This video, if nothing else, contains some sweet trailer music.
It's for some game by Level-5, but I don't know the series and Google Translate fails me. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. The trailer music is Joe Hisaishi. The game's Ni no Kuni, which is a collab between Level-5 and legendary anime studio Studio Ghibli.
It was announced about a year ago at TGS, and is coming out pretty soon in Japan. DS and PS3 versions, IIRC. Wikipedia: Wham EDIT: Really, you thought I hadn't heard about this? This post has been edited by laszlow on 19th October 2010 15:57 -------------------- |

I thought you had, and therefore I asked here.

Quote (Glenn Magus Harvey @ 19th October 2010 13:57) I thought you had, and therefore I asked here. I kid, I kid ![]() Goes to show, though, that this is only *barely* from a proper series (a series of two games that haven't come out yet), but you assumed it was from some series anyhow. In today's game industry, it's all about sequels, right? -------------------- |

Actually, I use the term "series" even if there's only one game.
Though, I do tend to be very series-loyal. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. You can find me on the Fediverse! I use Mastodon, where I am @[email protected] ( https://sakurajima.moe/@glennmagusharvey ) |

Anybody else looking forward to this game? It's a joint project from Level-5 and Studio Ghibli due out this winter. If those two names aren't enough to deserve some interest, some of the snippets in this recent article from Kotaku certainly get the job done:
http://kotaku.com/5936927/20-things-you-sh...ig-console-jrpg What I like about what I'm seeing is that this game isn't trying to be edgy or avoid stereotypes or anything like that. It's totally honest with itself about what it's doing, which is sticking to traditional JRPG ideas while putting a few simple-though-fun tweaks on certain aspects and doing it all with unique artistic feel. Anyhow, has anyone else been keeping up with this game? Any thoughts? -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! Have a listen! |

I've had it preordered since the spring. From what I can tell, it's a mostly-generic RPG in the mold of a Dragon Quest or Pokemon, but with character movement as a major combat factor (not unlike FF XII or something). It looks absolutely gorgeous in the audio and visuals departments.
