So have you guys ever had a TV show that you loved, but here's the catch. No one else you knew liked, understood, or let you watch it when they were around.
![]() I know this is a strange topic, but I have some shows that everyone says I'm strange because I enjoy watching them. -------------------- At times one remains faithful to a cause only because its opponents do not cease to be insipid. Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 - 1900) |

First Wave (No one had any idea what it was)
Quantum Leap (Long after it was cancelled. I loved that show. The ending was so sad ![]() There is one friend that has been giving me a little trouble about Stargate SG-1, but only because her dad watches it. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

I always watch all of my animes alone (except for Spirited Away, which my mom loves). And back before I came out to anyone, I would tape shows that had anything to do with gay people, and watch them when there were no other people in the house.

That doesn't sound like weird shows, T/A, it just sounds like you treat TV as a crack addiction

On my favourite show that no one else liked, there's not much : I seem to always find someone who loves what I watch.
But there are some shows that few of my friends liked : "Profit" (one of the best piece of television I ever saw), "Harsh Realm", "Roswell" (first season only, the rest is somewhat crappy), and "Brimstone". I know realise that most of the shows I listed got canceled, so this probably explains that... |

I'm a closet wrestling freak. Not as much nowadays, but still a lot. I also love anime, I know many of you do too, but most of my friends still think of them as toons from their childhood.
Oh yeah, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. That show is f'ing hilarious, I'm laughing through almost the entire episode. -------------------- "My impersonation of an ordinary person was flawless." - Neal "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." - Dr. Seuss |

im always a huge fan of those weirdass shows that show up on comedy central and are off the air after two seasons or so. in particular, i LOVED the upright citizens brigade, strangers with candy, and im really getting into reno 911. with the exception of my friend brian who has basically the same brain as i do, nobody else thought these shows were funny and thought we were kinda messed up for watching them. mystery science theater 3000 was also great, but a lot of people enjoy that, and those who dont probably havent seen it yet and theyre sorely missing out.

Quote (Dark Paladin @ 8th October 2003 09:43) Anyone else remember when Weird Al had a Saturday morning TV show? Harvey, Harvey, Harvey the wonder Hamster! BTW, I watched Quantum Leap from the beginging to the end. I remember when I was in 6th grade when it went off of NBC. Show that no one seems to watch or thinks I'm weird for watching them: Adventures of Pete & Pete (mom HATES that show), The Incredible Hulk, The Monkees, anything Star Trek, Daria, Sliders (the ones with Quinn), Knight Rider (back in the 80s), and Wolf Lake. -------------------- kame, tortue, tortuga, schildkröte, tartaruga, turtle "Arthur Dent?" Survivor. What an addictive show. It's so entertaining, and when I tell people I love it, I get laughed at. Too bad it's still insanely popular.

I don't understand how you would get laughed at, since it was so popular. Most of the people who are laughing now probably watched it. CURSE YOU GREG DYKE!!!! ![]() You're certainly not weird. If you have a satellite/cable package that includes Cartoon Network's Boomerang channel, you can catch Dangermouse at 8pm on weekdays. I don't know why you blame Greg Dyke though. It was never on the BBC to begin with. Things I get laughed at for: my rubbish soaps (which is fair, because I only watch for the Cute Girls), Sliders (I only really like S1-2 anyway, except how Wade gets real Cute in some of the third season) and, of course, Buffy and Angel, though I have online friends who approve. Almost certainly more, but I'm in a think-not right now. This post has been edited by Tiddles on 10th October 2003 21:56 |
