Hello everbody, I've just come across this site after googling FF6 and I thought I might as well jump in and join you all. I'm a recent convert to the joys of the classic Final Fantasies having just bought a clutch of the games second hand, so I'm still a newbie, but I can see this is the site to learn the secrets and get chatting to others who love the 8/16-bit era Final Fantasies.

So thanks guys for a great site!

Greetings and salutations! Welcome to the series! It's good to see someone getting into the older games rather than clinging to the newer because they have pretty graphics. Don't get me wrong, I like the newer games as well, just not as much as the older. I look forward to hearing your opinions on the older games.

Thanks for the kind replies! But I must admit, I am a complete novice at the classic FF games, so don't be surprised if I don't make too many posts for now; I'll be spending most of my time here reading up on other people's experiences, rather than making my own interjections.

I may have more to say when I've played these games more...

Don't sweat it; like R51 said, it's neat to see new fans of the classic FFs. Feel free to jump right in, especially if you have any questions while you're playing. Welcome!

I also think it's nice that there are people out there that are still getting into older games, and I don't just mean Final Fantasy.

So far as it goes, this is probably the best and most well-organized site on the web for the games that it covers, and personally, whenever I want to enrich my gameplay experience, I still find myself coming back to read the guides. Particularly helpful is the info on Tactics, and some of the more challenging things to do in I, and V, the latter having guides written by Djibriel (who's site I've linked to is hosted here), who I consider to be one of the most authoritative figures on the subject. So far as VI goes, The Caves hosts MasterZed site too, who is pretty much the guru of all things FFVI. This isn't even mentioning the wealth of information available in the site's basic guides.

In short, so far as classic FF gaming goes, you've pretty much found the best place on the net to help you out with it .

Yeah this looks like a great site. Djibriel's guide has already proven itself incredibly useful - there's stuff I would have missed early on that I've picked up on thanks to him so that's cool - and the general info on FFV (PSone) is really useful too.

I'm sure the guides and walkthroughs on the other FF games are just as useful and informative - can't wait to get stuck in!

Well, summer is nice isn't it? I like/dislike school but law is kinda fun, however; I am glad to be back here.
