Tyrannosaur hunting troubles...

Hello, so Ive been playing ff6 on a SNES emulator, and I'm grinding before kefka's tower through Tyrannosaurs. However, a wiki I checked said they yield somewhere around 8,000 exp. (can't remember the actual number.) but I'm only getting 2,200 from them. Can anyone explain why this may be happening? Thanks in advance!

Are you using a party of four? The amount of EXP an enemy gives is divided by the number of characters in your party.
