Which town do you like to romp around in the most when you play FF6? how come?

narshe is definitely my favorite. i just like the wintery cozy kind of feel, and once youre able to go back in the world of balance, theres lots of stuff to collect. and the moogle cave is cool, and you get umaro there too. it sucks in the WoR though.

i would have to place Mobliz as my second choice. I just like it because its a little tiny town out in the middle of nowhere.

i like the music in doma, but thats about it.

and finally, i like Nikeah, because it never really changes when the world gets all messed up.

I voted for Miranda because it was a good city in both the Worlds of Balance and Ruin.  In the World of Balance, it was the first place that you could buy a Green Beret (IIRC), which was a great help in the Magitek Factory.  It also had the random imperial soldier being chased by the townswoman, which was great.  In the World of Ruin, it held awesome weapons and armor and was also the focal point of your retrieval of Cyan, who to me had one of the coolest stories in the World of Ruin.  So throughout the game, Miranda was my favorite city just because of the atmosphere and the availability of weapons and armor.

Man, there are so many to choose from....   I guess I've always liked Jidoor - very upscale and classy, the opera house is cool, and I really like Owzer's House as well - one of the better dungeons in the game, IMO.

2nd place would probably be South Figaro, just because I always thought Locke's scenario was one of the best parts of the game, and the town is really well designed.

I voted South Figaro, even though I liked all of the towns and castles.  South Figaro was probably the first major town you get to visit, and it just has a pleasant feel to it.  I liked the way it was one of the few places which seemed resilient towards the end of the world; even the music didn't change.  Besides, it was the site of Shadow's first appearance.  "Be careful...the dog eats strangers..."

I also liked Figaro Castle, since it could travel underground.  Doma gets points for the music, though I think it's also Cyan's character theme.  Thamasa was interesting because of the whole backstory with the Mage Knights.  All in all, I liked every one of them, in their own way.

Zozo... i like the music... especially the bass-ish underlying melody. What I love most about it though is it's .. um... "not normal-ness": everyone is lying, it's always raining, you battle in the middle of the city. I'd like to live there ^_^

honorable mention: Nikeah -the port town. It's just cool

My favorite "town" was Cid's house, it just felt cozy in there. Sometimes when I got a bit bored with the game (never!) I'd fly there and leave the game on while I made lunch or something.

I also rather liked Narshe, its not my favorite, but it was probably the best town ever at the time. Well done.

Damnit, why do me and neal always like the same stuff..lol.
I always liked miranda cause of the music, i think other towns
had that music too, but miranda just seems outsiderish..
maybe its the way the town is set up and the colors that are
in it cause some towns have slightly different colors
(or maybe its just me) plus the music (forgot what it was called) = my fav town.

I picked South Figaro because of Locke's stealth sequence, when it is occupied by the Empire. Also South Figaro is a town filled with fighting spirit.

I liked Jidoor. It was amazing, kind of modeled after ancient Greece or Rome, the citizens anyway. Never had a care in the world, even in it's ruined state. They appreciated the fine arts and had more money than they knew what to do with. That takes class, and Jidoor had that, as well as a variable selection of weapons and armor, not to mention the interactivity with the story line (owzers, auction house, and even Gau's little secret)  .

Good thing somebody said that, i always thought zozo was pretty cool too. it looks like a city from out of the movie "blade runner". not that im suggesting you see that movie. it was worse than awful. it was subawful.

I voted Narshe (Duh! I'm not "Silver" simply by chance!). I like winter, and cold (to a limit, of koz 8) )
My second vote would be Zozo. Why? 1st: everybody's lying (The beat down guy saying "Great people here!") 2nd: It's so much like "Blade Runner!"  :blah: I love that movie! 3rd: You could think Barem and Clyde were born here!  :E

Oh izzat so?  ...nah, I'll smack you around in a movie topic later.

Ahem, as for fave towns, I found out early on that I prefered South Figaro.  It was the town that felt the most...well town-ish.  It ha a whole lot of buildings that weren't a part of the shops and that gave ya the impression that more than just shopkeepers inhabited the town.

Second to that would be Narshe, for the same kinda reason, it was really expansive.

I picked Kohlingen because of a few reasons. First off, in the WOB you get a clear picture of my boy Locke's past not to mention that crazy old guy that keeps Rachel alive. Second in the WOR you find Setzer there and without him it is impossible to defeat Kefka. So Kohlingen gets my vote.

South Figaro, definitely. All the nice little buildings and little shops, people going through their daily routine, cafe with actual people in there, that sorta' stuff. Kinda' makes you wanna forget that you'll have to eventually face a maniac with god-like powers.

Though Mobliz in the WoB was a nice peaceful place, as well.

I'm not sure how anyone can say that Narshe isn't the tightest city in either world.  Seriously, it's built into the side of a mountain.

I was gonna start a new thread about this but it already exists so...

WoB South Figaro is my favorite town. It's the first regular town you go to in the game with accessable shops and the like and I just love the layout. It's got a wall that goes around it along with an ocean. Imagine how beautiful that would be in real life. It's the place to party. There's a nearby forest and a nice field, plus Figaro Castle and Narshe are right through the cave. There are even mountains nearby. The place has everything along with the coolest cafe in the game. Out of all the towns in FFVI I'd live in South Figaro if given the choice. thumbup.gif

I agree wholeheartedly, my friend. Jidoor was always my favorite town in the game... I just loved Owzer's house both for its music and its function later as a dungeon. The auction house was always big fun, as well.

Narshe! It just HAS to be Narshe, for many many reasons.

1) Narshe has that training academy thing you can go and get free MP and HP from the cleansing spring. FREE! I usually flew here after a bit of training to heal me right up, with no waste of Tincture or Potion. Of course it's handy to defeat Doom Gaze before you do that, you don't want to be ambushed unprepared.

2) That same academy has a Narshe ghost in it, in the WOR. Ghosts are the second best non-human creature around, moogle being the first and imp the third.

3) It's the only snowy place, which makes it all festive and cool. I love snowww.

4) Following on from point 3, the snowfields behind are the only place you can recieve Snowman Jazz.

5) This is the place that sets the scene for the best game EVER on any console.

6) Mog is the single most best character ever in any game ever, and this is where Moogle Village and Mog are found, plus the useful Moogle Charm which I'd be useless without.

7) You get Locke here. Locke is my second favourite character.

8) Arvis' House is here. Even though he's probably dead or missing in the WOR and all the other civillians are destroyed, his house still brings back memories of the start of the game... smile.gif

9) Also, it has the most purpose. It's a mine city, while most of the other cities are just to house snobs and art galleries, (what the hell IS Owzer. Is he human? He doesn't look it. Are those axes attached to his hands?), Narshe is actually used to get minerals from the ground. Very well thought out.
