Without even an announcement of a release date, Final Fantasy III was released on Steam for PC yesterday. The game came in at $15.99, which seems like a pretty decent price (though I'll probably wait for it to drop below ten dollars, personally).
For more information on the details of the game, check out our newspost from earlier this month. Source: Official Final Fantasy Facebook |

It's priced at £10.99 in the UK.
That puts me in a bit of a quandary - I've purchased the exact same port for Android when it was released, at a cost of not much less than £10.99, and then suffered a complete loss of faith when I discovered the save file was non-transferable to my new phone. I know I'd have more security with the Steam version, but I'm not sure I'm willing to drop another tenner on the game. -------------------- We apologise for the inconvenience |

Right after I spent eight bucks on games yesterday.
...I'm going to wait on this to see the what people think of it. Yeah I know it's already out; I haven't read the reviews of the 3DS/Android/whatever version since I don't have a 3DS. Last time I played this game was the fan-translated NES version. And I noticed they renamed Eria to Aria. And gave the onion kids distinct identities -- probably to increase the appeal to more recent FF series (and JRPG in general) gamers who are used to more story- and character-oriented narratives. Awesome! Time to check it out...and see if my dinosaur of a desktop PC will run it.
