Went to see Tintin yesterday in 3D. I thought it was absolutely amazing. Loved every minute of it. As a fan I was thinking that it would take away a lot of what made the comics so good i.e the guns, fighting and globetrotting but they were all there in abundance. For a kids film it was pretty violent. Also I was happy to see so many references to other comics in the series like the crab meat tins and Castafiore's emerald in the 'O' in her name. Some of the action scenes outside the comics were superb. I don't usually care about fancy special effects but when I'm watching a cross between Metal Slug and Prince of Persia I can totally get into that.

What are your thoughts?

I haven't seen it yet, because the missus and my mates aren't interested. However, after what you've just written, I reckon I'm just gonna have to go see it on my own so that I don't miss out!
