Ok. I'm going to be doing quite a few top ten or top five topics now and in the future, and i'm going to start of with Top Five Faveourite Main characters. They don't have to be just men or just women, it's all main characters. Here's mine
5. Ashe (FF12) (In my opinion she is the main character of that game) 4. Lightning (FF13) 3. Cecil (FF4) 2. Yuna (FF10) (I see her as the ff10 main character) 1. Terra (FF6) I know there is a bit of confusion as to who is the main character in the later FF games. -------------------- Excuse me? Would you mind not talking while I'm interupting? |

1. Cecil
2. Terra 3. Locke (he counts as main too) 4. Kain (he's the driving plot force for FF4 with his brainwashed issues) 5. Zidane (nice to have a non brooding hero for the first time since Locke) -------------------- burger |

1 Cecil Harvey- Even though I like Kain Highwind better when it comes to Final Fantasy IV characters, Cecil was still a pretty noble, kind, forgivable, deep and passionate hero. 2 Zidane Tribal- Happy, cheerful, kind, supportive of his friends, un-selfish, willing to help and aid others, and overall a good leader to the others 3 Cloud Strife- It seems cool to hate this poor man these days, but I still love his spiky hair and awkward movements and battles to overcome his past sorrows, Sephiroth, and himself. 4 Squall Leonhart- At first he was bit of ass, but he had his reasons due to childhood trauma. Despite putting up his walls, he's quite intelligent, realistic, a little naive at times, and just a character that feels like a real, lost seventeen year old boy. 5 Terra Brandford- The first female Final Fantasy main lead, if she counts. She was quite strong mentally despite what Kefka has put her though due his sick and twisted ways, and she even becomes even stronger and develops into a beautiful and tough Mother. -------------------- Top Three fave Final Fantasies Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy V [ GBA ] |

![]() #5 - Fighter! Of course fighter. He's the bomb diggity and I'll tell you why. This guy gets hit repeatedly, REPEATEDLY all through your introduction to how to play this series, ok? If somebody with a brain sees a series of extremely long games they start from the beginning to get a feel for what the hell it's all about just to explain to themselves the system that all these now God-like nerdish, coolish people are now talking about. Fighter is the one taking all the abuse in the first chapter. Fighter gets a place. ![]() #4 - Cloud Thomas Strife He is a cool ass character yes. His hairstyle is now copied by Lady Gaga on a regular basis and Cloud Junkins Strife is all over every billboard. And those limit breaks are the centerpiece in the series gaudy displays of teenager-mentality power and destruction, I will grant it. But you will ask "Spoons, #4? You jerk! He's so much..." Listen, I don't want to hear it. Cloud is a bad example to young men because he teaches them women are more important than your life which is not true unless you are already married. Everything is made easy for Cloud when it comes to women and that means that this game gave all of us young men playing it when it came out with the biggest set of BLUEBALLS in the history of America. So I'm bitter enough and petty enough from years of forumgoing to knock Cloud down to #4. ![]() #3 - Tina/Terra Branford/Bradford/The green haired rydia clone This one is important to feminism. And apparently cross dressers. And apparently liberals. And she's so important. But seriously, I kid. Tina is a regular death machine compared to most female characters. Seeing her kill something with the Scimitar is just freaking cool, esp if you tank her out. Admit it, guys. She's way hotter than Tifa and so is Celes. You don't want a dishrag, respect yourself guys! Tifa is a dishrag. ![]() #2 - Cecil Harvey Appropos, don't you think? The dualistic main character of FF4 is #2. Hehe. That's numeralogically significant. Cecil's the man. First he can take care of a little girl, he can slap the shit out of Edward, he can have a girlfriend along in the party and admit she's his girlfriend to everyone, he can hang with Yang, he can redeem his bloodstained past and shit, he can fight robots, towers, cover people, both of his forms are cool and look badass, and in the end Possible spoilers: highlight to view he becomes the freaking King. Cecil rules to #2. ![]() #1 - Squall Leonheart. They should have named him Squall Lockheart. He's Cloud and Tifa's son, or I'm not the Spooniest. This guy rocks cuz he's doing all this in STEEL TOED BOOTS. Nice leathers, Cloud. Squall is a soldier. That's what it's like being a soldier, you suppress your damn emotions and shit goes through your mind when you're at a listening post and you don't say boo for three weeks. Guess Who is on the radio and it's "American Woman." 105.9 The Rock for you Nashvillian lurkers... Squall Leonheart is the #1 guy in this series just because of REN ZO KU KEN!!!! You can scream this when you launch it, and the animation job on it defined attack animations for the rest of the series. He is awesomeness, and his VA is excellent as well. This guy will freaking CUT you! That is all. Forgiveness please for the swearing. -------------------- X is blue. |

