
Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star
I should've known, walked all the way home
To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone

My friend's house already burnt down, and a lot of my friends from high school live in SoCal. It's insane. I hate fires.
