Ok... Chapter 4, i get in a battle in Zeklaus Desert. The bttle looks like this;

Me:

Ramza: Level 82- Monk
Orlandu: Level 84-Lancer
Calculator: Level 81
Archer: Level 82
Oracle: Level 80

Enemy:

2 Sacreds
1 Explosive
1 Cocatoris
1 Oracle

This is what happened I killed of all the beasts and then the oracle casted foxbird on my Oracle who's brave was less than 30 because i had been item finding in Deep Dungeon then i killed him with my oracle chickened (brave still below 10). After i wa awarded the gil i had gained from battle the screen flashed and said Warning: then a dialogue box popped up with a picture of my oracle and it said, "Hey sit me out next time." Next battle i didnt play him. what would have happened if i did and what was that all about?????

You will get a warning for every character that leaves a battle with brave under 15 or faith over 85. If your characters get too scared, they will run away and leave your party - this happens if the brave drops below 5 at the end of a battle. If your characters put too much faith in God, they will realize that they don't want to fight anymore, they want to go join the Church. This happens if their faith is over 95.

Ooooohhh ok so if i had brought him into battle he would have took off but i didn't so i dont need to worry about it... ok cool... pretty funky.

How bout in a battle and the last level of Deep Dungeon i ound the last item in a leter battle same thing only instead of one of my characters pooping up it said "Warning, Only We can save Ivalice from Chaos" whats that all about?

No, he would not have left, because Chicken is not a permanent status. He got all but one point of that Brave back after the battle, so if he had 45 before he got chickened, he would have had 44 in the next battle. The other warning you describe I haven't seen, which makes me think it might be as a result of high Faith. Did you use Pray Faith or something like that in the battle?

Note, FFT scholars, I know I oversimplified the algorithm that explains permanent loss or gain of Brave or Faith. It was only for the sake of the discussion.

just to confirm, yes, that sounds like a high faith message. since i kept all of my characters at 94 faith (characters leave at 95 and above, not above 95 -- and the same goes for brave [5 and below]), i got those messages quite often, and they all had something to do with the characters giving the party a mini-sermon or asking God for forgiveness or something).

Ok sounds about right. Yah, well thanx. I just starrted another file i am mastered squire and half mastered archer by the first Dorter battle hehehe... lol hard core levelling up.

Pray Faith is an Oracle spell, and doesn't actually increase Faith. It gives the 'Faith' status effect, giving an effective Faith of 100 but not actually changing the Faith stat.

The only Faith-raising abilities are the Mediator's Preach and the Bard reaction ability Face Up (should be Faith Up).

yeah, that happened to me before... i never quite knew what it ment. thanks for explaining it for me.

ok, question: does the leaving cause of low brave and high faith apply only to generic characters?

I ask cause I remember I used Beowolf's Chicken ability on Rafa when looking for items on... ok, I don't remember where, but you get the Robe of Lords there, anywho, she was down to 0 brave in the middle of the battle, and at the end of the battle had only 8 or so, and I received no such messege (she, as a chicken, just so happened to pick up what I was looking for)