4. Terra 3. Ashe (She is more important for the story than Vaan) 2. Cecil 1. Locke (He plays a central role in the plot, hence the "main character" tag) -------------------- |

1: Terra
2: Kain 3: Cecil 4: Locke 5: Uhhh...I really don't have a fifth main. The only one that comes to mind is Setzer and he actually fits in right after Kain. Yeah, he's not a main but I have to put him here, he's just that awesome. His story, despite being told in a rush, had a lot more feeling to it than I find a lot of the stories the man characters have to them; this being in reference to the later games in the series. Also.... -Points at her cosplay page link- The Captain demanded a spot. He does that. It's apparently hilarious. The word of the day is: BIAS! I do have to give Faris an honorable mention, though. Despite not making the list, I have to admit that this particular story was a real heart breaker and deserves a lot more attention than it gets. -------------------- I'm your Mama Terra, come hang out with me around the internet! I swear she would have been on my list if she had counted as a main. Shame that FF5 got so little attention. Even more of a shame that the storyline in general is considered so boring. Just because it is classic and a little basic does not mean it is not good. It sort of feels like a faery tale, actually. |

Oh, yeah. She is pretty darn awesome. I still have to say that I like Terra and Cecil better, but Sarisa is super cool. I tend to say Reina because I think it sounds like a really purple name, and purple is my favorite color. Lenna feels like more of a pastel yellow. Pretty sure I have synesthesia... |

Let's see here..
1) Zidane Tribal is my favorite character of all time just because FFIX is my favorite Final Fantasy game ever and he's a thief just trying to win over his girl and defeat his own brother which he doesn't know for quite a while which is pretty epic. He's also just so different from the main characters before him (FFVII, FFVIII) which i thought really stood out. 2) Auron is my second favorite because he's basically the strong silent type of guy who keeps the party in place and knows what to do and what not to do. An experienced Guardian. Also because for most of the game you keep finding out more and more about his past which makes him more interesting as you keep playing. He definitely was my favorite character in FFX. 3) Celes Chere would be my third favorite mostly because of the second half of the game in the World of Ruin. She took up the good fight against her former allies and so much shit goes down before the world get's destroyed by Kefka. Then she gets put into a coma and wakes up a whole year later to find only Cid and helps her get on the raft to find her friends and you know the rest. Unlike most of the girls in the series she is more independent, strong and can take care of herself which makes her one of my favorites. 4) Balthier is my fourth because he too is also an interesting character. For starters, the dude is a pirate of the skies and free to do whatever he wants. He's also a narcissist and I don't blame him because to me the other characters were kind of boring in FFXII and i consider him to be the main character over Vaan/Ashe. He's also got a pretty weird past and his dad is a straight up psychopath which is why he's the way he is. 5) Noel Kreiss is my 5th and final favorite. Despite what most people say about FFXIII, the sequel is so much better and actually fun, I only beat this game recently but Noel is for sure already one of my favorites in the series no question. Let me just say that he's from the distant future and is the last person alive on the planet from his time. Lightning summons him to help change the future for the better and bring her sister along for the ride. Which makes his character pretty cool because he gets to travel through time and experience things that he could never do in his time period and try to make the future better for everyone. I think one of the reasons i liked FFXIII-2 so much is because it kinda reminded me of Chrono Trigger in some ways. But yeah, Noel definitely made me like the XIII story more than i did before. -------------------- Too be forgotten is worse than death - Freya Crescent |
