FF2 unused track sounds like FF6 Owzer's theme?

When I was watching the FF2 video in the "Animation of Final Fantasy" series I noticed the music suddenly playing Owzer's theme, "The Magic House", from FF6. Since these videos seemed to use music from their respective games, I was very confused.
Asked about it on CoN chat and Neal pointed out this remarkable find: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=po0iQkspISw There's apparently an unused track from FF2 that seems to be a sort of prototype of this much more familiar FF6 track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM56iT2UPIA I haven't found much mention of this elsewhere on the internet, so if anyone knows more I'd love to hear about it. I listened to it when it was posted to Discord as well, and it sure is accurate. I'm willing to bet that there are quite a few examples of this, but some of them probably never have been published. Uematsu has them all somewhere...

While we’re on the topic of unused FF tracks, has anyone heard of the “Final Fantasy VI Special Tracks” album? It contains unused tracks from the game including unused town themes, an arrangement of “Troian Beauty” from FFIV, and even this track “Approaching Premonition” aka “Approaching Sentiment” which has Nobuo Uematsu playing the instruments and the entire FFVI staff sings in the chorus:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B7W15nqMIiQ I can’t find an English translation of the lyrics, but I think I heard the line “Suteki da ne” which translates as “Isn’t it lovely” and was famously the title of the love theme from FFX. |

I feel like I remember hearing this song before somewhere...I don't remember where, but I feel like I might have dismissed it as something that's "obviously not FFVI". Haha, oops.

So I remember played FF2 way back before it was released state side and yeah it has Kefka’s laugh as well.
