I was wondering, did anyone besides me ever try to get megalixers and elixers from the enemies at the very beginning of the WoR after you get Locke?  IIRC it was tough to get em, since the enemies would all die after one turn automatically.  Anyway, I was just kinda curious.

I didn't becuase I think elixers and Megaelixers are kind of pointless unless you were playing a low lvl game wich I have never tried maybe then they would be useful.  But besides that if you go through the game regulary yo u really don't need them and can't you buy elixers?

you have a good point of not needing them, I never really used them, except in dire circumstances.  Also, I don't recall any place where you could buy tham.

Megalixirs are quite useful if you take a low-level party to fight Kefka, though.  His Fallen Angel attack is just one of many annoying variants (Queen Zeal, anyone?) of special attacks which bring your characters' HP down to one automatically.  A quick Megalixir is an efficient way to bring your party out of the red zone, and back into the fight.

You probably don't need a whole lot of them, though, and I don't really remember ever going out of my way to find some. Â Usually the one I earn from killing the Mage Master at the top of the Fanatics' Tower is enough for me. EDIT: MegalixIr! MegalixIr! AHHH! I did with a 100+ Speed Locke, since that particular file was needed for monster testing.  Used Quick and Stop spells to stall unneeded deaths as long as possible, and while Elixirs only got to 56, I did max out my Megalixir supply.

Megalixirs and Elixirs could come in handy, but I never really use them since I'm too cheap and hold on to my items too much

Maxed out 99 Megalixirs and 99 Elixirs in FF6 for the sheer sake of maxing out my party. By the way, the enemies are EarthGuards (steal megalixir) and Peepers (steal Elixir).

You'll must've either forgot or not known Megalixirs get you Economizers in the Colosseum, which I've come to find VERY useful..

Example - Terra: Relics: Gem Box / Economizer & already learned Quick, and the rest of the Magic Arsenal.. Right there is a Magic Goddess. |

Wagering Megalixir nets you a Tintinabar if you can win the battle, which if wagered, nets you an Exp. Egg, and since that can be bet for the Tintinabar, it's an endless loop that never leads to the Economizer.

In fact, the only wager that can get the Economizer is Gem Box, which isn't worth it. Of course, you can always do it my way, and wager a Strato so you can steal an Economizer from Aquila instead. -------------------- |

Thanks for correcting my mistake, Zed..

Giving up the Gem Box for an Economizer is worthless, but now that I have that newly acquired info, it'll be used greatly. |
