When i first saw this in the shops, and read who made it, i expected to see Square enix on it, but it is made by Nintendo mostly. It is an awsome game, but i think it might be a bit of a copy from FF and CT.

Well, there are inevitable similarities due to the nature of the genre, but the Fire Emblem series is almost as old as the Final Fantasy series - the first game was released around 1990, and there have been about 10 more since. .
It hasn't had as much exposure in the West, but in the Eastern market it's well established as its own dynastic franchise. -------------------- We apologise for the inconvenience |

I don't see how you could think it was a copy of FF and CT. They're nothing alike.

Fire Emblem is FAR from a copy of Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger. Awakening is the 13th game in the FE series, which has been around for over 20 years.

There's much to be said for skimming through the wikipedia page for whichever game has piqued your interest.
The only Fire Emblem i've really played is Shadow Dragon on DS, which is a remake of the original NES Fire Emblem. I became very interested in the series because I played Marth a lot in Smash Bros Melee... This has probably been discussed on the forums a lot before but SRPGs are damn hard, man.. in FE if one of your characters hits 0HP, they are permanently dead. Done, dusted, deceased. I can't bear the shame of losing one of my people so I have to restart the chapter every time. Is FE - Path of Radiance any good? Quote (Blinge Odonata @ 1st November 2013 18:32) in FE if one of your characters hits 0HP, they are permanently dead. Done, dusted, deceased. That's kind of why i like ff better, but FE is still awesome. -------------------- Excuse me? Would you mind not talking while I'm interupting? |

Quote Is FE - Path of Radiance any good? I definitely recommend playing Path of Radiance one of the best FE games out for sure probably the only reason i bought a game cube back in the day..and if you can even find it in stores anymore(the sequel for Wii, Radiant Dawn) i suggest you play that as well so much better than the GBA games IMO, alot more character class variety and a better, longer story. As for saying Fire Emblem Awakening is a copy of Final Fantasy? Not at all, not even close. The only Final Fantasy game that i could think of that is like Fire Emblem is Tactics and Tactics Advance. Even then not really.. In FE: Awakening there's a option at the beginning of the game where you can choose not to let your characters die for good if they die in a chapter which i think pretty much just takes away the difficulty of the game.(If you're down for that) Overall though, great game and not a copy of Final Fantasy. You should play a game before you speak about it. -------------------- Too be forgotten is worse than death - Freya Crescent |
