I played Resident Evil 2 through a couple of times, and watched my brother try out Resident Evil 1. Not much more besides that, but Resident Evil 2 played out like a Hollywood action flic. Great game, in spite of B-Movie-ish voice acting.

I actually never played any Resident Evil games, because I'm afraid I'll get disapointed. Here's why : I have a frien that owns them all, and when I asked him which one I should choose to be really scared, he told me to play the first. Since he played them all, I was about to, and then he told me that if I REALLY wanted to be scared, I should play "Silent Hill", because it scared him so much he was never able to play more than 5 minutes.
He was right : this game is the scariest I ever seen, but i would still like to have your opinion. Wich RE should I play to be scared as much as I was when playing SH? |

Gun Survivour, not at any of its scary content, but at how bad it is.... seriously, the resi games dont have anything to scare you in them.. on playstation at least. i cant speak for the GC remakes... -------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of their quotes being misattributed to Plato." -George Santayana "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..." -Abraham Lincoln, prior to the discovery of Irony. |

Yeah, I'd have to say if you're new to the series, RE3 would prolly be the best bet.
Personally I own RE2 and that's enough for me. It's a great game, the best in the series for my word. It's really fun to play and the design is real solid, but it's not all that scary IMO and really campy. Kinda like how I feel about FFVII. -------------------- |

I would say RE CV is the best RE of all time. It may not be the scariest but I thought it was pretty damn scary. But... me and 5 of my other friends agree that it is the best.

I really like the Resident Evil games, but I think Capcom is starting to "wash out" as much money as they can, just like they're doing with the numerous Mega Man games.
When I first played RE1 I was amazed. That game was totally awesome. It's still the best RE game. It's the hardest one of them all, I think. Playing with Chris is a nightmare. No bazooka, no lockpick, only 6 items to carry and the fact you have to look after that jerky girl Rebecca all the time is no small challenge. RE1 is also the most "survivor" game of them all. While you can get tons of ink ribbons, ammo and herbs in the other games. RE1 really doesn't give you that much, and you always keep thinking: "Will my ammo last until this nightmare is over?" and "Should I really save now? I might need to later!" etc. Absolutely amazing. RE2 is good, but the big city isn't as cool as an old mansion in the forest. There's also far too much ammo and health items stacked out everywhere. When I finished the game, I had about 10 first aid-spray left, and tons of ammo. It shouldn't be like that. Code Veronica is also great. Better than RE2, but worse than RE1. The most "surprise-scary" of them all. RE3 and RE0, I haven't played yet. -------------------- People say I'm a slow learner, but I type fast! |

I used to play Resident evil: director's cut for a while, but I quit playing it after a short while.
here's why I quit playing the game: I'm not really into bloody stuff that much. I had a hard time with the controls, and monsters don't come back after re entering the room. |

Quote (Mewmon @ 6th September 2003 06:21) monsters don't come back after re entering the room. Thank the almighty one for that! If the monsters were to appear again each time you entered a room, your ammo would disappear like dust in the wind! Not to mention your nerves! I swear, if I ever had to go up against the same Hunter twice, I would get a heart attack! Plus, it's more logic if they don't appear again. It's a strange common thing in games, that you leave a room for a second, then suddenly when you come back, the room is once again filled with monsters. How did they enter? Did they hide in the wardrobe? -------------------- People say I'm a slow learner, but I type fast! |
