The first time through, no. The 2nd time through (whenever i get around to it) yeah, so i can find all the secret stuff and do any hard side quests etc.

I did not use a walkthrough the first time I went through FFVI. I did, however, the second time so I could get all the treasure chests and things.

In general, I do use walkthroughs on other games. I generally use them for finding out battle strategies or some puzzles. For those of you who have played FFX, I use walkthroughs at the Cloister of Trials because I find them very annoying and do not have the patience to figure them out myself. I just want to get through it and advance the story. Pretty much, I do anything I can to advance the story because the story is what I care about the most. Anything that hinders the movement of the story is annoying to me.

I checked "No" as my official answer. I usually try to finish the game all the way though, figuring things out for myself (unless I'm hopelessly stuck as in 1993 with FF:MQ and the frozen falls thing). When I've completed the game, I usually will look at a walkthrough or something of that nature to pick up some stuff I may have missed. For my favorite game FFIV I played it and figured out everything long before I had the internet and access to walkthroughs and stuff. So, almost all of my knowledge of that is almost 100% Kame.

I love using guids after beating a game once and getting all the extra stuff like the Air Anchor in FF6 because if anybody got that without a guide they should seriously get a life.   JK!

I used to when I was young but I never do anymore cause I don't see the point. Kinda takes all the fun and surprise out of games when you use walkthroughs

Nah, most of the time I don't. FF3 really doesn't need a walkthrough, if you ask me. I used some guides on my latest run (MasterZED's HP/MP level guide, a rage list, etc), but only because I want a more complete game.

Only in a very rare, very desperate situation. I usually go to a Message Board or something.
The reason is because of the spoilers. The one that did it was the biggest event in FFVII (those who have played know what I am talking about). It wasn't as amazing as it would have been if I had not run across that. It still makes me angry.

No,no,no,no,never and not ever.Even if I'm hopelessly stuck,I'll just keep on trying with a mad glee and cursewords coming out on a twelve words per minute basis.I mean,I cheat. It's fun,but I,for some reason, detest walktroughs.Don't ask why.I just don't like them.

Most definitely not the first time.  Only after I've throttled the game a couple times do I go to the walkthroughs.  But I'll be pleasantly suprised if someone got CT's Moon Armor without one.

I marked "no" as my response, but I'll use them on my second time through a game just for extra stuff.  On extremely rare occasions I'll use them for side quests on my first time through.  For FF6 I used one to find out that my beloved ninja was gone for good and that I had found all of the dragons (and then I figured out I died without saving after beating one of them so I then revisited them) I never use walkthroughs for beating bosses or finding my way out of areas though.

I didn't really use a walkthrough. I found my own way and tactics through the game in every challenge and battle. But I heard a lot of stuff from friends and game magazines before I got to play the game (and thought that I would never be able to ;) ). Things like "that weapon is there" and "to save Shadow, do like this..." etc. So when I first played the game, I already knew a lot of things. But for the real gameplay, no.

I don't use any walkthrough, but I get many hints from a friend of my who has already finished the game.

Shamefully, yes. Although usually I try to find one without spoilers, and I play the game by myself until I get stuck, then I can't let the walkthrough go.

This only happened because I got stuck in FF9 when i didn't pay enough attention to what people said, and I ended up taking an almost entirely magical team to a magical place and had to restart the game from the beginning  O_O

And I do it to advance in the plot. Sometimes I have no patience for random battles.
