Your right about the dancer, no attack power or defense. Her dance skills could be a lot better considering the conditions you needed to get the class in the first place. The calculator is good mainly if you have strong magic . This being he could hit multiple enemies with holy for example.

Dancers are like Bards in reverse. Bard abilities help your allies in various ways, and Dancer abilities do the same amount of harm against enemies.

Calculators work welll because they allow free and instant magi use to an unlimited amount of characters, both friendly and enemy.

It's more practical to learn Math skill and make them another class, though.

You work them by looking over the enemy's level, CT, and such, and picking out the biggest group you can holy to hell without going suicidal.

No, that'd be the Mime class, from what I can tell. Calculators can instantly cast free magic of various types, like SharkESP said. You can check out the Calculator's different skills at its section in the jobs area of the FFT section.

A calculator's turn has you choose one of the four number sets (3, 4, 5, prime), one of the four calculatable sets (height, CT, exp, level), and a spell that the calculator can cast. The important thing to remember is that only certain spells are usable with the Calculator, but a lot of good ones can be, like Holy. You have to learn the abilities with the other jobs before the calculator can activate them, though.

So for example, if you chose Holy, 3, and CT, it would cast Holy on everyone in the battle (even your own people) that have a CT that is divisible by 3.

oh my god.... you just blew my mind. I could never figure out how to do anything... It would always cast spells on my own people and I guess now I know why. :-P Thanks alot.

You can do Neal's example and equip something that absorbs Holy (Chameleon Robe?) and hope for the best, if you just don't want to try and figure it out.

Like SharkESP said, it would be better to learn the math skill and then change to a different class. I always changed mine back to a Wizard, since they can have an insanely high magic attack.

Calculator is by far the worse class, it is slow and useless. However the math skill is a God sent. The only character I had from the beginning of the game (rest of group was Ramza, Agraias, Orlando, and Beowulf) in the last battle was a Black Mage with math skill equipped. I was able to blast that SOB with Flare like crazy.

As for dancers (and bards), I never even used them cause they are pathetic. The only game I ever used a bard was in FFV when you have to climb that mountain with all the dead dragons.

The Dancer and also the bard are awesome when you get the fly ability and there moves or abilities come in real handy when you have one or two mimes but the calculator isnt too great i had one for a little while and then i just changed it

The calculators skill is the best one in the game. If you make someone have the calculator skill you can cast big spells, such as holy, on all the enemys. Calculators skills can sometimes be the thing that helps you win the game.
